FUEL PASSION WITH CREATIVITY.

Our feelings or passions are stemmed from inspiration and fuelled creativity. There is no single reaction or feeling exclusively favorable for innovation. The real secret is in how we utilize the good and bad events towards creativity.

Your passion is the fuel of life. It should be propelled with consistency and persistence. Sometimes, people put their passions on hold or leave it behind. You do not have to neglect it; you just have to refuel it. Passionate people tend to use their momentum to be motivated regardless if they will be happy or won’t be satis ed. This desire and commitment will allow individuals to maintain long-term goals. They are no strangers to setbacks or frustrations because levels of stress are part of creative work. Passion is complex and it is anchored with intensity which goes beyond feelings, work ful llment and engagement.

Rediscover that desire and fuel it by nding out what made you passionate about your passion. Go back to the

beginning and remember why it all started. Discover your why to help you nd what motivated you which will get you back in the game. Next, master and manage your emotions. Being responsible for your emotional state plays a vital role to refuel your passion.

Then, feed your soul and mind. To keep your creative juices owing, read books, watch movies, and get inspiration from other people, things or other places. Be consistent and patient. You have to commit and have patience. This will keep you driven and help you in the long run. Do what you love instead of forcing yourself to do something you do not like. Embrace the journey to keep your spirits high. To fuel your passion: Play your strengths, improve weaknesses, use your gi s and talents, and above all, celebrate your successes – both big and small.

Look good, feel great!

In-depth features approaching the scope of life decisions, importance of wellness, diversity and career perspectives. Exclusive interviews with the best in the business –from world-class public figures to influential faces.

AMANDA Michelle

She’s our fierce fitness enthusiast and American model who just became the cover girl to exude beauty and confidence. Here, the Texas-based administrator talks career goals, wellness, branding and why you can be whatever you desire.

CSM: The last couple of years were labeled as a rollercoaster ride with full of twists and probably surprises. How did you show your resiliency?

AMANDA: Having a positive mindset and always trying to find the good in everyday even the smallest thing. I think it forced us all to reevaluate our lives like our families and relationships. Every day you’re given to wake up, is a day you’re given to potentially make a difference. Be grateful.

CSM: What’s the best course of action to take in the face of uncertainty?

AMANDA: Everyone handles that differently. I pray. Have faith that whatever is meant to happen, will. Many situations in life are teaching moments whether you like the lesson or not. You take something away from it.

CSM: Professionally speaking, how can you exude being decisive?

AMANDA: If an opportunity feels right, go with it. You’ll be approached by many different people with many different proposals. You must do what feels

right. Be more selective with what you choose to be a part of.

CSM: What comeback goals do you want to achieve in 2022?

AMANDA: I want my stage body back! Kidding! I feel the best I probably ever have – a different body, a little older with more life experiences. I’m all about moving forward.

CSM: Define confidence and being sexy. AMANDA: I think confidence is sexy. It’s all about how you feel about yourself. That directly correlates to how you present yourself.

CSM: How do you standout in a fast-paced and competitive industry?

AMANDA: I think kindness goes a long way. It can get time consuming to acknowledge every single nod of appreciation but, just being a down to earth person that’s easy to talk to. Stand out with people.

CSM: Career-wise, how can someone be a good influence to others?

AMANDA: Be your authentic self.

CSM: What vital lessons can you share to young people?

AMANDA: Don’t worry so much about what people think. We get so caught up in appearances and what’s cool, or not wanting to go against the grain but, sometimes that’s the best thing for you. If it makes you happy or enjoy it, do it. Focus on health. That’s what I try to preach to my daughter. Social media has made looking good about being ‘skinny’ or ‘hot’ I just want to her to eat healthy and stay active. To me, that boosts confidence and everything else where a healthy lifestyle is related, falls into place.

Fuel your passion and jumpstart your mindset with this guide to working smart to own the year 2022: all the street-smart competence and practical knowledge you need to take your life and career to rev up your creative thinking.
You must do what feels right. Be more selective with what you choose to be a part of.”

AND AROUND HEALTHY LIFESTYLE

CSM: What do you think is the role of food or nutrition in healthy living?

AMANDA: I think it’s vital. I think what you put into your body directly affects your outward body. It sounds so cliché but, put good in, get good out.

