FUEL PASSION WITH CREATIVITY.
Our feelings or passions are stemmed from inspiration and fuelled creativity. There is no single reaction or feeling exclusively favorable for innovation. The real secret is in how we utilize the good and bad events towards creativity.
Your passion is the fuel of life. It should be propelled with consistency and persistence. Sometimes, people put their passions on hold or leave it behind. You do not have to neglect it; you just have to refuel it. Passionate people tend to use their momentum to be motivated regardless if they will be happy or won’t be satis ed. This desire and commitment will allow individuals to maintain long-term goals. They are no strangers to setbacks or frustrations because levels of stress are part of creative work. Passion is complex and it is anchored with intensity which goes beyond feelings, work ful llment and engagement.
Rediscover that desire and fuel it by nding out what made you passionate about your passion. Go back to the
beginning and remember why it all started. Discover your why to help you nd what motivated you which will get you back in the game. Next, master and manage your emotions. Being responsible for your emotional state plays a vital role to refuel your passion.
Then, feed your soul and mind. To keep your creative juices owing, read books, watch movies, and get inspiration from other people, things or other places. Be consistent and patient. You have to commit and have patience. This will keep you driven and help you in the long run. Do what you love instead of forcing yourself to do something you do not like. Embrace the journey to keep your spirits high. To fuel your passion: Play your strengths, improve weaknesses, use your gi s and talents, and above all, celebrate your successes – both big and small.

With Figure Classique in Fitness Australia Weekend and successful business under her belt, The Kiwi fitness athlete and Australia-based life coach means business. Here’s her practical recipe for staying mind-body strong.
COVER STORY BY IAN CARLO BAJADA PHOTOGRAPHS BY DURRAN OLSEN
REPRESENTED BY FITNESS AUSTRALIA WEEKEND AND MS. FITNESS AUSTRALIA
CSM: The last couple of years were labeled as a rollercoaster ride with full of twists and probably surprises. How did you show your resiliency?
ALISON: The last few years have taught me my inner strength and focus. I have learnt to cut out that which you cannot control and focus on what you can control. The importance of goals and positive things are to build towards and counting all of your wins, big or small. I competed in body building throughout and ran a very successful business. Earned my pro card in body building and had my most successful month in business in 12 years.
CSM: What’s the best course of action to take in the face of uncertainty?
ALISON: Focus on what you can control. Have daily practices that ensure you stay grounded and present – gym, walk in nature, breathing exercises, yoga Surround yourself by a team that believe in you. And keep taking steps towards your goal even when you are fearful, take the 1% rule. Look to improve 1% per day rather than trying to do it all at once.
CSM: Professionally speaking, how can you exude being decisive?
ALISON: Make decisions quickly and change your mind slowly. Decide on a course of action and follow through
on what is right in your gut and heart, without allowing your fearful mind to kick in. Eat thr frog as they say – do the tasks you don’t like to do or are fearful of first.
CSM: What comeback goals do you want to achieve in 2022?
ALISON: Build my online coaching course for people to find their true inner superpowers and live them.
CSM: Define confidence and being sexy. ALISON: Confidence is sexy. Wear confidence like it is your best clothing item, with pride. I learnt about how much confidence just radiates from you when I was on stage competing. The more confidence I had the more I could command the stage. This I think is a very sexy thing. You can be more of who you truly are without having to seek permission or approval from others.
CSM: How do you standout in a fast-paced and competitive industry?
ALISON: I stand out by being myself. I am not looking to compete with others. I am looking to compete with myself. I ask daily – how can I be a better version of myself today, than I was yesterday. I think you can stand out by being authentic, by caring about others and not being afraid to be the face of your business or your brand. Let people connect with you. Give them more value than they would ever expect.
CSM: Career-wise, how can someone be a good influence to others?
ALISON: By being a leader. Lead the charge – the best way to influence people is to be the demonstration of what is possible. People love positive role models. Communicate well and clearly with love.
CSM: What vital lessons can you share to young people?
ALISON: Follow your heart and passions, have high responsibility. Set goals and go for them, knowing sometimes you may miss. You will learn and can always go again with that new learning. There are always answers; it is just a matter of finding them.
