Care lettrici e cari lettori, sta per cominciare un’altra estate, estate che come sempre sarà accompagnata dalla musica dei grandi concerti, dalle arie d’opera, dalle battute dei tanti spettacoli di prosa e dai passi di danza sugli importanti palcoscenici cittadini. Verona d’estate si trasforma, si riempie di suoni e colori, accoglie i turisti e non smette mai di sorprendere i suoi cittadini grazie ai tanti eventi che la animano.

Al via la 102a edizione dell'Arena Opera Festival, che viene inaugurata il 13 giugno con Nabucco per la regia (e non solo) del visionario Stefano Poda e che prosegue tra progetti speciali, serate di gala e serate di opera. Il 27 giugno comincia anche il variegato cartellone dell’Estate Teatrale Veronese con il Festival Shakespeariano, che spegne 77 candeline, le “contaminazioni” musicali, la danza, il teatro per ragazzi e il Settembre classico, tutto sotto il grande titolo Planet Shakespeare declinato quest’anno sul tema “water”. Non mancano poi i grandi concerti al Castello di Villafranca, gli spettacoli a Villa Venier e i vari festival in giro per la città, tra cui Veronetta Contemporanea Festival, per riflettere sulla nostra epoca, e Gambe all'aria al Giardino del Terraglio. Il Teatro Ristori, per l’estate, si trasformerà completamente: entrare in platea significherà immergersi, nel vero senso della parola, nella mostra su Klimt e Shakespeare, un’esperienza unica nel suo genere. E ancora, tanto cinema, tra festival con grandi film e grandi ospiti e serate di proiezioni all’aperto.

Dear readers, another summer is about to begin, a summer that as always will be accompanied by the music of great concerts, opera arias, jokes from the many prose shows and dance steps on the city's important stages. Verona in summer is transformed, filled with sounds and colors, welcomes tourists and never ceases to surprise its citizens thanks to the many events that enliven it.

The 102nd edition of the Arena Opera Festival kicks off, which is inaugurated on June 13 with Nabucco directed (and not only) by visionary Stefano Poda and continues with special projects, galas and evenings of opera. June 27 also marks the start of the varied program of the Veronese Theatre Summer with the Shakespearian Festival, which blows out 77 candles, musical “contaminations,” dance, children's theater and the Classical September, all under the great title Planet Shakespeare declined this year on the theme “water.” There are also great concerts at the Villafranca Castle, shows at Villa Venier and various festivals around the city, including Veronetta Contemporanea Festival, to reflect on our age, and Legs in the Air at the Terraglio Garden.

The Ristori Theater, for the summer, will be completely transformed: entering the stalls will mean immersing yourself, in the true sense of the word, in the Klimt and Shakespeare exhibition, a unique experience. And again, lots of cinema, including festivals with great films and great guests and evenings of outdoor screenings.

“PLANET SHAKESPEARE” AL TEATRO ROMANO

La nuova, incredibile Estate Teatrale Veronese.

Tornano ad accendersi i riflettori su uno dei più importanti cartelloni estivi italiani, quello del Teatro Romano di Verona che dal 27 giugno al 22 settembre sarà il perfetto palcoscenico della 77esima Estate Teatrale Veronese: la rassegna che, a partire dal Festival Shakespeariano, intreccia musica, teatro e danza in un programma caleidoscopico di altissimo livello. Promossa dal Comune di Verona in collaborazione con il Circuito Multidisciplinare Regionale Arteven, con il sostegno del Ministero della Cultura e della Regione Veneto e sponsor AGSM AIM, Banco BPM e Gruppo Vicenzi, è questa la prima stagione del nuovo progetto triennale, PLANET SHAKESPEARE, che trarrà linfa ogni anno da uno degli elementi costitutivi del nostro pianeta – acqua, terra, aria – e da quel pianeta-mondo che il grande drammaturgo rappresenta per la città di

Giulietta. L’ispirazione dell’acqua propone quest’estate un fluire di racconti evanescenti, personaggi plasmabili, sogni in trasmutazione, contaminazioni, ma anche riflessioni sulle urgenze idriche e ambientali.

Sono ben 11 le prime nazionali del ricco cartellone, a partire dalle opere shakespeariane come Otello diretto da Giorgio Pasotti, Riccardo III firmato da Andrea Chiodi, La Tempesta, con la regia del gigante Alfredo Arias, ma anche Rosencrantz e Guildenstern sono morti di Tom Stoppard (per un approfondimento sullo spettacolo leggete l'intervista a Francesco Pannofino a pagina 74).

Non mancheranno i classici intramontabili, capaci di affrontare con tono ironico e disincantato il rapporto uomo-donna – la prima de Gli Innamorati di Goldoni con la regia di Roberto Valerio e Lisistrata con Lella Costa - e le performance multidisciplinari

di ETV in Town che “esondano” al Parco della Provianda al Bastione della Maddalene con Luca Scarlini, i danzatori di Ersiliadanza e il progetto di comunità di Arte3. La partenza a fine giugno sarà però con la musica grazie a “Contaminazioni musicali”: 10 super concerti che intrecciano generi e sonorità dal mondo con i grandi protagonisti della scena internazionale; mentre l’incontro con la “meraviglia” chiama a raccolta grandi e piccini grazie a “Pimpa, il musical a pois” firmato da Altan e d’Alò, per i 50 anni dall’amata cagnolina, e ai fantastici Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo; a chiusura l’atteso Bestiario Idrico di Marco Paolini a richiamare l’attenzione sulle urgenze ambientali.

The spotlight is once again shining on one of Italy's most important summer billboards, that of Verona's Roman Theater, which from June 27 to September 22 will be the perfect

stage for the 77th Veronese Summer Theater: the festival that, starting with the Shakespeare Festival, weaves music, theater and dance into a kaleidoscopic program of the highest level.

Promoted by the City of Verona in collaboration with the Circuito Multidisciplinare Regionale Arteven, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Veneto Region and sponsors AGSM AIM, Banco BPM and Gruppo Vicenzi, this is the first season of the new three-year project, PLANET SHAKESPEARE, which will draw its sap each year from one of the constituent elements of our

planet - water, earth, air - and from that planet-world that the great playwright represents for the city of Juliet. The inspiration of water proposes this summer a flow of evanescent tales, moldable characters, transmuting dreams, contaminations, but also reflections on water and environmental urgencies.

There are no less than 11 national premieres in the rich program, starting with Shakespearean plays such as Othello directed by Giorgio Pasotti, Richard III signed by Andrea Chiodi, The Tempest, directed by the giant Alfredo Arias, but also Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead by Tom Stoppard (for an in-depth look at the show read the interview with Francesco Pannofino on page 74).

There will be no shortage of timeless classics capable of tackling the man-woman relationship with an ironic and disenchanted tone - the premiere of Goldoni's Gli Innamorati directed by Roberto Valerio and Lysistrata with Lella Costa - and the multidisciplinary performances of ETV in Town that “overflow” at the Provianda Park at the Bastione della Maddalene with Luca Scarlini, the dancers of Ersiliadanza and the community project of Arte3. The start at the end of June, however, will be with music thanks to “Musical Contaminations.” 10 super concerts weaving genres and sounds from around the world with the great protagonists of the international scene; while the encounter with “wonder” summons adults and children alike thanks to “Pimpa, the polka-dot musical” signed by Altan and d'Alò, for the 50th anniversary of the beloved pooch, and the fantastic Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo; closing is the long-awaited Bestiario Idrico by Marco Paolini to call attention to environmental urgencies.

La grande musica italiana, da Cristicchi a Gaia.

Pop, rock, jazz, soul, etnica, world music, folk, funk, musica progressive, classica ed elettronica: il cartellone di Contaminazioni Musicali riesce a far convivere esperienze artistiche differenti senza alcun dubbio irripetibili. Dieci concerti imperdibili al Teatro Romano; due sul finale di giugno ed i restanti otto nel mese di luglio.

Si inizia con Cat Power, cantautore statunitense in scena il 27 giugno serata in cui presenterà brano per brano, il leggendario concerto di Bob Dylan del 1966; un momento che ha decretato la svolta elettrica dal folk al rock che cambiò per sempre il corso della musica popolare. Il giorno seguente Paolo Fresu con Richard Galliano e Jan Lundgren presentano storie legate al mare, dal Baltico al Mediterraneo, tra folk, jazz e classica.

Il 29 giugno Stefano Bollani, noto musicista dal talento poliedrico, insieme a Trilok Gurtu che è uno dei più grandi innovatori nell’ambito delle percussioni, celebre per il suo linguaggio originale che unisce la tradizione indiana con la tecnica occidentale, daranno

vita ad un live emozionante dedicato alla musica della Terra.

Il mese di luglio prosegue il 5 con il compositore anglotedesco Max Richter che

ridefinisce la musica classica, tra quella ambient ed elettronica. Diviso tra Londra e Genova ritroviamo il 13 luglio Jack Savoretti che, con il suo

recente album “Miss Italia”, si è riconnesso alle radici liguri dopo una serie di dischi in inglese. Il 19 luglio Simone Cristicchi (vedi approfondimento), accompagnato dal Gnu Quartet, presenta “Dalle tenebre alla luce”. La sera seguente del 20 luglio si mescolano invece funk, jazz e progressive nella proposta dei milanesi Calibro 35, ispirati dal geniale Morricone e dagli altri compositori di colonne sonore dei film polizieschi anni ’70. Un graditissimo ritorno il 26 luglio quello della cantautrice toscana Irene Grandi con “Fiera di me” che celebra i suoi primi 30 anni di carriera passando da blues, pop, canzone d’autore e jazz. Emozione pura il 27 luglio con Goran Bregović e la sua straordinaria Wedding and Funeral Band, che mescolano in modo unico suoni europei a quelli medio orientali. Contaminazioni Musicali si conclude il 28 luglio con la giovane Gaia, affascinante interprete italo-brasiliana, con la quale si torna al pop italiano dopo un Festival di Sanremo 2025 ed il successo social del suo coreografo spagnolo Carlos.

DUE PAROLE CON SIMONE CRISTICCHi

Simone, che tipo di concerto sarà, quello del 19 luglio al Teatro Romano per Contaminazioni Musicali?

«Conterrà sia la parte teatrale, con i miei monologhi, che quella musicale, con le canzoni apparse nei miei album. Saranno presenti quelle che chiamo “le mie due anime”: possiamo dire che sarà teatro canzone con una musicalità molto variegata e nuovi arrangiamenti, scritti per questo tour. Il 14 febbraio scorso, durante il Festival di Sanremo 2025, è uscito il mio nuovo

album, “Dalla tenebre alla luce”, e con il successo che ho riscontrato al Festival ho deciso di ritornare alla musica dal vivo, dopo tanto teatro. Con lo spettacolo più recente, dedicato a San Francesco e intitolato “Franciscus - Il folle che parlava agli uccelli", sono stato in tour per due anni di seguito, con repliche tutte “sold out” (e si intitola “Franciscus”, edito da Baldini + Castoldi, anche il suo ultimo libro scritto con Simona Orlando, ndr). Ho sentito il bisogno e la voglia di incontrare il pubblico di nuovo, facendo questo viaggio “Dalle tenebre alla luce”, un concerto che ho voluto fortemente».

MUSIC FUSION AT THE ROMAN THEATRE

Great Italian music, from Cristicchi to Gaia.

Pop, rock, jazz, soul, ethnic, world music, folk, funk, progressive, classical and electronic music: the programme of Contaminazioni Musicali succeeds in bringing together different artistic experiences that are without doubt unrepeatable. A decalogue of must-see concerts at Verona’s Roman Theatre; two at the end of June and the remaining eight in July. It begins with Cat Power, the American singer-songwriter on stage on 27 June, an evening in which she will present, song by song, Bob Dylan's legendary 1966

concert; a moment that marked the electric shift from folk to rock that changed the course of popular music forever. The following day, Paolo Fresu with Richard Galliano and Jan Lundgren will present stories linked to the sea, from the Baltic to the Mediterranean, between folk, jazz and classical.

On 29 June Stefano Bollani, a well-known musician with a multifaceted talent, together with Trilok Gurtu, who is one of the greatest innovators in the field of percussion,renowned for his signature style fusing Indian classical traditions with Western percussion techniques, will give an exciting live performance dedicated to the music of the Earth.

July continues on the 5th with Anglo-German composer Max Richter, reimagines classical music, blending ambient and electronic elements. Dividing his time between London and Genoa, on 13 July we find Jack Savoretti who, with his recent album “Miss Italia”, has reconnected with his Ligurian roots after a series of records in English. On 19 July, Simone Cristicchi (see in-depth review), accompanied by the Gnu Quartet, presents “Dalle tenebre alla luce”. The following evening, 20 July, funk, jazz, and progressive music are mixed in the proposal of Milan's Calibro 35, inspired by the brilliant Morricone and other composers of soundtracks for 1970s crime films. July will be Tuscan singersongwriter Irene Grandi with ‘Fiera di me’, celebrating her first 30 years of career through blues, pop, songwriting and jazz. Pure emotion on 27 July with Goran Bregović and his extraordinary Wedding and Funeral Band, who uniquely mix European and Middle Eastern sounds. Contaminazioni Musicali concludes on 28 July with the young Gaia, a fascinating ItaloBrazilian performer, with whom there is a return to Italian pop after a 2025 Sanremo Festival and the social success of your Spanish choreographer Carlos.