CSM: How can you maintain your consistency of weight or shape?

AMANDA: Eating healthy and working out consistently. Enjoy yourself but find the balance that works for you. If I’m getting ready for something, I scale back my diet. Cut back certain things. Work out a little harder. I’m in maintenance mode right now and I’m happy with it.

CSM: What fitness goals do you want to attain?

AMANDA: I’ve achieved them already. I competed for about 5 years. I didn’t get my sword that I set out for but, the changes I saw my body go through. What I know I’m capable of and the tools I have for going forward if I choose to go down that path again, are paramount to me.

CSM: What exercises do you consider fundamental?

AMANDA: Squats and core work. There are so many variations you can do. I’ve definitely

changed the intensity of which I train because I kept injuring myself! I feel like when I slack on my core, it directly affects back for lower body exercises.

CSM: What gym etiquette that people must follow?

AMANDA: Pick up after yourself. Put thing back where you get them. If you see someone new, throw them a smile. The gym can be a very intimidating place no matter your level of fitness. Everyone has insecurities or bad days and also no ‘hanging out’ on equipment to text. Text only when you’re not on a piece of equipment.

CSM: When you’re stressed, how do you manage it?

AMANDA: Deep breathing. Try to redirect that feeling to a resolution.

CSM: Simplify if mental and physical health are connected or not.

AMANDA: Absolutely. I think a lot of people use fitness for their mental health for stress release. It’s an escape which boosts the endorphins and its mood changing.

CSM: In achieving fitness goals, what do people should remember?

AMANDA: Nothing happens overnight. It’s a lifestyle. Pace yourself. Give yourself the ok to slip back and get back to it. Don’t obsess over it. You’ll think you’re failing if you do. And nobody likes the scale. Ignore that thing.

CSM: What stereotypes should people break when it comes to physical and mental health?

AMANDA: I think mental and physical health is directly related so many people use it as their therapy. It’s a time for people to tune out whatever is going in their life, or their day and just focus on what’s in their control in that moment. It’s for their body, their health, and their strength. I think more people should work out for their mental health.

Nothing happens overnight. It’s a lifestyle. Pace yourself. Give yourself the ok to slip back and get back to it...

Talks about diversity, modelling, and branding

CSM: Explain what diversity, equity, and inclusion mean to you and why they’re important.

AMANDA: Being accepting of an appreciating all different cultures.

CSM: What is your approach to understanding the perspectives of colleagues from different backgrounds?

AMANDA: Asking questions. I like to know as much about people as they are willing to tell.

CSM: How would you handle a situation where a client or a talent was being culturally insensitive, sexist, racist, or homophobic?

AMANDA: I would have to say something.

CSM: Discuss a time when you advocated for diversity and inclusion.

AMANDA: I’ve never had to. I can’t think of a time where anyone was excluded form anything I was a part of.

COVER
STORY

CSM: What made you decide to be a model?

AMANDA: I’ve wanted to be a model since I was a kid.

CSM: Who was your motivation or perhaps your inspiration when you started modeling?

AMANDA: I was really into the fitness aspect. The competing and modeling went hand-on-hand.

Amanda Latona (Kuclo) was what I aspired to be. She’s still amazing to me.

CSM: As a model and public figure, how do you handle feedback or criticism?

AMANDA: By understanding that

CSM: What do you think about the competition in this industry, and the relationships models have with each other?

AMANDA: I think they’ve gotten better. I think there’s a lot more support for each other. We all have our time to win right. So, keep cheering for others. Your time will come whatever that means to you. Whatever your win is, it will come.

CSM: What do you consider the toughest aspect of this job?

AMANDA: Consistency. There are peaks and valleys of this industry.

CSM: What are your goals as a model? How do you see yourself progress in this field?

AMANDA: I may have hit my peak! A cover feature!

CSM: How do you prepare for a new photo shoot?

AMANDA: No alcohol. More water intake, stricter diet of lean proteins and veggies. More intense workouts!

CSM: Do you have any limitations? Would you model any kind of clothing at all?

AMANDA: No nudity. I would absolutely model clothes!

CSM: Where do you see yourself in ten years from now?

AMANDA: I would like to be settled down, remarried and living in a rural area. Not too far from the city but, I want land and more dogs.

