Meet us at the market
THIS SATURDAY - 9:00 AM TO 2:00 PM

Hello Vallejo!
ANDREW'S ANNOUNCEMENTS
A MESSAGE FROM THE CITY MANAGER
This weekend, I hope you’ll get out and enjoy the City’s Earth Daze event at the Farmer’s Market on Saturday and visit City staff at our booth on the corner of Georgia and Marin streets. You can also catch City staff at Dia Del Nino on Saturday where a Vallejo Fire Department engine should be on display, along with Public Works equipment and Vallejo Police Department K9 demonstrations for the children. You can find more information on all these events here in the Vallejo Weekly.
Next week, the City’s homeless encampment clean-ups will resume. At their April 1st special meeting, the City Council directed staff to resume encampment clean-ups in partnership with service providers, advocates, communitybased organizations (CBOs), and faith-based organizations. The City has held meetings with these groups and established an encampment clean-up pilot program to provide expanded outreach, intake, and available resources to the encampments prior to the clean-up beginning. If you are interested in learning more
about the encampment clean-up process and seeing which locations are being addressed, visit MyVallejo.com/homelessresources. If you have questions about these processes, have services that you provide, or are looking for ways to support these efforts in the future, please contact our unhoused team at homelessness@ cityofvallejo.net. We will have more information on the encampment clean-ups in a Staff Brief in the coming weeks.
In this Vallejo Weekly, be sure to check out details provided on the new “Fairgrounds Drive” traffic improvement project currently underway with more information to come in the future on the construction schedule.
Also, to improve multi-lingual services from the City, we have translated the Vallejo Weekly into Spanish and Tagalog. We’d appreciate your feedback if you’d like to read the Vallejo Weekly in different languages.
With appreciation, Andrew Murray Vallejo City Manager

Health Vallejo & Club Stride

Healthy Vallejo and Club Stride are transforming lives through partnerships with the City of Vallejo, its Police Department, and Code Enforcement, funded by a Prop 64 grant. Their mission: provide real employment opportunities for at-risk youth and young adults to help them build brighter futures.
Healthy Vallejo also supports seniors and disabled community members with yard cleanup, ensuring dignity and care. Meanwhile, collaboration with the Vallejo Police Department fosters engagement and employment pathways, strengthening connections between young people and their city.
In three years, Healthy Vallejo has employed over 95 youth—many pursuing college, careers, or launching businesses—with a remarkably low reoffense rate. These individuals have overcome significant challenges, rewriting their futures through mentorship and opportunity.
Since its founding in 1997, Club Stride has worked closely with Healthy Vallejo to provide civic education, closing participation gaps and empowering young people to create positive change in their communities. Together, they are proving that resilience and support pave the way to lasting success.