A FEW WORDS WITH SIMONE CRISTICCHI

Simone, what kind of concert will it be, the one on 19 July at the Roman Theatre for Music Fusion? It will contain both the theatrical part, with my monologues, and the musical part, with songs from my albums. There will be what I call “my two souls”: we can say

that it will be song theatre with a very varied musicality and new arrangements, written for this tour. On 14 February, during the Sanremo Festival 2025, my new album, “Dalla tenebre alla luce”, was released, and with the success I had at the Festival, I decided to return to live music, after so much theatre. With the most recent show, dedicated to St Francis and entitled

“Franciscus - Il folle che parlava agli uccelli” (“Franciscus - The madman who spoke to the birds”), I toured for two years in a row, with replicas all “sold out” (and his latest book written with Simona Orlando is also entitled “Franciscus”, published by Baldini + Castoldi, ed. I felt the need and the desire to meet the public again, making this journey ‘From darkness to light’, a concert that I strongly wanted".

NEK SUL PALCO DEL ROMANO

Oltre trent’anni di carriera

Èuno dei live più attesi di questa estate: Nek al Teatro Romano il 6 luglio.

Cantautore, musicista e conduttore televisivo; Filippo Neviani di gavetta ne ha fatta tanta prima di arrivare ai primi successi musicali. Grande appassionato della musica dei Police e di Sting soprattutto, ha iniziato nei locali vicino a casa, a Sassuolo nel modenese, suonando in diverse band fino ad arrivare alla partecipazione al Festival di Castrocaro nel 1991 e a Sanremo 1993 nella categoria Giovani con la canzone “In te”. Successivamente nel 1997 la consacrazione vera e propria della hit “Laura non c’è”.

Nek ricorda ancora i suoi inizi in questa intervista.

Quale momento della tua carriera ti viene in mente con più affetto o emozione?

«Sceglierne uno solo sarebbe davvero complicato. Gli “inizi” lasciano sempre qualcosa di forte, che normalmente è “Per sempre”. Il primo concerto con la mia prima band (un duo country, in realtà), i Winchester. Ero veramente un ragazzino. La prima volta che mi è capitato di sentire un mio brano in radio, la prima volta sul palco del Festival nel 1993.I primi successi ovviamente, ma anche la prima volta alla conduzione di un programma televisivo. Sono veramente tanti, ed in questo senso mi sento veramente una persona privilegiata e fortunata». Nel concerto al Teatro Romano ripercorreremo tutte le più grandi hit della sua carriera: da brani indimenticabili come la sopracitata “Laura non c’è” insieme a “Fatti avanti amore”, “Lascia che io sia”, “Almeno stavolta”, “Se io non avessi te”, “Unici”, “Sei grande”, “Se una regola c’è” fino ad arrivare alla cover di “Se telefonando”,

eseguita per la prima volta sul palco del Festival di Sanremo nel 2015. Non mancheranno anche “Sei solo tu”, “Uno di questi giorni”, “Ci sei tu” ed “E da qui” e tante, tante altre».

Il suo essere creativo e pieno di iniziative lo ha portato a condurre dapprima radiofonicamente e poi in televisione diversi programmi di successo come “Dalla Strada al Palco”, insieme a Bianca Guaccero su Rai 1, nato da un’idea di Carlo Conti.

Sei anche un affermato presentatore televisivo di successo, questo aspetto, ovvero di portare il pubblico attraverso parole e voce nel tuo percorso musicale, sicuramente non potrà mancare al Teatro Romano.

«Certo! Con il rischio magari di confondere i ruoli, e parlare troppo nel momento in cui in realtà dovrei solo suonare delle canzoni. A parte gli scherzi, è vero, l’esperienza in televisione mi ha in un certo senso aiutato anche a gestire in modo più “completo” i momenti sul palco. Tra l’altro, sul palco di Verona porterò le canzoni più rappresentative di questo mio lungo percorso, è già in sé un racconto che non avrebbe bisogno di parole, ma senz’altro verrà fuori anche qualcosa del conduttore TV».

Tornando alla musica Filippo, con oltre 10 milioni di dischi venduti, 18 album in studio, nel tour estivo 2025 avrà dal vivo una dimensione autentica. Sul palco Emiliano Fantuzzi alla chitarra, Luciano Galloni alla batteria e lo stesso Nek sarà al basso e ovviamente alla voce.

Hai raggiunto tantissimi obiettivi e successi ma hai ancora un sogno da realizzare e se sì, quale?

«Poter continuare a fare quello che faccio sarebbe già una conquista enorme. Senza pormi obiettivi particolari, senza fissare scadenze o alzare asticelle o programmare cose in funzione dell’ottenimento di risultati specifici. A 50 anni compiuti credo di poter dire che quello che vivo quotidianamente, nella vita e nel lavoro, è già un sogno».

NEK ON THE ROMANO STAGE

Over thirty years of career in the live show on 6 July

It is one of this summer's most eagerly awaited live shows: Nek at the Teatro Romano on 6 July. Singer-songwriter, musician and television presenter; Filippo Neviani had to work his way up through the ranks before achieving his first musical successes. A great fan of the music of the Police and Sting above all, he started out in the clubs near his home, in Sassuolo in the Modena area, playing in various bands until he took part in the Castrocaro Festival in 1991 and in Sanremo 1993 in the Young People category with the song “In te”. Then in 1997

came his true breakthrough with the hit "Laura non c’è”.

Nek still recalls his beginnings in this interview.

Which moment in your career do you remember with the most affection or emotion?

'To choose just one would be really complicated. "Beginnings always leave a strong impression –something that usually lasts "forever.””. The first gig with my first band (a country duo, actually), The Winchesters. I was really a kid. The first time I happened to hear one of my songs on the radio, the first time on stage at the Festival in 1993.The first hits of course, but also the first time hosting a TV show. They are really many, and in this sense I feel truly privileged, and lucky'.

The Arena di Verona Opera Festival raises the curtain on edition number 102, scheduled from 13 June to 6 September. Three months of great live performances under the stars, with 5 opera titles and 8 appointments including gala concerts and ballets.

A total of 51 evenings of entertainment in the world's largest and most impressive theatre under the stars.

Inauguration on 13 and 14 June with a new production of Nabucco: direction, sets, costumes, lighting and choreography are entirely by the visionary and multifaceted Stefano Poda, already the signature of Aida in its ‘crystal’ guise in 2023, which returns to the stage on 20 June. Giuseppe Verdi's great opera is also the protagonist with La Traviata, in Hugo De Ana's elegant belleépoque production, and Rigoletto, in Guerra and Del Savio's historical staging. July celebrates the 150th anniversary of the premiere of Carmen and the death of its author Georges Bizet, as well as

the 30th anniversary of Franco Zeffirelli's staging and its debut in the Amphitheatre. For all titles in 2025, the greatest international opera stars return, making every night truly special. More than 100 performers from all over the world for singing, conducting and dancing, with expected debuts and welcome returns among today's most soughtafter performers and the best upand-coming young talents.

In addition to the five opera titles are the evening events: Jonas Kaufmann in Opera, the great tenor returns to the Arena for a gala on 3 August dedicated to Italian opera. Full orchestra and chorus are called upon to perform Orff's Carmina Burana on 15 August, while, in a co-production with Balich Wonder Studio, the multimedia of Viva Vivaldi returns. The Four Seasons immersive concert, on 27 August, exactly 300 years after the publication of the Four Seasons. Dopo la sua ultima Aida “di cristallo” spettacolo che ha portato in scena un intreccio di arti e stili mai visti in Arena, avvicinando all'opera un pubblico nuovo e poliedrico, il maestro Poda torna per

il debutto. Siamo riusciti a raggiungerlo per rubargli qualche indiscrezione e conoscere più da vicino questo grande artista italiano.

Maestro Poda, come definirebbe la sua attività di regista?

Prima di tutto non credo di essere o non mi sento un “regista”. Ho da sempre cercato di

abbattere le barriere tra le discipline, per creare una drammaturgia a tutto campo e non solo di azione o di parola. Da sempre mi ha affascinato la ricerca dei fili nascosti tra architettura e luce, tra scultura e poesia, tra pittura e movimento. Per questo ho speso ogni giorno della mia esistenza disegnando senza sosta, ascoltando… nel carpire i segreti della musica, che da sola può connettere tutte le altre arti, lavorando con gli artigiani in ogni parte del mondo e facendo della ricerca con la danza contemporanea per cogliere una qualche connessione tra emozione e movimento. Siamo troppo abituati, fin dalla scuola elementare, a dividere erroneamente la mente umana in sezioni.

Credo che la missione del teatro e dell’arte sia proprio quella di liberarci da tutte queste barriere, come in un vero, nuovo Umanesimo. Questo mi permette di creare un universo coerente e immersivo, radicalmente diverso da quello che si può trovare al cinema, in televisione, su Netflix…

Quest’anno l’opera lirica veronese alzerà il sipario con il Nabucco, opera da lei firmata… In che modo porterà la Sua visione sul palco? Il mio approccio non è né tradizionale né modernista, basato sul semplice piacere di dire qualcosa di inaudito. In questa produzione, trattandosi di un capolavoro universale, ho voluto

sottolineare l'unità delle arti: Nabucco sarà rappresentato da due polarità che si attraggono e si respingono durante tutta l’azione scenica, fino ad un punto di massima repulsione e scissione, per poi arrivare alla sintesi del finale in cui i due opposti si riconciliano. La metafora è quella dei legami fra le particelle atomiche: dalla loro unione si origina la materia, ma l’Uomo ha scoperto come separarle causando totale distruzione. Il progresso tecnologico rende tutto possibile – e il sovrano babilonese non esita ad usare la sua superiorità materiale contro gli sconfitti, fino ad arrivare a conseguenze drammatiche: l’insegnamento di questo capolavoro è che la razionalità, per essere ben diretta, non può prescindere dalla spiritualità.

Che domande si è fatto, rileggendo questa grande creazione verdiana?

Me ne faccio sempre tante ed in continuazione: non smetto di meravigliarmi dell’infinità del genio verdiano e delle sue intuizioni straordinarie. Tant’è che sono arrivato a sei produzioni di Nabucco, tutte talmente distinte tra loro che ho sempre voglia di ricominciare da zero. Questo é il mistero e la meraviglia dell’opera.

Ciò che mi ispira è la capacità dell'opera di trascendere il suo contesto storico per parlare di temi universali e senza tempo.

Nabucco opens the 2025 Arena Opera Festival

Stefano Poda will sign the direction, scenes, costumes, lights and choreography of the new production of Nabucco, which will inaugurate the Arena di Verona Opera Festival 2025. After his last ‘crystal’ Aida show that brought to the stage an interweaving of arts and styles never seen before in the Arena, bringing a new and multifaceted public closer to the Opera, maestro Poda returns for the debut. We managed to catch up with him to steal a few indiscretions and get to know this great Italian artist more closely.

Maestro Poda, how would you define your activity as a director?

First of all, I don't think I am or don't feel like a “director”. I’ve constantly sought to transcend boundaries between art forms, to create an allembracing dramaturgy and not just action or speech.

I have always been fascinated by the search for the hidden threads between architecture and light, between sculpture and poetry, between painting and movement. That is why I have spent every day of my life drawing incessantly, listening... in unearthing the secrets of music, which alone can connect all the other arts, working with artisans all over the world, and doing research with contemporary dance to unearth some connection between emotion and movement. We are too used, since primary school, to wrongly dividing the human mind into sections. I believe that the mission of theatre and art is precisely to free us from all these barriers, as in a true, new Humanism. This allows me to create a coherent and immersive universe, radically different from what you can find in the cinema, on television, on Netflix...

This year, the Veronese opera will raise the curtain with Nabucco, an opera that you have staged... How will you bring your vision to the stage?

My approach is neither conventional nor avantgarde, based on the simple pleasure of saying something unprecedented. In this production, since it is a universal masterpiece, I wanted to emphasise the unity of the arts: Nabucco will be represented by two polarities that attract and repel each other throughout the stage action, up to a point of maximum repulsion and splitting, only to arrive at the synthesis of the finale in which the two opposites are reconciled. The metaphor is that of the bonds between atomic particles: matter originates from their union, but Man has discovered how to separate them, causing total destruction. Technological progress makes everything possible - and the Babylonian ruler does not hesitate to use his material superiority against the vanquished, even to the point of dramatic consequences: the lesson of this masterpiece is that rationality, to be well directed, cannot do without spirituality.

What questions did you ask yourself, re-reading this great Verdi creation?

I ask myself so many questions, continuously: I never cease to marvel at the infinity of Verdi's genius and his extraordinary insights. So much so that I have come to six productions of Nabucco, all so distinct from each other that I always want to start again from scratch. That is the mystery and wonder of opera. What inspires me is the opera's ability to transcend its historical context to speak of universal and timeless themes.

Tecnologia e arte: verso il futuro della fruizione culturale.