Fuel your passion and jumpstart your mindset with this guide to working smart to own the year 2022: all the street-smart competence and practical knowledge you need to take your life and career to rev up your creative thinking.
I ... stand out by being authentic, by caring about others and not being afraid to be the face of your business.”
CSM: What do you think is the role of food or nutrition in healthy living?
ALISON: Huge role. Good nutrition gives you vitality. It is like putting the wrong fuel in a car. It won’t run well.
CSM: How can you maintain your consistency of weight or shape?
ALISON: Eat well 95% of the time. Exercise regularly in ways that suit your body type. Seek help and coaching if you are not getting the results you want.
CSM: What fitness goals do you want to attain?
ALISON: My next fitness goal is to travel overseas and compete in a figure competition and win at an international level.
CSM: What exercises do you consider fundamental?
ALISON: Weights are essential. Builds good muscle and strength, bone density and basil metabolic rate. Good for hormone
balancing as well. Stretching also helps as you want to be able to live in a free body for longevity.
CSM: What gym etiquette that people must follow?
ALISON: Don’t hog equipment and put weights away.
CSM: When you’re stressed, how do you manage it?
ALISON: I take deep breaths; I move my body to move the negative energy. And then I talk it out with someone who understands and I trust.
CSM: Expound why mental matters in the digital age. ALISON: We can get consumed in devices. It is so important to unplug from the digital world and look around to see reality.
CSM: Simplify if mental and physical health are connected or not.
ALISON: I believe they are 100%. Your mind can certainly control your
vibrational state and therefore your recovery and susceptibility to illness.
CSM: In achieving fitness goals, what do people should remember?
ALISON: Set the goal in concrete and the time frame in sand. Be consistent. Success is not in a straight line.
CSM: What stereotypes should people break when it comes to physical and mental health?
ALISON: That there is only one answer for all people. We are different. Find what works for you.
Set the goal in concrete and the time frame in sand. Be consistent. Success is not in a straight line... Find what works for you.

IN-DEPTH CONNECTION AND PERSONALITY
CSM: The last couple of years were labeled as a rollercoaster ride with full of twists and probably surprises. How did you show your resiliency?
Staying aware and making conscious choices that were in line with my personal core values assisted in creating achievable goals with almost any conditions that were presented. Staying creative also helped a great deal as it allowed for easier navigation when the curvy turns showed up.
CSM: What’s the best course of action to take in the face of uncertainty?
Having faith and staying present in this now moment is the best course of action. Your awareness stays open to possibilities in this state of mind and you can continue to utilize your energy for living and making change as tides of life shift.
CSM: Professionally speaking, how can you exude being decisive?
Trusting myself and making clear conscious choices swiftly with ease. I’m able to achieve this by knowing myself along with what is important to me so I take action and reduce wasted energy.
CSM: What comeback goals do you want to achieve in 2022?
I don’t consider any goals for 2022 as “comeback” goals as I’m always growing in new areas or new ways. This year my focus is on being more in-tune with my mind, body and spirit to achieve greater inner peace via holistic living.
CSM: Define confidence and being sexy. For me confidence and being sexy comes from having inner peace and security in one’s authentic self. If you’re sound in how you’re showing up, people recognize that easily.
CSM: How do you standout in a fastpaced and competitive industry?
By showing up and doing my best every day, even when nearing burnout. And when getting to that point, recognizing it and taking the necessary steps to communicate my needs with myself and my colleagues, there is no shame in asking for help.
CSM: Career-wise, how can someone be a good influence to others?
By showing up and demonstrating best practice strategies along with openly sharing experiences, ideas, thoughts and processes that inspire connection and even more positive growth.
CSM: What vital lessons can you share to young people? Vital lesson of self-love: Make sure you put on your oxygen mask first before helping another one.
ON FITNESS TRAINING AND HEALTHY LIFESTYLE:
CSM: What do you think is role of food or nutrition in healthy living?
Food is the key to health and wellness! You can do all the exercise you can imagine and as long as your body isn’t receiving the proper fuel 85% of the time, your goals will only be accomplished short-term.
CSM: How can you maintain your consistency of weight or shape?
By being consistent in daily choices of food, activity, environment. There is no magic solution, it’s simply showing up every day choosing what’s best for your body and remembering to let go of self-judgment when you find yourself making choices that may not support your desired goal.