CSM: To those who wanted to venture this career, discuss the essential skills that they should possess and what advice would you give?

AMANDA: Stick with it. Not everything happens in the time you want or believe it should but, it happens as it’s supposed to.

IN-DEPTH CONNECTION AND PERSONALITY

CSM: The last couple of years were labeled as a rollercoaster ride with full of twists and probably surprises. How did you show your resiliency?

I think that knowing yourself and who you are within is what gives you the courage to face adversity and show true resilience. Becoming a self-reliant person is important so that when times are challenging and you fall, you aren’t dependent on someone else to pick you back up.

CSM: What’s the best course of action to take in the face of uncertainty?

I think the best thing to do when facing uncertainty is to lean into your faith. Believe that things will turn out positively and do it scared.

CSM: Professionally speaking, how can you exude being decisive?

Being decisive takes confidence. When you have put in the work in whatever profession you are in, there should be a level of comfort in that field. Be confident in what you are an expert in and in that, you will find the ability to be decisive.

CSM: What comeback goals do you want to achieve in 2022?

I have so many comeback goals planned for this year. I have both personal and professional goals. I would love to broaden my real estate brokerage and photography business. Coming back from a few rough years in hospitality by showing up stronger is first on my professional goal list. Personally, I would love to incorporate more strength training into my fitness schedule.

CSM: Define confidence and being sexy. These two go hand-in-hand in my book. Regardless of whether you see yourself as sexy, other people will if you are confident. Loving yourself in your own skin creates such a vibe of self-love that other people pick up on that!

CSM: How do you standout in a fastpaced and competitive industry?

I stand out by not trying to compete with the others --- I compete with myself. I don’t try to be the biggest fish in the pond. I want to standout for being genuine and humble in a world that sometimes are not those things.

CSM: Career-wise, how can someone be a good influence to others?

I think about those that have influence in my life and they all share some qualities in common. They are all humble, honest, loyal and trustworthy. They are there to help others and never criticize anyone for trying to better themselves.

CSM: What vital lessons can you share to young people? The things that truly matter in life are not going to be found on social media or by having the nicest material things. The things in life that make you happy in life all come from your faith, being loved and caring for others.

ON FITNESS TRAINING AND HEALTHY LIFESTYLE:

CSM: What do you think is role of food or nutrition in healthy living?

The things that truly matter in life are not going to be found on social media or by having the nicest material things. The things in life that make you happy in life all come from your faith, being loved and caring for others.

CSM: How can you maintain your consistency of weight or shape?

Staying active throughout the day whether it is parking further away from a store to get in steps or by going to a fitness class.

CSM: What exercises do you consider fundamental?

All the basics... those are the lifelong exercises that create a workout plan that can be used forever. Squats, planks, push-ups, crunches, etc.

CSM: What gym etiquette that people must follow?

Don’t slam the weights and put up your equipment!

CSM: When you’re stressed, how do you manage it?

Take it back to the simple exercises. Don’t overcomplicate things until your mind is clearer for creativity.

CSM: Expound why mental health m atters in the digital age.

We live in an age where we are on display for the opinions of others. Strangers behind a keyboard feel that it is acceptable to make negative comments on people that they have never met. This can really wear on someone’s vision of themself. If you have mental health issues, this can open you up to unnecessary scrutiny that can harm you in the long run. We need to focus on being mentally healthy so that the opinions of others are irrelevant to our self-worth.

CSM: Simplify if mental and physical health are connected or not.

Yes, absolutely. If you aren’t in a great head space, you can’t possibly put out your best effort when it comes to physical health.

CSM: In achieving fitness goals, what do people should remember?

It doesn’t matter if other people get it or are supportive of your goals. You have to do it for you!

ASHLEY KOHLS

ON DIVERSITY, INCLUSIVITY & EQUITY

CSM: Explain what diversity, equity, and inclusion mean to you and why they’re important. Being diverse is what makes this world interesting. Millions of the same people would make life boring.

CSM: How would you advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion with brands or companies that don’t understand its importance? Give examples of how being more diverse or inclusive would benefit them and their consumers.