A raccontarci di più è Massimiliano Siccardi, artista visionario, creatore de “L’Opera Immersiva Emozionale” guida del progetto veronese insieme al compositore Luca Longobardi.

La sua è una lunga esperienza nel campo dell’arte immersiva, iniziata negli anni ’90 in Francia con spettacoli “multivisione” che si evolvono con la tecnologia: video, animazioni, musica e intelligenza artificiale che creano una forma narrativa nuova e potente. Il suo lavoro non si limita a riprodurre le opere originali, ma le reinterpreta offrendo una visione personale e fortemente emozionale dell’artista: “un'opera d'arte sull'opera d'arte di un autore.. io mi sono concentrato sull’elemento umano, raccontando la vita degli artisti attraverso le loro opere, la loro vita, la loro gioia e il dolore”.

Siccardi sottolinea, tuttavia, che la tecnologia da sola non basta: “se non c’è un soggetto forte e una sceneggiatura scritta bene, lo spettacolo non funziona… io spero poi che quando uno viene a vedere Klimt a Verona poi vada a Vienna per vedere le opere originali”.

La tecnologia, quindi, come ponte che

stimola e aiuta a far crescere la cultura.

La persona: l’elemento centrale dell’Opera Immersiva Emozionale.

L’idea fondamentale dell’Opera di Saccardi è chiara: “il compito dello spettacolo immersivo è quello di rendere emotivamente forte un messaggio. Lo spettatore diventa attore in un ragionamento del genere, perché quando sei dentro il teatro, come dentro qualsiasi altro spazio, sei piccolo rispetto a queste immagini grandi, ti senti bambino e ritrovi un'intimità infantile e una scoperta del bello che magari avevi perduto”. In un gioco di specchi poi, lo spettatore vede se stesso che cammina dentro le immagini “dovunque ti sposti o ti metta hai una visione completamente diversa, la percezione della realtà è soggettiva, cambia il punto di vista e diventi protagonista”.

Teatro: “luogo magico dove avviene interazione tra azione scenica e vita reale”.

“È una prima esperienza per me e una prima esperienza mondiale di questo lavoro dentro un teatro. Scenograficamente, quando entri nel teatro sei dentro uno spazio immersivo, avvolto dall'immagine a 360 gradi”. Si crea un gioco di contaminazione e commistione tra le arti. “Questo racconto per immagini e suono ti porta verso Shakespeare, un dramma e un'opera danzata per eccellenza, ma anche nel mondo forte della secessione viennese, in questa rivoluzione del segno, del colore e del corpo”.

A multi-sensory immersive journey at the Ristori Theatre.

Get ready for a unique experience, to change the concept of theatre and museum or to imagine a place where these two worlds merge together. From 7 June at the Ristori Theatre, theatre, music, figurative arts and dance come together in the multimedia and multidisciplinary work ‘A timeless kiss - Klimt and Shakespeare in an immersive journey’. Two myths and two kisses that conquer history and time, the iconic one of the father of the Viennese secession Gustave Klimt and the eternal one of Shakespeare that has made our city famous throughout the world. The former's paintings merge with the drama of Romeo and Juliet in a deeply emotional visual and aural narrative that will accompany us throughout the summer. Forget exhibitions with traditional routes, on the stage of the Ristori Theatre the lovers' balcony will be recreated, with an integrated video mapping projection, and the entire audience will be transformed into a single stage. This is immersive art that, by overcoming the distance between us and the works, opens up new perspectives in a journey capable of surprising, moving and making us reflect.

Technology and art: towards the future of cultural enjoyment.

Telling us more about this is Massimiliano Siccardi, visionary artist and creator of "L'Opera Immersiva Emozionale", who leads the Veronese project together with composer Luca Longobardi. His is a long experience in the field of immersive art, which began in the 1990s in France with "Multivision" shows that evolved with technology: video, animation, music and artificial intelligence creating a new and powerful narrative form. His work does not simply reproduce the original works, but reinterprets them by offering a personal and strongly emotional vision of the artist: "a work of art about an author's work of art... I have focused on the human element, telling the story of the artists’ lives through their works, their

lives, their joy and pain". Siccardi emphasises, however, that technology alone is not enough: "if there is not a strong subject and a well-written script, the show cannot be watched... I hope that when one comes to see Klimt in Verona one then goes to Vienna to see the original works". Technology, therefore, as a bridge that stimulates and helps culture grow.

The person: the central element of Emotional Immersive Opera.

The fundamental idea of Saccardi's Opera is clear: "the task of the immersive performance is to make a message emotionally strong. The spectator becomes an actor in such a reasoning, because when you are inside the theatre, as inside any other space, you are small compared to these large images, you feel like a child and rediscover a childlike intimacy and a discovery of beauty that you may have lost". In a game of mirrors then, the spectator sees himself walking inside the images "wherever you move or stand you have a completely different vision, the perception of reality is subjective, the point of view changes and you become the protagonist".

Theatre: "a magical place where interaction takes place between stage action and real life".

"It is a first experience for me and a first world experience of this work inside a theatre. Scenographically, when you enter the theatre you are inside an immersive space, enveloped by the 360 degree image". A play of contamination and mingling of the arts is created. "This tale through images and sound takes you towards Shakespeare, a drama and dance work par excellence, but also into the strong world of the Viennese secession, into this revolution of sign, colour and body".

Un cammino di crescita e innovazione.

Le storie imprenditoriali che affondano le radici nei territori di provincia spesso sono le più sorprendenti. È il caso di Autotorino, nata a Morbegno nel 1965 per iniziativa di Arrigo Vanini. Un’intuizione semplice: percorrere la strada dalla Valtellina a Torino per acquistare auto usate dai dipendenti FIAT e rivenderle in valle. Un piccolo commercio diventato, sessant’anni dopo, la più grande realtà italiana del settore automotive.

Nel 2025 Autotorino festeggia un traguardo che pochi possono vantare: sessant’anni di attività. Sessant’anni trascorsi attraversando trasformazioni economiche, tecnologiche e culturali, restando però

sempre fedele a una visione: fare impresa valorizzando il territorio e le persone.

60 YEARS ON THE ROAD: THE AUTOTORINO STORY

A journey of growth and innovation.

Entrepreneurial stories that have their roots in provincial territories are often the most surprising. Such is the case of Autotorino, founded in Morbegno in 1965 on the initiative of Arrigo Vanini. A simple intuition: travel the road from Valtellina to Turin to buy used cars from FIAT employees and resell them in the valley. A small business that, sixty years later, has become the largest Italian company in the automotive sector.

In 2025 Autotorino celebrates a milestone that few can boast: sixty years in business. Sixty years

spent going through economic, technological and cultural transformations, but always remaining faithful to one vision: to do business by by enhancing the local community and region. They call it ‘Autotorino’ precisely because of those frequent trips along the Po Valley. But it was in 1985, with the generational transition to his son Plinio Vanini, that the company changed pace.

Just 22 years old, with passion and intuition, Plinio transformed the company into something more than a car showroom: it became a point of reference for those seeking not only a car, but also advice. In the 1990s, with the move to Cosio Valtellino and the arrival of the first Asian brands, he introduced showrooms capable of offering tailor-made experiences.

A new commercial culture was established: welcoming, listening, personalisation. In 1999 came the first opening outside Valtellina, in Lecco. From there, a gradual but steady growth, which led the group to expand into several provinces in Lombardy and Emilia. The autotorino.it website, launched in 2008, represents a turning point: an integrated ecosystem between physical and digital experience is born, evolving with technology but maintaining a human face.

In 2015, when it had 11 locations, it made the key acquisition of

23 branches of TT HoldingMalvestiti. Since then, the network and collaborators have multiplied. The group reached strategic cities, including Milan, Turin and Rome, and crossed national borders with the opening of an office in Warsaw. Today, Autotorino is the largest Italian dealer, but it has not lost its ties to its roots. L’8 giugno, Piazzale Castel San Pietro ospiterà la grande finale del XXIII Campionato Veronese di S-ciánco, l’antico gioco popolare che da generazioni unisce la provincia scaligera nel nome della tradizione. In uno degli scenari più iconici della città si chiuderà un viaggio fatto di competizione, cultura e memoria condivisa. Più che

una semplice partita, un modo autentico di vivere il territorio. Sospesa tra panorama mozzafiato e memoria collettiva, la finale rappresenterà il culmine di un percorso lungo tre mesi, che ha portato lo S-ciánco –noto anche come Lippa – nei centri storici e nelle piazze della provincia veronese. L’evento non sarà solo una gara tra i migliori giocatori del torneo, ma una

vera e propria festa popolare. Il Piazzale, con la sua vista suggestiva sulla città, diventerà un campo da gioco a cielo aperto. Sono attesi appassionati, curiosi e famiglie, tutti accomunati dalla voglia di riscoprire un patrimonio culturale che risiede nelle radici della cultura veronese. a Verona, nel quartiere Veronetta, e ha toccato tappe significative come Arcè di Pescantina, Sommacampagna, Cologna Veneta, Marano di Valpolicella e Torri del Benaco, trasformando le piazze in spazi di aggregazione attiva. Non solo competizione, ma esperienza culturale e sociale, in linea con il riconoscimento ottenuto dallo S-ciánco nel 2003 come Patrimonio Culturale Immateriale UNESCO e con l’inclusione nel Registro delle Buone Pratiche dal 2022 attraverso il programma Tocatì. In alcune giornate, il gioco è stato affiancato da altre discipline tradizionali, a sottolineare la ricchezza del patrimonio ludico condiviso, mentre il torneo scolastico del 16 maggio al Parco delle Colombare ha coinvolto anche i più giovani, rendendoli protagonisti attivi della trasmissione culturale.

Il Campionato di S-ciánco si conferma così non solo un torneo sportivo, ma una celebrazione partecipata della memoria e dell’identità veronese. L’appuntamento dell’8 giugno è un invito a vivere il gioco come espressione viva della comunità, tra radici antiche e voglia di stare insieme.

Suspended between breathtaking views and collective memory, the final will mark the culmination of a three-month journey that brought S-ciánco — also known as Lippa — to the historic centers and town squares of the Veronese province. The event will be more than a competition among the best players in the tournament; it will be a true folk celebration. The piazzale, with its stunning view over the city, will become an open-air playing field. Enthusiasts, the curious, and families alike are expected, all united by a desire to rediscover a cultural heritage deeply rooted in Verona’s traditions.

Organized by the Associazione Giochi Antichi (Ancient Games Association), the Championship began on March 23 in Verona’s Veronetta district and made important stops in places like Arcè di Pescantina, Sommacampagna, Cologna Veneta, Marano di Valpolicella, and Torri del Benaco — transforming squares into vibrant hubs of community activity.

More than just a competition, the event is a cultural and social experience, in line with the recognition S-ciánco received in 2003 as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, and its

inclusion since 2022 in the Register of Good Practices through the Tocatì program. On some days, the game was accompanied by other traditional disciplines, highlighting the richness of shared play heritage, while the school tournament held on May 16 at Parco delle Colombare also engaged the youngest participants, making them active protagonists in cultural transmission.

The S-ciánco Championship thus confirms itself as not just a sporting tournament, but a participatory celebration of Verona’s memory and identity. The June 8 event is an invitation to experience the game as a living expression of community — between ancient roots and a shared joy of coming together.

A seconda dello stile architettonico e delle esigenze abitative è possibile integrare gli elementi desiderati in ampie superfici vetrate, con il vetro che si coniuga in maniera ottimale con la muratura, ricoprendo i profili e gli angoli ed estendendosi fino al pavimento.

Il sistema d’oscuramento installato è a frangisole motorizzato, orientabile, finitura grigio metallizzato.

Particolarità: l’ampia apertura scorrevole che si affaccia sulla piscina e al piano superiore, l’accoppiamento ad angolo vetro/vetro con due elementi scorrevoli che si congiungono nel centro. NEW HORIZONS FOR GLASS LOVERS

For this project, Finstral proposed an innovative modular glazing system that provides more light and transparency for new buildings such as this one.

Compared to traditional systems - especially complex glass façades - FIN-Vista offers more room for customisation and the possibility of integrating a variety of opening solutions. Depending on the architectural style and living requirements, it is possible to integrate the desired elements into large glazed surfaces, with the glass blending optimally with the masonry, covering the profiles and corners and extending down to the floor. Specifically for this project: Vista Frameless Alu/alu; colours chosen for the exterior F819 (fine texture grey brown) interior F45 (satin white). The glazing used is 46 mm Multivalor Protect (laminated) + Bodysafe (toughened safety glass) triple glazing with Ug= 0.6 W/m²*k values.

The shading system installed is a motorised, adjustable sunshade, metallic grey finish.

Special features: the large sliding opening overlooking the swimming pool and the upper floor, the glass/glass corner coupling with two sliding elements joining in the centre. Final result appreciated by client and designer arch. Massimo Turcato of O+T Architects, who confided in us: ‘In any project we look for aesthetics and functionality. In this case it had to be a solution that would give transparency to the living area in order to connect the interior and exterior in continuity, and the end result was as designed and planned. One of the reasons why we choose this company is the support and continuous cooperation with the area consultant, geom. Michelini, who is always present’.