CSM: What exercises do you consider fundamental?
I mix it up my routine regularly. My fundamental exercises include stretching for flexibility and to prevent injury, cardio (walk, run, bike, row) to strengthen my heart, and lifting for muscle endurance and strength.
CSM: What gym etiquette that people must follow?
Be mindful of others and remember it’s a shared space. Clean up after yourself.
CSM: When you’re stressed, how do you manage it?
My first go to is to take a deep a breath and do a centering exercise to re-align my mind, body and spirit. Next up I would self-evaluate why the stress is occurring and the purpose it is serving. If it isn’t a healthy stress, I take steps to eliminate it. Some of my go to ways of managing it would be to play in nature, journal, or go for a run.
CSM: Expound why mental health matters in the digital age.
Mental health matters greatly in digital age as our online interactions play a big part in our daily lives and social media can greatly influence the state mental health.
CSM: Simplify if mental and physical health are connected or not.
Mental and physical health is totally interconnected. Physical health issues increase the risk of developing mental health issues and vice versa.
CSM: In achieving fitness goals, what do people should remember?
In setting fitness goals, know your why’s so when times become trying you remember why you are doing it and can dig deep to persevere.
CSM: What stereotypes should people break when it comes to physical and mental?
The stereotype everyone has the same baseline for defining physical or mental health. As we all know, each of us has different genetics along with different life experiences that shape us. The constant comparison and/or judgment create more divide.
MARCI TOBIAS
ON DIVERSITY, INCLUSIVITY & EQUITY
CSM: Explain what diversity, equity, and inclusion mean to you and why they’re important. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are the keys to having a community that will long-term be ideal to live in. Diversity gives our lives richness and the ability to share experiences we wouldn’t have without it. Equity and inclusion are one in the
ideas outside of what I may normally hold creates growth for all.
CSM: How would you handle a situation where a client or a talent was being culturally insensitive, sexist, racist, or homophobic?
I speak up and am direct to the
same because knowing that people are inherently different but are all sharing the “human experience” gives us the drive to be accepting of others in all aspects. Everyone is deserving of love.
CSM: What is the most challenging aspect of working in a diverse environment?
Misunderstandings due to varying views can be challenging aspect of diverse environment and with open-hearted communication the misunderstandings can lead to connection and better understanding.
CSM: What is your approach to understanding the perspectives of colleagues from different backgrounds?
Staying genuinely curious, open minded and accepting is key in my approach to understanding perspectives of colleagues from different backgrounds. Establishing the connection to openly explore
point of what I find insensitive, sexist, racist, homophobic or plain just not acceptable. If my response inspires change great if it brings clarity of misalignment in partnership then I part ways with client/talent.
CSM: How would you advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion with brands or companies that don’t understand its importance?
I speak up and share my perspective. Change begins with us.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion are the keys to having a community that will longterm be ideal to live in. Everyone is deserving of love.

IN-DEPTH CONNECTION AND PERSONALITY
CSM: The last couple of years were labeled as a rollercoaster ride with full of twists and probably surprises. How did you show your resiliency?
No matter what life throws at you, you must keep moving because it doesn’t stand still for anyone. Having constant goals set to work towards, as well as a good support network ensures you are always pushing for success while ensuring you have the love and support from those you trust most.
CSM: What’s the best course of action to take in the face of uncertainty?
In the face of uncertainty, it’s vital not to make any rash decisions, take time to process what has happened and seek advice from those you trust. Always trust your gut and formulate the right questions to get the answers you need.
CSM: Professionally speaking, how can you exude being decisive?
Being positive and optimistic about your goals and missions is important; you attract what you put out into the world so it’s imperative to keep your thought process fresh and confident, as this will help in those decisive moments. Never make any decision based off emotion, take time to consider your options - pause and assess.
CSM: What comeback goals do you want to achieve in 2022?
My comeback goals of 2022 are to striding through new challenges and pushing my boundaries. Getting comfortable in those uncomfortable situations is a big factor for me, you grow and improve in those uncomfortable situations which is key for self-development. Another big area in my life, I want to continue to succeed in is my training and nutrition, look after your body and it will look after you.
