A new future land use and rezoning were completed for the Schumann land swap property, this started back in September of 2023 when the city worked in partnership with the adjacent land owner to reconfigure the park land at Historical Park.
Future land use and rezoning request was approved for the Hawkins 17 property, going from single-family residential to multi-family residential. The property owner stated that he intends to explore building workforce housing.
Council approved a resolution supporting the application for a $50,000 grant from the FL Department of Agriculture to conduct a citywide tree canopy survey.

Best Practices for Submitting Bid Proposals
Review all documents | The first common mistake vendors make is not reviewing all relevant documents. Sometimes, vendors miss addenda which can include important updates such as answers to questions, closing date changes, and specification changes. The best practice is always to check the solicitation notice for any updates before submitting your response.
Submit electronic responses early | Another common mistake suppliers make is submitting their bids before closing Don’t let yourself get into the unfortunate situation of a technical issue occurring right before the deadline and you are unable to submit on time.
Proofread the bid or RFP response | One crucial mistake a supplier can make is not reviewing and proofreading their bid proposal or RFP response before submitting it. Make sure you double-check the price and that the attached documents have accurate information about your business.

Aeration

In this video, Sebastian Municipal Golf Course Director Greg Gardner discusses aerification. Aerification entails punching thousands of ½ inch diameter holes in the greens and then filling those holes with sand. Recovery from July aeration occurred in less than one week and greens were extremely playable immediately after aerification.
August aeration schedule is as follows:
Front 9 closed - August 26 & 27
Back 9 closed - August 28 & 29
