Keep an Eye on Pets Pet Eye Health Awareness Week – Helping Pet Owners and Professionals Identify Eye Disease

his September sees the return of TVM UK’s Pet Eye Health Awareness Week (20-26 September 2021), which is dedicated to help identify common symptoms of eye disease. Eye problems in pets can be uncomfortable and if left untreated can lead to blindness, so it’s important that pet owners learn what symptoms to look out for. TVM will be broadcasting seven, short videos where their resident vet will be discussing common symptoms of poor eye health on their Facebook page (www.facebook.com/TVMUK). These will be broadcast daily from Monday 20th September though to Sunday 26th September. As well as guiding pet owners and professionals through symptoms to watch out for, TVM UK will be running a competition. Each day clues will be given to spell out an eye related word. At the end of the week viewers can solve the anagram and one lucky winner will win a Love2shop gift card worth £250. Five runners up will receive a bottle of Ocryl, TVM UK’s eye cleanser which combats unsightly tear staining, removes crust and mucus from your pet’s eyes and helps with general eye hygiene. Remember - it is important to be vigilant regarding your pet’s eye health as the earlier a problem is identified the more likely it can be successfully treated. Check your pets’ eyes daily so you know what’s normal for them and to get them used to having their eyes examined. Should you have any concerns please seek veterinary attention immediately.