CSM: What is the most challenging aspect of working in a diverse environment? We haven’t walked in everyone’s shoes so working in an environment where you have little experience of what shaped those around you can be difficult. That is where being open-minded and accepting come into play.

CSM: What is your approach to understanding the perspectives of colleagues from different backgrounds? Just like I mentioned above, being open-minded, accepting and sensitive to others’ backgrounds as they may be different from your own.

CSM: Describe an ideal brand that has a sense of inclusion, belonging, and equity on a daily basis?

Lululemon. From their culture to their ad campaigns

... being open-minded, accepting and sensitive to others’ backgrounds as they may be different from your own.”

IN-DEPTH CONNECTION AND PERSONALITY

CSM: The last couple of years were labeled as a rollercoaster ride with full of twists and probably surprises. How did you show your resiliency?

It was definitely a rollercoaster but prepping for shows really kept my mind in one place and I was able to focus on me and forget about the craziness of the world for a bit.

CSM: What’s the best course of action to take in the face of uncertainty?

I tend to live in the moment, so if I’m not sure on something I’m not afraid to just let what happens happen. In the end of the day the world will keep on spinning.

CSM: Professionally speaking, how can you exude being decisive?

It’s not always about knowing the right decision. Its knowing if your decision is wrong you can own up to it and deal with the consequences. If you’re alright with that then you should never be afraid to make the decisions when everyone else stands back.

CSM: What comeback goals do you want to achieve in 2022?

This year is my growing year. Being the first off season with my coach Leon Strensholm, I plan on putting some proper muscle mass on with good density to get me into the next level in this industry.

CSM: Define confidence and being sexy. Being sexy and being confident really just means loving yourself and being smart enough to not let peoples judgments cloud your vision. If you know in your mind that you’re looking your best and feeling your best you won’t be afraid by the judgment of others. Because the only reason they’ll be judging you is for being your best and sometimes they will never get to that level.

CSM: How do you standout in a fast-paced and competitive industry?

Being able to stand out can be very hard. Everyday there’s a new challenge, a new trend, a new record but sticking to myself and just doing me has seemed to do the trick. I just have to make sure I have my hands in everything from TikTok to YouTube. Where I live, there aren’t too many people doing what I’m doing. There are people that look good and go to the gym but don’t go to the level of competing as a bodybuilder, so I think a lot of people from here like seeing that content.

CSM: Career-wise, how can someone be a good influence to others?

People love to see success but not many people see the work behind the success. It’s like when people call these multi-millionaires an “overnight success” but it still took them 10 years of work behind the scenes to get there… If you can show people the hard work and what it really takes I believe that is the best influence. There’s no such thing as a shortcut in anything. If you want something, you have to work for it and that’s the way life is. Seeing how hard someone can push

themselves for what they want is what I get influenced and motivated by.

CSM: What vital lessons can you share to young people? Don’t follow everyone else. If they’re partying every weekend that doesn’t mean you have to. If they’re doing drugs, that doesn’t mean you have to. What I’m getting at is if you would rather stay at home and try perfect something of your own and try reach that goal don’t be afraid to tell people “no” because I know for a fact your dreams won’t come true unless you work for them and I don’t think your dreams will come true in a nightclub.

ON FITNESS TRAINING AND HEALTHY LIFESTYLE:

CSM: What do you think is the role of food or nutrition in healthy living? Nutrition means everything in healthy living. Food and nutrition can change your mood, composure, everything. After going through prep I learnt how much food plays a role in your lifestyle. Having a healthy stable diet with efficient macros for what you want to achieve, whether you’re gaining, maintaining or losing weight having the proper diet will not only make you feel better but make your goals 10 times easier to achieve. You can train your ass off every day but if you don’t have the right diet it can almost be pointless.

CSM: How can you maintain your consistency of weight or shape? For me specifically, maintaining weight would involve training constantly fairly hard with a steady calorie intake. If I burn around the exact calories, I consume and I am training hard I would be able to maintain the physique I have.

CSM: What fitness goals do you want to attain?

The goal at the moment is to put on some dense muscle mass for my next shows, so it involves a lot of heavy compound movements.

CSM: What exercises do you consider fundamental?

I consider all compound movements to be fundamental but if I had to choose one it would be the deadlift. The deadlift is a movement that can change your physique so rapidly if you are training heavy with proper form.