The Vista Frameless system offers maximum freedom of composition for its glass wall, in every detail. From the material of the profiles, through colour and shape, to the surface finish, offering a wide choice of variants, with the possibility of also integrating windows, sliding doors or entrance doors.

Starting June 10, the third edition of Sotto le Stelle del Cinema kicks off— an open-air summer film series organized by Believe APS with the support of Circoscrizione 6 of the City of Verona.

The venue is the San Marco multi-purpose square, located in Via Girolamo Dalla Corte in the heart of Borgo Venezia. Sixteen screenings are scheduled—two each week, every Tuesday and Friday evening—turning the square into a starlit arena, complete with a giant screen, seating, and Dolby Surround 5.1 audio, all set up and managed by a dedicated

team of young volunteers, the true driving force behind the project.

The 2025 program offers a rich and stimulating mix of acclaimed films and indie productions. Highlights include Napoli – New York, Conclave, A Complete Unknown, No Other Land, and many more compelling stories waiting to be discovered.

Each evening opens with a special short film screening—a new feature of this year’s edition. These shorts are selected from the Believe Film Festival and showcase the talent of emerging Italian filmmakers. The series launches on June 10 with Tutto il resto è noia, a summer tale set in the streets of Rome.

Tickets are priced at €5 per evening, but there’s also a special subscription deal: all 16 nights for just €35, including a complimentary drink every evening.

VERONETTA CONTEMPORANEA FESTIVAL 2025

Dal 9 al 18 giugno riflessioni sul contemporaneo.

Dieci giorni di cultura e incontri sui linguaggi della contemporaneità: dal 9 al 18 giugno il quartiere di Veronetta diventa protagonista della scena culturale veronese con la quarta edizione del Veronetta Contemporanea Festival, ospitato negli spazi del Polo Santa Marta (via Cantarane 24).

Un appuntamento ormai imprescindibile per la nostra città che dà il via all’estate veronese e che celebra la cultura contemporanea in tutte le sue forme: arte, musica, cinema, poesia, spettacoli e dialoghi.

Il Festival nasce dall’unione di due importanti obiettivi, da un lato promuovere i linguaggi della contemporaneità, già centro del progetto universitario Contemporanea, che promuove le

opere della collezione di arte contemporanea dell'ateneo con una mostra permanente negli spazi del Polo Santa Marta, da cui il festival trae anche origine e ispirazione. Dall’altro rendere il quartiere di Veronetta, già da anni sottoposto a un progetto di riqualificazione urbana, il fulcro culturale dell’intera città. Sede di molte associazioni sociali e culturali, il quartiere si configura come un perfetto laboratorio di integrazione tra varie realtà e diversità culturali; un luogo vivo, aperto all’incontro e al dialogo tra sapere e comunità.

Veronetta Contemporanea Festival è organizzato dall’Università di Verona, insieme all’Accademia Filarmonica e al Comune di Verona, con il contributo dell’Esu Verona e in collaborazione con Agsm-Aim, Biscardo Vini e Medianet.

Non mancheranno un punto ristoro curato dalla cooperativa sociale Panta Rei e allestimenti a cura della cooperativa Reverse. Inoltre, alcune serate saranno arricchite dalla presenza di un angolo libri gestito da Pagina Dodici.

Ci aspettano dieci giorni ricchi di eventi, dove la cultura e le riflessioni sul contemporaneo saranno il filo conduttore di un programma davvero variegato: dalle mostre, ai reading poetici, passando per concerti, proiezioni cinematografiche all’aperto ed eventi per tutte le età.

Ed è anche ai più piccoli, con le loro famiglie, che il Festival si rivolge con uno spettacolo di burattini e una visita guidata alla mostra di Santa Marta pensata per avvicinarli a scoprire l’incredibile mondo dell’arte contemporanea.

A spiegarci di più sull’edizione di quest’anno è Nicola Pasqualicchio, direttore artistico del Festival: «Giunto alla sua quarta edizione, il Veronetta Contemporanea Festival perseguirà ancora il suo obiettivo originario di fondere cultura e intrattenimento, ricerca e socialità, incrociando le vie della grande poesia contemporanea, della performance e della musica più innovativa (ma ci sarà anche un omaggio ai Beatles nel sessantesimo anniversario della loro unica tournée italiana) con la riflessione su temi e problemi tra i più rilevanti del nostro presente. Dai modi in cui cultura ed educazione possono aiutarci ad affrontare quest’epoca di gravi conflitti, all’incontro con le culture extra-europee, dalle nuove forme del volontariato alla vivibilità delle nostre città, solo per citarne alcuni. Quest’anno abbiamo cercato di rendere ancora più accogliente lo spazio antistante la Provianda – conclude Pasqualicchio – dotandolo di più posti a sedere e di ombrelloni, oltre al consueto posto di ristoro,

STen days of culture and meetings on the languages of contemporaneity: from 9 to 18 June, the Veronetta district becomes the protagonist of the Veronese cultural scene with the fourth edition of the Veronetta Contemporanea Festival, hosted in the spaces of the Polo Santa Marta (via Cantarane 24).

An event that is now a must for our city, kicking off the Veronetta summer and celebrating contemporary culture in all its forms: art, music, cinema, poetry, shows and dialogues.

The festival was born from the union of two important objectives: on the one hand, to promote the languages of contemporaneity, already the focus of the university project Contemporanea, which promotes the works of the AGI-Verona collection with a permanent exhibition in the spaces of the Polo Santa Marta, from which the festival also draws its origin and inspiration. On the other, to make the Veronetta district, which has been undergoing an urban redevelopment project for years, the cultural hub of the entire city. Home to many social and cultural associations, the neighbourhood is a perfect laboratory for the integration of various cultural realities and diversities; a living place, open to encounter and dialogue between knowledge and community.

Veronetta Contemporanea Festival is organised by the University of Verona, together with the Accademia Filarmonica and the Municipality of Verona, with the contribution of Esu and in collaboration with Agsm-Aim, Biscardo Vini and Medianet. There will also be a refreshment point organised by the Panta Rei social cooperative and installations by the Reverse cooperative. Moreover, some evenings will be enriched by the presence of a book corner managed by Pagina Dodici.

Ten days full of events await us, where culture and reflections on the contemporary will be the leitmotif of a truly varied programme: from exhibitions to poetry readings, via concerts, open-air film screenings and events for all ages.

And it is also to the youngest children, and their families, that the Festival addresses with a puppet show and a guided tour of the Santa Marta exhibition designed to bring them closer to discovering the incredible world of contemporary art.

Explaining more about this year's edition is Nicola Pasqualicchio, the Festival's artistic director: ‘Now in its fourth edition, the Veronetta Contemporanea Festival will once again pursue its original objective of fusing culture and entertainment, research and sociality, crossing the paths of great contemporary poetry, performance and the most innovative music (but there will also be a tribute to the Beatles on the 60th anniversary of their only Italian tour) with reflection on some of the most relevant themes and problems of our present.

From the ways in which culture and education can help us face this era of serious conflicts, to the encounter with non-European cultures, from new forms of volunteering to the liveability of our cities, to name but a few. This year we have tried to make the space in front of the Provianda even more welcoming,' Pasqualicchio concludes, ’providing it with more seats and umbrellas, in addition to the usual refreshment area, and lighting the entrance in the evening hours, with the intention of transforming it into a piazza animated by students, teachers, and inhabitants of the neighbourhood and the city, who for the ten days of the Festival can exchange ideas and share experiences in an atmosphere of serene conviviality.

LIBROFFICINA BOOKCLUB

Lettura, confronto e aggregazione in Officina18.

Da qualche tempo su Carnet Verona vi chiediamo idee e progetti da ospitare nei nostri spazi, finalmente siamo orgogliosi di presentarvi uno dei progetti nati nel nostro coworking e che vediamo crescere ogni mese. Dialogo e condivisione: strumenti per scoprire aspetti e punti di vista differenti che altrimenti sarebbero impossibili da cogliere durante la lettura. Queste sono le fondamenta su cui Martina Scrimali e Martina Castegnaro hanno costruito LibrOfficina bookclub.

Dallo scorso febbraio, infatti, negli spazi

di Officina18, ogni ultimo mercoledì del mese, lettori e lettrici di Verona si ritrovano per partecipare al ritrovato bookclub di via Nicolò Copernico 18, costretto alla chiusura a causa della pandemia nel 2020.

L’obiettivo principale dell’iniziativa a cadenza mensile è quello di superare la solitudine del lettore condividendo idee e opinioni su un libro appena concluso con chi possiede la stessa passione. «In questo modo chi partecipa al nostro club del libro crea uno spazio sicuro in cui confrontarsi, discutere e, perchè no, vagare con la fantasia», racconta Martina Castegnaro.

Anche la modalità con cui il libro del mese viene scelto è un momento di scambio e condivisione: ogni membro del bookclub propone un titolo, che viene successivamente votato tramite sondaggio da tutti i partecipanti. Il libro con più voti verrà letto da tutti entro l’incontro successivo. «Non esistono limiti di genere o tematiche, l’importante è che si segua il filo conduttore degli incontri “libri per discutere”», spiega Martina Scrimali. Oltre alle discussioni, ultimamente il bookclub sta sperimentando anche incontri con autori e autrici dei libri proposti. Iniziativa apprezzata sia dai membri di LibrOfficina, sia dagli scrittori stessi. LibrOfficina, quindi, si presenta come «un'opportunità per incontrare altre persone che amano i libri, scambiare opinioni, discutere di trame e personaggi e condividere le proprie scoperte letterarie in un ambiente accogliente e stimolante». Reading, discussion and aggregation in Offina18.

For some time now on Carnet Verona we have been asking you for ideas and projects to host in our spaces, finally we are proud to present one of the projects born in our coworking and that we see growing every month.

Dialogue and sharing: tools for discovering different aspects and points of view that would otherwise be impossible to grasp while reading. These are the foundations on which Martina Scrimali and Martina Castegnaro have built LibrOfficina bookclub.

Since last February, in fact, in the spaces of Officina18, every last Wednesday of the month, readers from Verona meet up to participate in the rediscovered bookclub in Via Nicolò Copernico 18, forced to close due to the pandemic in 2020.

The main objective of the monthly initiative is to overcome the reader's loneliness by sharing ideas and opinions on a recently finished book with those who share the same passion. ‘In this way, those who participate in our book club create a safe space in which to compare notes, discuss and, why not, wander with their imagination,’ Martina Castegnaro says.

The way in which the book of the month is chosen is also a moment of exchange and sharing: each bookclub member proposes a title, which is then voted on by all participants via a poll. The book with the most votes will be read by everyone by the next meeting. ‘There are no limits of genre or theme, the important thing is that we follow the thread of the meetings ‘books for discussion’,’ explains Martina Scrimali. In addition to discussions, the bookclub has recently been experimenting with meetings with authors of the books on offer. This initiative is appreciated by both the members of LibrOfficina and the writers themselves.

LibrOfficina, therefore, presents itself as ‘an opportunity to meet other people who love books, exchange opinions, discuss plots and characters

and share literary discoveries in a welcoming and stimulating environment’. But also as ‘an opportunity to diversify reading and to compare various points of view, finding different keys to interpreting different themes’, say some participants in the LibrOfficina meetings.

Arriva GARDA CINEMA Film Festival, manifestazione diretta dal giornalista e critico cinematografico Franco Dassisti, promossa dall’associazione La Decima Musa, presieduta da Domenica Currò, con il patrocinio del Comune di Garda. Dall’11 al 15 giugno, il festival accenderà i riflettori sul Lago di Garda per cinque giornate ricche di proiezioni, incontri, racconti e presenze speciali, tra arte e paesaggio, sulle incantevoli sponde veronesi.

Il tema scelto per questa prima edizione è “Oltre il confine”, inteso come superamento di barriere fisiche, emotive e culturali. Un filo conduttore che guiderà anche la selezione dei film in concorso.

Cuore del programma sarà il Concorso Internazionale Cortometraggi, articolato in due sezioni – fiction e documentari – con 31 opere selezionate da tutto il mondo. Accanto al concorso, spazio alla sezione Genius Loci, dedicata ai giovani registi legati al territorio gardesano, in un dialogo fertile tra identità e innovazione. Tra gli ospiti più attesi: Luca Zingaretti, che presenterà il suo esordio alla regia La casa degli sguardi, tratto dal romanzo di Daniele Mencarelli; Maurizio Nichetti, regista cult che torna al cinema dopo vent’anni con la commedia surreale Amichemai; Edoardo Leo, con Non sono quello

From 11 to 15 June the spotlight is on Garda.

GARDA CINEMA Film Festival arrives, an event directed by journalist and film critic Franco Dassisti, promoted by the La Decima Musa association, chaired by Domenica Currò, with the patronage of the Municipality of Garda. From 11 to 15 June, the festival will turn the spotlight on Lake Garda for five days full of screenings, meetings, stories and special appearances, between art and landscape, on the enchanting shores of Verona.

