FIGUEROA BELTRÁN Julio
Cuban painter Julio Figueroa Beltrán utilizes a broad range of subjects to investigate people’s relationship with the known and unknown environment. In his paintings that refer to surrealism, the artist brings together various fauna and flora with modern-day industrialized subjects, emphasizing a strange coexistence between nature and manmade objects. He paints in a figurative realistic style while exploring ways to challenge viewers’ perspectives by enlarging certain objects or shrinking others.