CSM: Define confidence and being sexy. I believe confidence is being comfortable in your own skin and accepting every perfection and flaw you have. Owning your traits and who you are is sexy, there is only one of you so get out there and show them.
CSM: How do you standout in a fast-paced and competitive industry?
The modelling industry is so quick and competitive it can be difficult to stand out from the crowd, but being your own unique self is the key. Try new styles, new locations, collaborate with new people! This helps you again step out of that comfort zone and grow.
CSM: Career-wise, how can someone be a good influence to others?
Leading by example is key to influencing others, it one thing to talk about the influential things you want to do with your life, it’s another thing to take those words and put them into actions. If you talk the talk, you must walk the walk. Using your time wisely and putting in that hard work is the best place to start, nothing bad can come from working hard!
CSM: What vital lessons can you share to young people? Surround yourself with like-minded people who really care about you and your goals. Having people that understand you and accept you for you are the foundations to success. Be confident in yourself and what you know is right for you.
ON FITNESS TRAINING AND HEALTHY LIFESTYLE:
CSM: What do you think is the role of food or nutrition in healthy living? Nutrition is a vital part to healthy living. Having a nutritional and balanced diet is not only important physically, but mentally. You need to fuel your body with high quality food to maintain a positive mood and wellbeing which is an important requirement to reach the high goals you set for yourself.
CSM: How can you maintain your consistency of weight or shape? Tracking your food is the secret to maintaining physique and shape. Training hard to work towards your fitness goals, alongside tracking what you eat will get you where you want to be. Be determined, visualize your success and be consistent – Rome wasn’t built in a day.
CSM: What fitness goals do you want to attain?
My fitness goals for 2022 are to continue to build my dream physique with the help of my personal trainer where we constantly assess my nutritional needs to make sure we are on track to increase muscle mass while putting in valuable hours in at the gym.
CSM: What exercises do you consider fundamental? Core and body weight exercises are fundamental to any workout. Having a strong core helps stabilize and protect your big muscle groups which lowers chances of injury, where body weight exercises allow you to build muscle strength, balance, and flexibility.
CSM: What gym etiquette that people must follow?
Respecting personal space is a big one for me. Gyms get crowded, especially during the first few months of the year but you should still try to respect everyone’s personal space, we don’t want to make anyone uncomfortable. Also, it goes without saying but put your equipment back!
CSM: When you’re stressed, how do you manage it?
Recognizing your mental state and that you are stressed is the first tasks if you don’t understand your emotions and how you are feeling you can never begin to deal with it. I personally tend to take some alone time to reflect on the situation I am feeling, taking part in hobbies I enjoy such as the gym or football allows me to turn my attention elsewhere so I can destress and reflect.
CSM: Expound why mental health matters in the digital age. I feel like with the rise of social media, mental health is very important; as we as human beings tend to compare ourselves to others. Positive role models in the social media space are so important to remind us that social media is not real life, and that you are perfect just the way you are.
CSM: Simplify if mental and physical health are connected or not.
Mental health and physical health go hand in hand, if one of these suffers the other will too. Looking after yourself by exercising, eating well, and cutting out any bad habits will help improve your physical and mental health.
CSM: In achieving fitness goals, what do people should remember?
Setting achievable and realistic goals is the first step; settings unrealistic goals you will never reach will have a detrimental effect to your motivation. Set small achievable goals, work hard, smash them out the park and the rest will follow.
CSM: What stereotypes should people break when it comes to physical and mental health? I believe it’s okay not to be okay, and to reach out for help and support when struggling – don’t suffer in silence.
MATTY MARSHALL
ON DIVERSITY, INCLUSIVITY & EQUITY

As a football player myself, we have always advocated from anyone from any walk of life to come a game of football with friends. This helps break down those barriers through sport and a game we all love.
CSM: Describe an ideal brand that
has a sense of inclusion, belonging, and equity on a daily basis?
Maharishi does a great job of inclusion and diversity, where it always uses a diverse selection of models for its runways and collections in terms of age and ethnicity.
CSM: What steps will you take to eliminate bias from other brands or companies?
Modernizing my approach to brands and companies is a keyway I use to help eliminate bias - using new and creative ways to connect with people and get my work out there.
Education will give a strong starting point to help understand why this is important ... increase awareness and encourage others to speak out. ”
