Big City Bites: New York Our summer food tour, Big-City Bites, is an exciting promotion that celebrates the unique, authentic cuisines found in 14 of North America’s most iconic cities. The second stop on our tour took us to NEW YORK, serving nonstop eats in the city that never sleeps. Our menu featured General Tso’s Chicken, Penne Primavera Florentine, Pernil Pork Shoulder, and of course New York Style Cheesecake. Airmen also enjoyed a drawing to win a Central Perk Mug! Our annual luau events are not something you want to miss! The dining facility teams are always excited to host one of our most anticipated lunches of the year, featuring Hawaiian-inspired menus, music, and hula hoop or limbo competitions. Goodfellow AFB hosted the most notable hula hoop competition, with the winner taking home the grand prize after a 61minute hula hoop record! Congrats to SPC1 Mulawin! Cheehoo! On this day, everyone is a winner after enjoying a lunch featuring Kalua Pig, Huli Huli Chicken, Grilled Salmon with Tropical Salsa, Mac Salad, Fried Rice, and Pineapple Upside-Down Cake. We are over halfway through our second cohort for our advanced culinary training program. Seven bases have students working toward completing their 11-course program and finalizing with a culinary presentation to their base leadership. We are extremely excited to announce that our Learning To FLY program is now American Culinary Federation (ACF) certified. Students who complete the program will receive approval for 11 continuing credits toward the initial or recertification application for ACF certification.
Eat Healthy, Get Rewarded We’re offering double reward points to all our Airmen all summer long in our Healthy Rewards loyalty program! Seymour Johnson Quarterly Birthday Meal Seymour Johnson’s Southern Eagle Dining Facility team knows how to throw a birthday party! Each quarter, they invite Airmen whose birthday was in those months to enjoy a special birthday dinner and great prizes. The event is not only fun for the guests of honor but also for the culinary team, who have the opportunity to build on their food presentation and catered meal experience. It’s a win-win all around.