The theme chosen for this first edition is ‘Beyond the Border’, understood as overcoming physical, emotional and cultural barriers. A common thread that will also guide the selection of films in competition. The heart of the programme will be the International Short Film Competition, divided into two sectionsfiction and documentary - with 31 works selected from all over the world. Alongside the competition, space will be given to the Genius Loci section, dedicated to young directors linked to the Garda area, in a fertile dialogue between identity and innovation. The highlight of the event will be the five gala evenings on the lakefront, where the protagonists of contemporary Italian cinema will be honoured. Inaugurating the festival will be the film Ambra Sabatini - A metre from the finish line by Mattia Ramberti, an emotional tale of the Paralympic athlete, an example of strength and resilience. The evening is organised in collaboration with Società Autostrade. Among the most eagerly awaited guests: Luca Zingaretti, who will present his directorial debut La casa degli sguardi, based on the novel by Daniele Mencarelli; Maurizio Nichetti, a cult director who returns to the cinema after twenty years with the surreal comedy Amichemai; Edoardo Leo, with Non sono quello che sono, an intense reinterpretation of Othello set in the criminal Rome of the early 2000s; Marianna Fontana, who will bring to Garda her new film Luce by Silvia Luzi and Luca Bellino. The Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to maestro Pupi Avati, fresh from the success of his latest film L'orto americano, recently awarded the David di Donatello for the complexity of his work.

Soave si raggiunge da Verona con le linee 121, 130, mentre con la linea 226, che parte da San Bonifacio, si può esplorare la Val d’Alpone. Nella valle del fiume Mincio, a ovest di Verona, si trova Valeggio sul Mincio, un paese ricco di storia che, con il suo Castello Scaligero costruito durante il XIV secolo, è un magnifico esempio di architettura medievale. La presenza del Parco Giardino Sigurtà, considerato come uno dei più suggestivi giardini al mondo, richiama ulteriormente i turisti a visitare questo territorio. Valeggio è raggiungibile da Verona con la linea 160 ed è collegato al Lago di Garda con la linea 482. Da qui, con una passeggiata di pochi minuti, si raggiunge Borghetto, eletto tra i borghi più belli d’Italia. Un altro luogo di grande interesse è il Lago di Garda

raggiungibile da Verona con le linee 163, 164, 185 per Lazise, Bardolino, Garda che, nel periodo estivo, offrono una frequenza di collegamento tra il capoluogo veronese e il Lago di un bus ogni 30 minuti.

The presence of the Parco Giardino Sigurtà, considered one of the most beautiful gardens in the world, further attracts tourists to visit this area. Valeggio can be reached from Verona with line 160 and is connected to Lake Garda with line 482. From here, a few minutes' walk takes you to Borghetto, elected among the most beautiful villages in Italy.

Another place of great interest is Lake Garda, which can be reached from Verona with lines 163, 164, 185 to Lazise, Bardolino, and Garda. During the summer period, these lines offer a connection frequency between the Veronese capital and the lake of one bus every 30 minutes.

Ritornano i tour e i concerti delle star internazionali per la nuova edizione del Villafranca Festival organizzata nello spazio all’aperto del Castello Scaligero di Villafranca. Uno degli eventi in musica più importanti dell’estate veronese, ogni anno alterna sul palco tantissimi artisti del panorama musicale nazionale e internazionale che tornano per una serie di imperdibili concerti. Un cartellone imperdibile grazie al rap di Fabri Fibra, il rock di Stewart Copeland e dei Police, la canzone d’autore di Roberto Vecchioni e Loredana Bertè, il pop di Francesco Renga, la comicità di Enrico Brignano e Pucci, la festa a tutta musica di “Teenage Dream” e la conferenza-spettacolo di Paolo Crepet. Promosso dall’Amministrazione comunale di Villafranca e organizzato da Eventi Verona, mette in fila artisti di livello nazionale e internazionale in un cartellone di alta qualità. Si parte il 10 luglio con il nuovo spettacolo di Enrico Brignano, “Bello di mamma!”, che il comico romano porta in tour quest’estate, dopo il successo a teatro de “I 7 Re di Roma”. Si resta nella storia della musica italiana il 13 luglio con il concerto di di Loredana Bertè che festeggia i “50 da ribelle”, mezzo secolo

di carriera. La scaletta del concerto di Villafranca propone brani leggendari come “Sei bellissima”, “Folle città”, “Il mare d’inverno”, “Dedicato”, “Non sono una signora”, “E la Luna bussò”, vicino a nuovi successi come “Cosa ti aspetti da me”,

“Figlia di…”, “Non ti dico no”. E ovviamente l’hit “Pazza”, Premio della Critica “Mia Martini” a Sanremo 2024. Ospite internazionale il 23 luglio: Stewart Copeland, indimenticabile fondatore e batterista dei Police, porta in tour il progetto “Police deranged for orchestra”, con un ensemble classico e una super rock band. Si ride il 24 luglio con il nuovo show di Andrea Pucci “Amo l’estate”, in cui racconta con ironia e sarcasmo le difficoltà della vita quotidiana, tra aneddoti personali ed esilaranti osservazioni sulla società, con un linguaggio diretto. É il turno poi del rap di Fabri Fibra, atteso il 25 luglio al Castello per la

tappa del suo “Festival tour 2025”. Dopo 20 anni di carriera, il rapper che ora scandaglia su Netflix la “Nuova Scena”, porta in giro per l’Italia uno spettacolo incentrato sui suoi brani più amati, fino a quelli del recente album “Caos”. Il 26 luglio, a chiudere il mese di spettacoli al Castello, il party “Teenage Dream”, una grande festa con la miglior musica, da cantare e da ballare, degli anni 2000. The tours and concerts of international stars return for the new edition of the Villafranca Festival, held in the open-air setting of the Scaligero Castle in Villafranca. One of the most important music events of the Veronese summer, the festival brings a wide range of national and international artists to the stage every year, offering a

series of unmissable concerts.

This year's impressive lineup includes the rap of Fabri Fibra, the rock of Stewart Copeland and The Police, the singer-songwriter style of Roberto Vecchioni and Loredana Bertè, the pop of Francesco Renga, the comedy of Enrico Brignano and Pucci, the musical party “Teenage Dream”, and the theatrical conference by Paolo Crepet. Promoted by the Municipality of Villafranca and organized by Eventi Verona, the festival features a high-quality schedule with top-tier national and international performers.

The festival kicks off on July 10 with Enrico Brignano and his new show “Bello di mamma!”, which the Roman comedian is taking on tour this summer after the success of his stage play “I 7 Re di Roma”.

On July 11, Paolo Crepet takes the stage at the castle with his new theatrical talk “Il reato di pensare” (The Crime of Thinking), which the sociologist-psychiatrist describes as “a barely perceptible barbed wire that inhibits the minds of those who still dare to imagine, without fearing their own thoughts.”

On July 12, the tone shifts as Francesco Renga performs at the castle, celebrating 20 years since his Sanremo Festival win in 2005.

“Angelo-Venti” is a concert that retraces his career, from the rock of the ’80s and ’90s to pop and singersongwriter music of the 2000s.

July 13 is dedicated to Italian music legend Loredana Bertè, celebrating her “50 years of rebellion” — half a century in the industry. The Villafranca setlist will feature legendary hits such as “Sei bellissima”, “Folle città”, “Il mare d’inverno”, “Dedicato”, “Non sono una signora”, and “E la luna bussò”, along with more recent tracks like “Cosa ti aspetti da me”, “Figlia di…”, “Non ti dico no”, and of course “Pazza”, winner of the “Mia Martini” Critics’ Prize at Sanremo 2024.

More Italian songwriting takes center stage on July 17 with Roberto Vecchioni, on his summer stop of the “Tra il silenzio e il tuono Tour”. Known as “the professor of Italian music,” he will be joined by his band in a concert named after his latest literary work, published by Einaudi in 2024 and topping bestseller charts. The title is drawn from the lyrics of one of his bestknown songs, “Chiamami ancora amore”, with which he won the Sanremo Festival in 2011.

On July 23, international guest Stewart Copeland, legendary founder and drummer of The Police, will bring his “Police Deranged for Orchestra” project to the stage, featuring a classical

ensemble and a top-tier rock band.

Laughter takes over on July 24 with Andrea Pucci, performing his new comedy show “Amo l’estate” (I Love Summer), in which he humorously reflects on everyday struggles, blending personal anecdotes with sharp social commentary.

Then comes the turn of Fabri Fibra on July 25, who will bring his “Festival Tour 2025” to the castle. Celebrating 20 years in the business, the rapper — currently starring in Netflix’s “Nuova Scena” — presents a show featuring his most beloved hits, including those from his latest album “Caos.”

Closing out the month on July 26, the festival will end with “Teenage Dream”, a big party celebrating the best music of the 2000s — made to sing and dance along to.

Anche quest’anno non può cominciare l’estate senza un appuntamento diventato ormai fisso nel panorama teatrale della nostra città, attesissimo sia dai grandi che dai più piccoli: è il Festival Gambe all’Aria.

Giunto alla sua quinta edizione il Festival, progetto di Bam!Bam!Teatro e Fucina Culturale Machiavelli, si presenta con due anime: una formativa con campus per bambini e ragazzi; e una culturale con tre serate di teatro e musica pensate per tutte le età.

Il luogo che ospiterà l’evento inoltre, come l’anno scorso, è un’occasione per scoprire un angolo verde nascosto nel

cuore della città, il Giardino del Terraglio, all’incrocio tra via Nievo e via Madonna del Terraglio, proprio a due passi dal Teatro Fucina Machiavelli e da

Ponte Pietra. Si rinnova infatti la collaborazione con la Polisportiva Nievo sia per il festival che per i campus, permettendo così ai giovani artisti di passare in un balzo dal prato al palco di Fucina per un’esperienza formativa davvero unica.

Campus di teatro e musica

In questa edizione 2025, sono due i campus pensati per i più piccoli, in cui bambini e bambine potranno compiere un viaggio che li porterà alla scoperta del teatro o a giocare con gli strumenti musicali. I campus “1,2,3 sipario!” (scuola primaria – esclusa la quinta) tenuto da Antonella

Carli dal 9 al 20 giugno e “Music Camp” (scuola primaria) di Rebecca Saggin dal 9 al 13 giugno.

Pensato per i più grandi, invece, ragazzi e ragazze dalla quinta elementare alla prima superiore, che vogliono vivere l’avventura del teatro è “Tutti in Scena”, dal 23 giugno al 4 luglio con Antonella Carli e Jessica Grossule. Mentre per chi ha già le basi di qualche strumento e vuole cimentarsi nel laboratorio di musica di insieme c’è “School of Rock” (dai 12 ai 18 anni), guidato da Giacomo Trivellon, dal 16 al 27 giugno.

Le serate del Festival

Il 26, 27 e 28 giugno ci aspettano tre serate con spettacoli dal vivo di alta qualità e ogni giornata è dedicata e pensata a una specifica fascia d’età, dai bambini, ai ragazzi e adulti per tre appuntamenti imperdibili. Si comincia il 26 con il contest Band on Air dedicato alla promozione dei talenti musicali locali con un comune denominatore: la musica originale! Le quattro band che sono state selezionate si sfideranno a colpi di rock/folk/ funk sul palco sotto le mura, in una serata in cui anche il pubblico sarà chiamato a votare. Il 27 giugno è la serata

dedicata alle famiglie che culminerà con lo spettacolo di Bam!Bam!Teatro dedicato ai più piccoli, La guerra dei bottoni. Ispirato al romanzo di Louis Pergaud, La guerra dei bottoni è ambientato a Longeverne, un paesino della Francia, dove ogni anno all'inizio della scuola i ragazzi iniziano una “campagna bellica” contro i ragazzi di Verlains. La “guerra”, feroce e senza alcuna esclusione di colpi, viene condotta con spade di legno, sassi, fionde e i disgraziati che cadono nelle mani del nemico vengono privati di tutti i bottoni, degli elastici e delle cinture.

Per evitare la collera dei genitori i bambini di Longeverne escogiteranno un piano geniale. Età consigliata dai 6 anni.

Infine, il 28 giugno il gran finale del festival con Pigiama Party, uno spettacolo sulla fine dell'adolescenza e su un'età adulta che ha dimenticato le possibilità sociali del gioco immaginativo. Scritto e diretto da Antonio “Tony” Baladam e co-prodotto da Teatro Gioco Vita e La Piccionaia, è uno spettacolo che mette in scena un meccanismo comico perfetto e paradossale, raccontando i nostri tempi ma parlando apparentemente di tutt'altro.

Tutte e tre le giornate del

Festival inizieranno alle 18.30 con laboratori e workshop a tema, che apriranno le danze in attesa dello spettacolo serale delle 21. Inoltre, all’interno del festival sarà presente un bar dedicato dove si potrà cenare.

June campus and from June 26-28 three evenings of music and theater at the Nievo.

Once again this year, the summer cannot begin without an appointment that has become a fixture in our city's theatre scene, eagerly awaited by both adults and children: it is the Gambe all'Aria Festival.

Now in its fifth edition, the Festival, a project of Bam!Bam!Teatro and Fucina Machiavelli, has two souls: an educational one with campuses for children and young people; and a cultural one with three evenings of theatre and music designed for all ages.