CSM: What gym etiquette that people must follow?

Always be respectful to others no matter what their experience is. We all start somewhere so there’s no need to judge others for trying. Being nice to others goes a long way, because for some the gym is a very intimidating place.

CSM: When you’re stressed, how do you manage it?

The biggest stress relief for me is either training at the gym or being able to sit down and spend some time with my partner. Being able to sit and talk to the person closest to you every day and letting them know if something is on your mind is something that should be cherished.

CSM: Expound why mental health matters in the digital age.

Mental strength is needed now more than ever, especially with COVID-19. Seeing photos of your favourite stars and influencers living their best lives can be hard to see sometimes especially when it’s something you might not necessarily have. But what we mentally need to understand is that there’s no such thing as a life better than yours. It’s your life so just know that you need to live it at its best without worrying about others.

CSM: Simplify if mental and physical health are connected or not. They are definitely connected, and the easiest way to tell for me is if it’s a really off day for me I can feel it all through the day physically at work or at the gym. Keeping in the right frame of mind and staying as positive as you can, will physically help you as much as mentally.

CSM: In achieving fitness goals, what do people should remember?

Always remember that everyone is genetically different. Don’t say you want to look exactly like him/her or be able to lift as much as him/her because it is impossible to be exact the same as others, better or worse just aim to reach your highest potential.

CSM: What stereotypes should people break when it comes to physical and mental health?

Unfortunately, there’s a lot of “false advertisements” around with TikTok and even on Instagram. Our favourite influencers are bringing fitness apps out to get you “shredded in 30 days” and “ripped before summer” but a lot of these apps are just money grabs. What needs to be done is you don’t just buy or subscribe to a fitness app and follow it like a sheep. Go out of your way and do a bit of research. Watch some videos about the fitness world and mental health. Before you know it, you will know all there is to know or at least enough to structure a program that works for you.

JARROD BEST

ON DIVERSITY, INCLUSIVITY & EQUITY

CSM: Explain what diversity, equity, and inclusion mean to you and why they’re important.

These three words mean a lot to me. Living in Australia, we are very welcoming people and where I live you see people from all over the world coming in and out. These words are important to me because we are all in this game of life together and we all battle through the same ups and downs regardless of gender, skin tone, sexuality etc. We are all humans and the way we decide to live our limited time on the planet is purely up to the

CSM: How would you advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion with brands or companies that don’t understand its importance?

There probably aren’t that many brands out there that now don’t understand the importance of these topics. But I would definitely educate them on how important it is in today’s society and how we all need to respect these traits.

CSM: Discuss a time when you advocated for diversity and inclusion.

person living it.

CSM: What is the most challenging aspect of working in a diverse environment?

I honestly don’t even notice any challenging aspects. Like I said before we are all human. We just have to live our life how we want. Some people might find it hard to live with others decisions and opinions but we need to learn we are all allowed to have them.

CSM: What is your approach to understanding the perspectives of colleagues from different backgrounds? The best way is to talk. Talking to your colleagues or teammates about themselves and their background will open your eyes and you might even learn a thing or two about how others live in different cultures.

CSM: How would you handle a situation where a client or a talent was being culturally insensitive, sexist, racist, or homophobic?

I haven’t really had to come across this situation before… but if I had to I would have to stand my ground… although you probably can’t change someone’s mind on their beliefs on the spot I would at least try my hardest to let them keep their opinions on these topics to themselves as it is hurting others.

I’ve honestly never really had to. Where I am from we almost celebrate how welcoming we are and how well we include everybody. From years of playing sports and all through school there wasn’t really any unfairness. We all just have to evolve and live together as one regardless of our differences.

CSM: Describe an ideal brand that has a sense of inclusion, belonging, and equity on a daily basis?

A brand I see really pushing equality and inclusion on a daily basis is Gymshark. They include everyone from all walks of life and it is awesome to see!

CSM: What steps will you take to eliminate bias from other brands or companies?

The best thing I could do would be to educate them on my beliefs. If they don’t like what I have to say or aren’t on board with how everyone should be treated with the same respect, it would be in my best interest to no longer work with the brand / company.

We are all humans and the way we decide to live our limited time on the planet is purely up to the person living it. ”