The venue that will host the event is also, like last year, an opportunity to discover a hidden green corner in the heart of the city, the Terraglio Garden, at the crossroads between Via Nievo and Via Madonna del Terraglio, just a stone's throw from the Teatro Fucina Machiavelli and Ponte Pietra. In fact, the collaboration with Polisportiva Nievo has been renewed for both the festival and the summer camps, allowing young artists to go in a leap from the lawn to the stage of Fucina for a truly unique training experience.

Theatre and music camps

In this 2025 edition, there are two campuses designed for the youngest children, where boys and girls will be able to go on a journey that will lead them to discover theatre or play with musical instruments. The campuses ’1,2,3 curtain!’ (primary school - excluding fifth grade) held by Antonella Carli from 9 to 20 June and ‘Music Camp’ (primary school) by Rebecca Saggin from 9 to 13 June. Designed for older boys and girls

from fifth grade to first grade who want to experience the adventure of theatre is ‘Tutti in Scena’, from 23 June to 4 July with Antonella Carli and Jessica Grossule. While those who already have the basics of some instruments and want to try their hand at ensemble music workshop is ‘School of Rock’ (12 to 18 years old), led by Giacomo Trivellon, from 16 to 27 June.

Festival evenings

The four bands that have been selected will compete against each other in rock/folk/funk on the stage under the walls, in an evening in which the public will also be called upon to vote. 27 June is the evening dedicated to families, which will culminate with Bam!Bam!Teatro's show dedicated to children, The War of the Buttons. Inspired by Louis Pergaud's novel, The War of the Buttons is set in Longeverne, a small village in France, where every year at the start of school the boys begin a ‘war campaign’ against the

Verlains. The fierce and no-holdsbarred ‘war’ is waged with wooden swords, stones, slingshots and the unfortunate ones who fall into the hands of the enemy are stripped of all their buttons, rubber bands and belts. To avoid the wrath of their parents, the children of Longeverne come up with an ingenious plan. Recommended age 6 and up. Finally, on 28 June the festival's grand finale with Pigiama Party, a play about the end of adolescence and an adulthood that has forgotten the social possibilities of imaginative play. Written and directed by Antonio ‘Tony’ Baladam and co-produced by Teatro Gioco Vita and La Piccionaia, it is a show that stages a perfect and paradoxical comic mechanism, recounting our times but apparently talking about something else entirely. All three days of the Festival will begin at 6.30 p.m. with themed workshops and laboratories, which will open the dances in anticipation of the evening show at 9 p.m. There will also be a dedicated bar where one can dine. Il running incontra la città tra le sue mura.

C’è un confine che non separa, ma unisce: quello delle Mura di Verona.

Ed è proprio lì che si svolge il Mura Urban Trail, l’unico evento podistico che si snoda interamente all’interno della cinta muraria cittadina, trasformando strade, salite, sentieri e scorci storici in un itinerario sportivo e culturale unico nel suo genere.

L’edizione 2025, in programma il 14 giugno, propone tre percorsi di diversa lunghezza e difficoltà, pensati per tutti: dai meno competitivi ai trail runner più esperti. Il tutto incorniciato dall’atmosfera vivace del Mura Festival, la manifestazione che anima per tutta l’estate i Bastioni con musica, street food, incontri, attività per famiglie e arte urbana, rendendo l’esperienza ancora più completa e coinvolgente.

Partenza e arrivo saranno infatti al Bastione di San Bernardino, dove per tutta la giornata sarà attivo un vero e proprio Village: talk, intrattenimento, musica e ottimi food truck

accoglieranno atleti e pubblico, offrendo momenti di condivisione prima e dopo la corsa. Un punto d'incontro tra sport e socialità, pensato per trasformare la gara in un'esperienza completa.

La sfida più accessibile è quella dell’8K Monumental, una corsa o camminata non competitiva e notturna, aperta a chiunque voglia vivere la città da una prospettiva nuova. Il percorso si sviluppa tra tratti cittadini e alzaie del fiume, fino a raggiungere Castel San Pietro, punto panoramico tra i più iconici di Verona. Ideale per chi desidera scoprire la città correndo, ma senza l’assillo del cronometro.

Più impegnativa è la 16K Brave, competitiva e riservata ai tesserati con certificato medico sportivo agonistico. Con i suoi 400 metri di dislivello positivo, alterna tratti di asfalto a sentieri, immergendo i partecipanti in un itinerario dinamico, tra natura e architettura urbana.

Infine, la 30K Wild è la vera prova da trail runner. Con circa 1.000 metri di dislivello, affronta

salite, discese e passaggi in single track che mettono alla prova resistenza e orientamento. Una corsa “selvaggia”, ma sempre dentro i confini della città, capace di sorprendere anche i runner più esperti.

Ma il Mura Urban Trail non è solo una gara: è un’occasione per vivere Verona in modo attivo, scoprendo la sua anima antica passo dopo passo, dentro un circuito che parla di sport, territorio e identità condivisa.

The route winds through city streets and riverbanks, reaching **Castel San Pietro**, one of Verona’s most iconic scenic spots. It’s perfect for those who want to explore the city while running—without the pressure of a stopwatch.

More demanding is the **16K Brave**, a competitive race reserved for registered athletes with a valid sports medical certificate. With 400 meters of elevation gain, it combines paved roads with trails, immersing participants in a dynamic route through both nature and urban architecture.

Finally, the **30K Wild** is the true trail runner’s test. With around 1,000 meters of elevation gain, it features climbs, descents, and single-track sections that challenge endurance and navigation. A “wild” race—yet still within the city’s borders—designed to surprise even the most experienced runners.

But the Mura Urban Trail is more than just a race: it’s a chance to experience Verona in an active way, discovering its ancient soul step by step, within a circuit that celebrates sport, local identity, and a shared sense of place.

Cosa conferire nell’umido?

Cos’è il compost?

Continuando il nostro approfondimento sui rifiuti e sul loro corretto smaltimento, arriviamo alla raccolta differenziata dell’umido. Solo avanzi di cibo? E soprattutto, tutto ciò che è scarto della cucina?

In questo bidone via libera agli avanzi di cibo anche crudi, a bucce e scarti di frutta e verdura, alla cenere, ai fondi di caffè, a qualche fiore reciso e ai cibi scaduti o andati a male. Questi ultimi, però, rigorosamente senza involucri contenitivi o imballaggi. Ci sono però alcuni scarti di cucina che non vanno buttati nell’umido: un esempio? I gusci dei frutti di mare: cozze, vongole e capesante devono finire direttamente nel secco, mentre i carapaci dei crostacei

possono andare nel bidoncino giallo. Sì, invece, ai gusci delle uova. No a polvere, capelli e altri residui come i peli degli animali domestici, e nemmeno ai liquidi. Bisogna fare particolare attenzione agli oli alimentari esausti che possono diventare un grande inquinante e infatti vanno conferiti negli appositi contenitori, arancioni o neri. Alle volte diventa fondamentale anche dividere i vari materiali che compongono un rifiuto: il filtro del tè, ad esempio, va buttato nell’umido solo dopo aver tolto l’etichetta, generalmente di carta, e la graffetta, che invece va buttata nel secco non riciclabile. Vanno conferiti tra i rifiuti organici anche molte delle stoviglie usa e getta di ultima generazione: piatti in polpa di

cellulosa, posate in amido di mais, bicchieri che sul fondo hanno il marchio PLA, sono tutti biodegradabili e compostabili.

Di pari passo alla raccolta dell’umido va il compost domestico, una possibilità diversa per il riutilizzo di scarti di cucina e materiale verde che viene prodotto dai lavori di sistemazione di orti e giardini. Fare il compostaggio, infatti, è un’ottima opportunità per creare un terriccio ricco di nutrienti, con materiale che diventerebbero scarto. Foglie secche, residui di coltivazioni, residui di cucina e derivanti dalla pulizia di frutta e ortaggi, messi nelle apposite compostiere (si possono sia comprare che costruire in autonomia a casa), possono diventare così un vantaggio per il nostro orto e giardino. WET WASTE AND COMPOST FOR TABLE AND FOOD WASTE

What to put in the wet waste bin? What is compost?

Continuing our insight into waste and its proper disposal, we come to the separate collection of wet waste. Only food leftovers? And above all, everything that is kitchen waste? In this bin, the green light is given to food leftovers, even raw food, fruit and vegetable peelings and scraps, ashes, coffee grounds, some cut flowers and expired or spoiled food. The latter, however, strictly without wrappers or packaging. There are, however, some kitchen scraps that should not be disposed of in the wet waste bin: an example? Seafood shells: mussels, clams and scallops should go directly into the dry bin, while shells of crustaceans can go into the yellow bin. Yes, however, to egg shells. No to dust, hair and other residues such as pet hair, nor to liquids. Particular attention must be paid to used cooking oil, which can become a major pollutant and should be disposed of in the appropriate

orange or black bins. Sometimes it is also essential to separate the various materials that make up a piece of waste: the tea filter, for example, should be disposed of in the wet waste bin only after removing the label, which is generally made of paper, and the paper clip, which should be disposed of in the nonrecyclable dry waste bin.

Many of the latest generation of disposable crockery should also be disposed of as organic waste: cellulose pulp plates, maize starch cutlery, glasses that have the PLA mark on the bottom, are all biodegradable and compostable. Hand in hand with the collection of wet waste goes home composting, a different possibility for the reuse of kitchen scraps and green material produced by landscaping. Composting, in fact, is an excellent opportunity to create a nutrientrich soil from material that would otherwise become waste. Dried leaves, crop residues, kitchen scraps and waste from cleaning fruit and vegetables, placed in the appropriate compost bins (you can either buy them or build them yourself at home), can thus become an asset for our garden and vegetable garden. L’ESPERTO RISPONDE

Fazzoletti e scottex si buttano nell’umido?

I fazzoletti, i tovaglioli di carta e gli scottex sporchi vanno buttati nell’umido sì, purché non siano stati utilizzati con prodotti chimici che si usano per la pulizia, in questo caso andrebbero conferiti nell’indifferenziato. L’abbiamo già scritto il mese scorso, ma meglio ripetersi: al bidone dell’umido sono destinate anche alcune delle carte forno ad oggi in commercio, quelle non sbiancate con agenti chimici (che vanno conferite con il secco indifferenziato). Una volta utilizzata, infatti, è spesso sporca e unta. Dunque, al contrario di ciò che sembrerebbe ovvio, non va mai buttata nella carta. Una soluzione maggiormente amica dell’ambiente è quindi quella di scegliere carte forno non sbiancante, biologiche e compostabili che possono essere buttate nel secchio dell'umido, anche quando unte e sporche: si tratta infatti di materiale del tutto organico.

Soiled handkerchiefs, paper napkins and paper towels should be disposed of in the organic waste bin, provided they have not been used with cleaning chemicals, in which case they should be disposed of in the non-differentiated waste bin. IN CITTÀ CON LA NUOVA HYUNDAI INSTER

Ebbene sì ho guidato per la prima volta una City-Suv totalmente elettrica e non volevo più separarmene! Questo è l’effetto che fa la nuova Hyundai Inster. Sono stata alla concessionaria Fratelli Lovato, sede che potete

trovare in via Flavio Gioia 7 a Verona (comodissima perché vicino all’uscita autostradale di Verona Sud) per provarla e effettuare un test drive. Non avendo mai guidato un’automobile totalmente elettrica insieme a me c’era

Matteo che mi ha spiegato tutto in merito a questo nuovo “gioiellino” di casa Hyndai. Pratica, veloce, spaziosissima all’interno, dotata di ampio bagagliaio, in città ha una autonomia di quasi 500 km. Subito ho aperto il bagagliaio,

perché è davvero la prima cosa che osservo in una autovettura e riposto la mia borsa di lavoro siamo partiti; dopo aver lasciato la concessionaria, mi sono diretta, sempre accompagnata da Matteo come vi dicevo, verso Corso Porta Nuova e poi girando per le vie limitrofe a Piazza Cittadella. L’occasione era non solo il capire dove fossero collocate le colonnine di ricarica in città (non avevo mai notato fossero così tante, ma in ogni caso Hyundai Inster è dotata di

un grande schermo all’interno che segnala dove trovare la più vicina) ma anche andare in centro per seguire una conferenza stampa. Dopo aver parcheggiato, Matteo mi ha spiegato che volendo si può impostare l'aria condizionata in estate o il riscaldamento in inverno, in modo da trovare al momento dell'accensione la Inster confortevole in ogni stagione. Inoltre, sempre utilizzando il cellulare, si può aprire o chiudere direttamente l'autovettura

soltanto avvicinandolo alla maniglia esterna dello sportello. Dopo esserci salutati, causa il mio impegno di lavoro, ci siamo ritrovati dopo circa un’oretta per ripartire nuovamente per le vie cittadine. La Inster è piccola, 382 cm di lunghezza, ma solida e veramente moderna. Tutti i sedili sono abbattibili, per permettere di riposare o caricare oggetti di grandi dimensioni. Yes, I drove a fully electric City-Suv for the first time and I never wanted to part with it again! That's the effect the new Hyundai Inster has. I went to the Fratelli Lovato dealership, located at Via Flavio Gioia 7 in Verona (very convenient because it is near the Verona Sud motorway exit) to try it out and take a test drive. Never having driven a fully electric car before, I was accompanied by Matteo who explained everything about this new Hyndai ‘jewel’. Practical, fast,

spacious inside, with a large boot, it has a range of almost 500 km in the city. I immediately opened the boot, because that's really the first thing I look at in a car, and after stowing my work bag, we set off. After leaving the dealership, I headed, again accompanied by Matteo as I told you, towards Corso Porta Nuova and then around the streets surrounding Piazza Cittadella. The occasion was not only to find out where the recharging stations were located in the city (I had never noticed there were so many, but in any case Hyundai Inster has a big screen inside indicating where to find the nearest one) but also to go downtown to attend a press conference. After parking, Matteo explained to me that if you want,

you can set the air conditioning in summer or the heating in winter, so that when you turn on the ignition you will find the Inster comfortable in any season. In addition, again using the mobile phone, you can open or close the car directly just by bringing it close to the outside door handle. After saying goodbye to each other, due to my work commitments, we met up again after about an hour or so to set off again through the city streets. The Inster is small, 382 cm long, but solid and truly modern. All the seats can be folded down, allowing you to rest or load large objects. The ride is smooth and quiet (it feels like I've been driving it forever) and after a morning spent in the city, it's time to head back to the dealership. When we arrive, Matteo explains to me how to recharge the Inster, which has a practical flap at the front of the car, and how in just 30 minutes 80% recharging can be achieved using a DC fast-charging station. Si chiama Acquolina la nuova web App lanciata da VeronaUp, il network veronese di servizi turistici per il mondo business. Un nome evocativo per uno strumento che nasce con tre obiettivi: valorizzare la ristorazione del territorio veronese, offrendo a tutti gli imprenditori di settore della provincia un’ulteriore opportunità di promozione per il proprio locale; far conoscere Verona e provincia, permettendo agli utenti di scoprire luoghi, tradizioni enogastronomiche e sapori tipici; agevolare la ricerca di un tavolo

al ristorante e la conseguente prenotazione da parte di turisti e consumatori in genere.

L’ambizioso progetto, patrocinato da Confcommercio Verona, Fipe Verona e Federalberghi Verona e provincia, si avvale del contributo della Camera di Commercio di Verona.

Nel concreto, Acquolina si propone di ottimizzare la comunicazione tra albergatori, ristoratori e utenti, migliorando l’esperienza complessiva per tutte le parti coinvolte, attraverso una "Progressive Web App" che non deve essere scaricata dagli store,

ma è consultabile direttamente online. E rappresenta un vero facilitatore: i ristoratori saranno chiamati ad aggiornare in tempo reale la disponibilità dei tavoli, semplificando la ricerca del locale ideale da prenotare.

I fruitori hanno a disposizione una barra di navigazione smart con una funzione ricerca con doppia visualizzazione (lista locali e mappa) e filtri per agevolare l'individuazione dell'attività ideale; ma anche quiz per “inquadrare” tipologia di cucina, atmosfera, costo e posizione preferita. Una volta fatte le scelte, i ristoranti appaiono in ordine di disponibilità dei tavoli e di vicinanza. All’interno della scheda descrittiva dei pubblici esercizi sono riportate numerose informazioni, in primis il menù e poi video, gallery fotografica, recensioni.

Il pulsante di prenotazione accompagna l'utente lungo tutta la pagina; al clic, si apre una finestra che permette di riservare tramite chiamata telefonica o messaggio WhatsApp, utilizzando il

codice fornito da Acquolina.

La stagione più bella dell’anno è arrivata, e con lei la voglia di vacanze o, almeno, di gite fuori porta! Ecco perché questa volta vi propongo qualcosa di diverso: non alla scoperta di un singolo luogo ma di un’intera città che possiamo raggiungere comodamente con un treno diretto da Verona in poche ore e visitare in giornata facilmente. Venite con me alla scoperta di Innsbruck!

Maria – Theresien Strasse

La mia giornata non può non partire da questa via: una delle più eleganti e importanti della città. Vi si affacciano suntuosi palazzi nobili per lo più barocchi ma anche edifici dall’architettura moderna in un mix armonioso che caratterizza l’intera città.

È una strada vivace con molti negozi, tra cui boutique storiche,

tantissimi locali e tradizionali cafè con tavolini esterni dove potersi fermare per una pausa, o una colazione nel mio caso, godendo di un panorama tra i più scenografici di Innsbruck: la vetta della Nordkette che disegna in alto lo sfondo fondendosi alla

perfezione con i monumenti e le bellezze artistiche della via.

Tra i più importanti: l’arco di trionfo, nell’imbocco sud, fatto erigere nel 1774 dall'imperatrice

Maria Teresa d’Austria per celebrare le nozze del figlio; e la colonna di sant’Anna che si innalza in mezzo alla via, eretta per festeggiare la liberazione della città dalle truppe bavaresi durante la guerra di successione spagnola, avvenuta proprio nel giorno dedicato alla Santa, il 23 luglio 1703.

Il Tettuccio d’OroGoldenes Dachl

Proseguo verso il cuore del centro storico e non posso non fermarmi ad ammirare il simbolo di Innsbruck. Con le sue 2.657 tegole di rame dorato e le ricche decorazioni ad affresco e a rilievo, il Tettuccio d’oro è conosciuto in tutto il mondo. Fatto costruire dall'imperatore

Massimiliano I tra il 1497 e il 1500, è un vero capolavoro tardogotico e rinascimentale. Sono presenti gli stendardi dell'Austria e del Tirolo, scene di danza e della vita di corte, tra cui i ritratti dello stesso imperatore con la prima e la seconda moglie.

Duomo di San Giacomo

A pochi passi, in Domplatz, è presente l’edificio sacro più importante di Innsbruck, la sua cattedrale. Uno degli esempi più significativi del barocco tirolese, colpisce per l’imponente facciata concava chiusa ai lati da due torri identiche e all’interno per i suntuosi spazi, i soffitti affrescati e la celebre e venerata immagine della “Madonna Ausiliatrice”, opera di Lukas Cranach il Vecchio. Non potete perdervi la sua visita a mezzogiorno: comincerà a suonare il Carillon della Pace, il più grande d’Austria con ben 57 campane, pensato per diffondere un messaggio di pace e armonia per tutta la città, un’esperienza davvero suggestiva!

Palazzo Imperiale – Hofburg

Dopo una pausa in un ristorante tradizionale del centro ora è il momento di visitare uno dei palazzi più importanti degli Asburgo.

Entrare è come tornare indietro nel tempo e rivivere l’atmosfera nobiliare della casata reale. È impossibile non lasciarsi coinvolgere dal fascino delle sue

stanze, tra cui la sfarzosa Sala dei Giganti e immaginarsi in uno dei tradizionali balli di corte. Da non perdere anche gli appartamenti dell’amata imperatrice Sissi.

Fiume Inn

Ora la mia giornata è conclusa, è tempo di tornare in stazione e prendere il treno che in tutto comfort mi riporterà a casa . Ma prima un aperitivo in uno dei locali che si affacciano sul fiume Inn in prossimità del ponte che dà il nome alla città, da cui posso ammirare come fosse una cartolina il panorama con le bellissime case colorate.

Roof is a stunning late Gothic and early Renaissance masterpiece. Commissioned by Emperor Maximilian I between 1497 and 1500, it features heraldic emblems of Austria and Tyrol, lively court scenes, and portraits of the emperor with both of his wives.

Just steps away in Domplatz, stands the city’s most important sacred building. A gem of Tyrolean Baroque, the cathedral impresses with its concave façade flanked by twin towers, lavish interior, frescoed ceilings, and the renowned painting of the “Madonna of Succor” by Lucas Cranach the Elder. Questa rubrica normalmente vi offre una selezione di spettacoli sui palcoscenici cittadini; oggi però, visto che vi abbiamo già presentato tutte, o quasi, le rassegne nelle pagine precedenti, ho deciso di parlare dello spettacolo d’apertura dell’Estate Teatrale Veronese, con un’intervista al suo protagonista a cui abbiamo dedicato anche la copertina, Francesco Pannofino.

Ad aprire il 77° Festival Shakespeariano dell’Estate Teatrale Veronese, infatti, quest’anno sarà Rosencrantz e Guildenstern sono morti, un testo del commediografo inglese Tom Stoppard.

La tragicommedia, che rientra nel genere del teatro dell’assurdo, narra le vicende di due personaggi minori dell’Amleto di Shakespeare, Rosencrantz e Guildenstern appunto, i quali

vengono convocati alla corte del re di Danimarca con il compito di aiutare Amleto e soprattutto comprendere se egli sia davvero diventato pazzo o stia fingendo.

Con la regia del veronese Alberto Rizzi, questa messinscena ricorre alla commedia dell’arte per esaltare la potenza comica dell’opera di Stoppard.

In scena un grande carro che si trasforma in castello, teatro, prigione o strada, creando un gioco di movimento sempre dinamico.

Al centro però le domande esistenziali, la comicità che si alterna all’assurdo, la riflessione filosofica e la ricchezza emotiva.

Di questo spettacolo, del suo debutto al Romano e del suo lavoro di attore e doppiatore, ne abbiamo parlato con Francesco Pannofino.

Cosa ci può dire di questa messinscena?

È un bel progetto. Quando mi ha chiamato Alberto Rizzi e me l’ha proposto, ho subito accettato e insieme a Marco Balsamo, che lo produce, e allo stesso Alberto, abbiamo messo insieme la compagnia e a breve cominceremo le prove

(l’intervista è stata fatta a metà maggio). Non si sa mai prima di cominciare un progetto come andrà, però il testo è bello e la compagnia è forte. La stima che ho per Alberto Rizzi, con cui ho già lavorato in un suo film (Si muore solo da vivi, s’intitolava) e il suo entusiasmo, mi hanno fatto accettare questo progetto. Sarà una messinscena allegra, che usa alcuni espedienti tipici della commedia dell’arte per far ridere, anche se già il fatto di essere a Verona è motivo per essere allegri.

Il testo non è di Shakespeare anche se ne prende ispirazione, come vede il suo debutto al Festival Shakespeariano, un festival con settantasette anni di storia, il secondo più importante dopo quello di Stratford-upon-Avon?

Per me è la prima volta al Festival Shakespeariano e al Teatro Romano, quindi sto scalpitando e non vedo l’ora di cominciare. In compagnia, inoltre, c’è anche mio figlio Andrea che fa Amleto, Francesco Acquaroli che interpreta Guildenstern e Paolo Sassanelli che fa il primo attore della compagnia. Abbiamo una bella responsabilità!

Lei è attore televisivo, cinematografico, teatrale e anche un grande doppiatore: in quale si sente più a suo agio?

Fare diverse cose consente di diversificare, di non annoiarsi. Io sono contento perché faccio il lavoro che avrei voluto fare da bambino, almeno, uno dei lavori che avrei voluto fare, quindi meglio di così... è bello fare un po’ di tutto, sono tutti mezzi di comunicazione importanti. Inoltre consente

di passare da un progetto a un altro, confrontandosi con le varie discipline e tenere sotto controllo il più grande incubo degli attori: la disoccupazione. Certo, ci vuole anche un po’ di fortuna in questo lavoro; e la fortuna non va mai buttata al vento, come diceva il grande Trapattoni. Fortuna intesa come coincidenze e incontri. Poi, come nella vita, bisogna saper eliminare pigrizia e svogliatezza, bisogna impegnarsi, essere al meglio, non avere paura di lavorare e di far fatica, bisogna essere sempre sul pezzo! Il teatro e il cinema sono un lavoro anche fisico, faticoso. Non è solo red carpet, il grosso si fa quando si lavora.

È il doppiatore storico di George Clooney e Denzel Washington tra gli altri, qual è la particolarità di quest'arte? Il lavoro del doppiaggio consiste nel dare le stesse emozioni anche in lingua italiana. Un attore come George Clooney, che doppio da più di vent’anni, ormai lo conosco, l’ho visto recitare in tanti personaggi, so cosa fa e quali sono le corde

per riuscire a doppiarlo senza far vedere che è stato doppiato. Il doppiaggio è un trucco, se il pubblico si accorge che quella non è la sua voce, anche se lo sa, perde il coinvolgimento, il pubblico si deve godere delle emozioni del film e non pensare alla voce. Il doppiaggio è un’abilità, bisogna incollarsi alla faccia, si dice in gergo.

In generale, il mestiere dell’attore è una bellissima storia, tu racconti delle storie e interpreti personaggi lontani da come sei nella vita, continui a giocare. Il teatro, la recitazione, è il gioco che fanno i bambini, i bambini fanno subito teatro.

This column normally offers you a selection of shows on city stages; today, however, since we have already presented all, or almost all, of the reviews in the previous pages, I decided to talk about the opening show of the Veronese Summer Theater, with an interview with its protagonist to

whom we also dedicated the cover, Francesco Pannofino. Indeed, opening the 77th Shakespeare Festival of the Veronese Summer Theater this year will be Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, a text by English playwright Tom Stoppard. The tragicomedy, which falls into the genre of the theater of the absurd, tells the story of two minor characters from Shakespeare's Hamlet, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern precisely, who are summoned to the court of the king of Denmark with the task of helping Hamlet and above all to understand whether he has really gone mad or is pretending.

At the center, however, are existential questions, comedy alternating with the absurd, philosophical reflection and emotional richness.

We spoke with Francesco Pannofino about this production, his debut at Romano, and his work as an actor and voice actor.

What can you tell us about this staging?

It is a beautiful project. When Alberto Rizzi called me and proposed it, I immediately accepted, and together with Marco Balsamo, who is producing it, and Alberto himself, we put together the company and will soon begin rehearsals (the interview was done in mid-May). You never know before starting a project how it will go, however, the text is good and the company is strong. The esteem I have for Alberto Rizzi, with whom I have already worked in his film (Si muore solo da vivi,

it was titled) and his enthusiasm, made me accept this project. It will be a cheerful staging, which uses some typical tricks of the commedia dell'arte to make people laugh, although already the fact of being in Verona is reason to be cheerful.

The text is not Shakespeare's even though it takes inspiration from him, how do you see your debut at the Shakespeare Festival, a festival with seventyseven years of history, the second most important after Stratford-upon-Avon?

This is the first time for me at the Shakespearean Festival and the Roman Theater, so I'm pawing at it and looking forward to it. Also in the company is my son Andrea who plays Hamlet, Francesco Acquaroli who plays Guildenstern, and Paolo Sassanelli who plays the company's first actor. We have quite a responsibility!

You are a television, film, theater actor and also a great voice actor: which one do you feel most comfortable in?

Doing different things allows you to diversify, to not get bored. I'm happy because I'm doing the work I wanted to do as a child, at least, one of the jobs I wanted to do, so better than that ... it's good to do a little bit of everything, they're all important media. It also allows you to move from one project to another, dealing with different disciplines and keeping the actors' biggest nightmare in check: unemployment. Of course, it also takes some luck in this job; and luck should never be thrown to the wind, as the great Trapattoni used to say. Luck in the sense of coincidences and encounters. Then, as in life, you have to be able to eliminate laziness and listlessness, you have to be committed, you have

to be at your best, you have to not be afraid to work and toil, you have to be always on the ball! Theater and film is also physical, strenuous work. It's not just red carpet, the big thing is when you're working.

You are the historical voice actor of George Clooney and Denzel Washington among others, what does your job consist of?

The job of dubbing is to give the same emotions even in the Italian language. An actor like George Clooney, who I've been dubbing for more than 20 years, I know him by now, I've seen him play so many characters, I know what he does and what the strings are to be able to dub him without showing that he's been dubbed. Dubbing is a trick, if the audience realizes that that is not his voice, even if they know it, they lose involvement, the audience should enjoy the emotions of the film and not think about the voice. Dubbing is sleight of hand – the moment audiences detect the artifice, the spell is broken. The general, the craft of acting is a beautiful story, you tell stories and play characters far from how you are in life, you keep playing. Theater, acting, is the play that children do, children immediately do theater.

ORIZZONTI SOSTENIBILI: STRAVAGANTE HOSTEL

Un luogo dove accogliere ed essere accolti.

Stravagante Hostel è un ostello che dal 2018 ha fatto dell’inclusione e dell’accoglienza due capisaldi. Per comprendere meglio il progetto, abbiamo intervistato Mattia Padovani, che da due anni ne è il direttore.

«Stravagante Hostel è un progetto nato dalla cooperativa sociale L’Officina dell’Aias, Associazione italiana assistenza spastici, che dal 2000 si occupa di servizi assistenziali alle persone nelle comunità e nei centri diurni. L’obiettivo è quello di dare servizi migliori a persone con disabilità, grazie all'aiuto di educatori e operatori sociosanitari», esordisce Padovani.

Nel tempo però la cooperativa si è allargata. È Emanuele Germiniasi, fondatore e oggi direttore della cooperativa, a intuire una nuova esigenza:

creare un luogo dove accogliere questi ragazzi e dargli una formazione professionale. L’idea iniziale, spiega Padovani, era quella di avviare una scuola di formazione. Ma il gruppo di lavoro che si è formato ha creato una tale sinergia che presto l’obiettivo si è trasformato: da scuola di formazione è diventato un posto di lavoro.

Stravagante Hostel Prezzi accessibili e posizione strategica, proprio tra la stazione e il centro di Verona, sono i due punti di forza dell’ostello. Per poter garantire un prezzo “sociale” sono state fatte delle scelte, come non avere una reception 24 ore su 24. Ma questa decisione li sta premiando. Alla domanda su cosa

lo distingua dalle strutture tradizionali, Padovani risponde con fermezza: “In niente”. Un ruolo importante è il lavoro degli educatori, che hanno il compito di individuare la mansione più adatta. C’è chi si occupa delle pulizie con grande precisione, e chi gestisce la reception con professionalità. Ma non solo. Oltre all’ostello infatti, è stata aperta anche l’Osteria Mangiabottoni, per fornire anche un servizio di ristorazione, non solo per gli ospiti dell’ostello.

Tra i vantaggi per chi lavora qui, c’è un ambiente più umano e sostenibile rispetto ai ritmi spesso estenuanti della ristorazione tradizionale.

Il cambiamento è visibile: «Tanti ragazzi all’inizio facevano fatica anche solo a guardarti negli occhi – racconta Padovani – oggi gestiscono la cassa e le prenotazioni, relazionandosi con i clienti senza timore».

Osteria Mangiabottoni

L’osteria conta 40 coperti, gestiti da tre gruppi di lavoro: chi si occupa della sala, chi del servizio ai tavoli e chi della cucina. Un’altra scelta importante, ci racconta Padovani, è quella di non enfatizzare e promuovere troppo il fatto che in osteria ci lavorano anche

persone con disabilità. Nulla da nascondere, anzi. Ma la volontà è proprio quella di trattarli esattamente come vengono trattati gli altri: questa è la vera forma di inclusione. Chi va a mangiare al Mangiabottoni lo fa perché ha letto le recensioni sui vari portali - e sono ottime - o perché è incuriosito dal menù. E questo vale sia per i turisti che per i veronesi.

Il vino

La voglia di crescere e sperimentare è però una costante in questo progetto. Così, dallo scorso anno, è partito “Dal filare al vino”: una collaborazione tra L’Officina dell’Aias e l’Azienda Agricola Camerani di Mezzane di Sotto. Un progetto sperimentale che porta i ragazzi con disabilità a impegnarsi nella produzione di vino: dalla vendemmia alle operazioni in cantina. L’obiettivo, ancora una volta, è l’inserimento lavorativo. Il risultato? Il vino Mangiabottoni.

Il futuro

Guardando avanti, Padovani sottolinea l’importanza di mostrare quanto valore possano portare questi ragazzi alla società e all’economia.

Anche in settori in crisi come

la ristorazione e l’ospitalità, possono fare la differenza.

«Il sogno – racconta – è quello di aprire altri ostelli e osterie come questi in tutta Europa. Così, ogni volta che qualcuno vedrà un bottone – simbolo dell’osteria – o una S, quella di Stravagante Hostel, saprà di essere in un luogo sicuro, dove chiunque è il benvenuto. Sarebbe ancora più bello se, un giorno, queste strutture potessero essere gestite interamente da loro».

La strada è ancora lunga, ma la determinazione per percorrerla non manca.

HORIZONS: STRAVAGANTE HOSTEL

A place to welcome and be welcomed.

Stravagante Hostel is a hostel that since 2018 has made inclusion and welcome two cornerstones. To better understand the project, we interviewed Mattia Padovani, who has been its director for two years.

‘Stravagante Hostel is a project

created by the social cooperative L'Officina of Aias, the Italian Association for Spastic Assistance, which has been providing care services to people in communities and day centres since 2000. The aim is to provide better services to people with disabilities, thanks to the help of educators and social and health workers,' Padovani begins.

Over time, however, the cooperative has expanded. It was Emanuele Germiniasi, founder and now director of the cooperative, who realised a new need: to create a place to welcome these young people and give them professional training. The initial idea, explains Padovani, was to start a training school. But the working group that was formed created such a synergy that the objective was soon transformed: from a training school it became a workplace.

Extravagant Hostel

Affordable prices and a strategic location, right between the station and the centre of Verona, are the hostel's two strong points.

In order to guarantee a ‘social’ price, choices were made, such as not having a 24-hour reception. But this decision is rewarding them.

When asked what distinguishes it from traditional structures, Padovani firmly answers: ‘In nothing. An important role is the work of the educators, who have the task of identifying the most suitable role for each person. There are those who do the cleaning with great precision, and those who manage the reception with professionalism. But that's not all.

In addition to the hostel, in fact, the Osteria Mangiabottoni has also been opened to provide a catering service, not only for hostel guests. Among the advantages for those working here is a more humane and sustainable environment compared

to the often exhausting pace of traditional catering. The change is visible: ‘Many guys at the beginning found it hard even to look you in the eye,’ says Padovani, ‘today they manage the cash desk and bookings, relating to customers without fear.

Osteria Mangiabottoni

The osteria has 40 covers, managed by three teams: those in charge of the dining room, those in charge of table service and those in charge of the kitchen. Another important choice, Padovani tells us, is not to emphasise and promote too much the fact that people with disabilities also work in the osteria. Nothing to hide, on the contrary. But the desire is to treat them exactly as others are treated: this is the true form of inclusion. And this applies to tourists and the Veronese alike.

Wine

The desire to grow and experiment is, however, a constant in this project. Thus, last year saw the launch of ‘Dal filare al vino’ (From the row to the wine): in collaboration between L'Officina dell'Aias and the Azienda Agricola Camerani di Mezzane di Sotto. An experimental project that brings

young people with disabilities to engage in wine production: from the grape harvest to operations in the cellar. The objective, once again, is job placement. The result? The Mangiabottoni wine.

The future

Looking ahead, Padovani emphasises the importance of showing how much value these young people can bring to society and the economy.

Even in crisis sectors such as catering and hospitality, they can make a difference.

‘The dream,’ he says, ‘is to open more hostels and inns like these all over Europe. That way, every time someone sees a button - the symbol of the hostel - or an S, that of Stravagante Hostel, they will know they are in a safe place, where anyone is welcome. It would be even nicer if, one day, these facilities could be managed entirely by them'. There is still a long way to go, but the determination to travel it is not lacking.

The Story of Frank and Nina

The Story of the Frank and the Nina - Official Selection Orizzonti Extra at the 81st Venice Film Festival and released in Italian theaters on October 3, 2024 - is screened again at the “Under the Stars of Cinema” festival in Borgo Venezia as it is a film that touches deep inside, telling of adolescence as a daily struggle between loneliness and hope. Tutto il resto è noia

Nel cortometraggio Tutto il resto è noia, il giovane regista Branimir Liguori racconta l’estate sospesa di Lorenzo e Francesco, due amici che affrontano l’apatia dei giorni romani. L’incontro inaspettato con Cloe, ragazza misteriosa e mai vista prima, rompe la routine e accende un momento di scoperta. Il titolo richiama la celebre canzone di Franco Califano, con cui condivide il senso profondo: solo alcuni attimi, alcune persone, riescono a spezzare la monotonia del vivere, rendendo tutto il resto, appunto, “noia”. Roma, calda e immobile, fa da sfondo a questo racconto di crescita e desiderio, sospeso tra malinconia e leggerezza. Due anziani seduti al bar rappresentano metaforicamente una vita spenta, mentre l’esperienza vissuta da Lorenzo e Cloe diventa un frammento autentico, forse effimero, ma carico di significato. Presentato in diversi festival, il corto ha conquistato due premi alla settima edizione del Believe Film Festival: Miglior Contributo Tecnico e Premio delle Scuole. Un piccolo film che, con semplicità e grazia, invita a riscoprire il valore degli incontri inattesi.

Everything else is boredom

In the short film Tutto il resto è noia (Everything Else is Boredom), young director Branimir Liguori recounts the suspended summer of Lorenzo and Francesco, two friends coping with the apathy of Roman days. Their unexpected encounter with Cloe, a mysterious, never-beforeseen girl, breaks the routine and ignites a moment of discovery. The title recalls the famous song by Franco Califano, with which it shares the deep meaning: only a few moments, a few people, manage to break the monotony of living, making everything else, precisely, “boredom.” Rome, warm and still, is the backdrop to this tale of growth and desire, suspended between melancholy and lightness. Two elderly people sitting at the bar metaphorically represent a dull life, while the experience lived by Lorenzo and Cloe becomes an authentic fragment, perhaps ephemeral, but full of meaning. Presented at several festivals, the short film won two awards at the seventh edition of the Believe Film Festival: Best Technical Contribution and Schools' Award. A small film that, with simplicity and grace, invites us to rediscover the value of unexpected encounters.

Facevo dei disegnini per mia figlia che aveva due anni. E mi chiedeva di disegnare per lei una nave, un orso, un sole. E tra queste cose che disegnavo è venuta fuori anche la Pimpa. Between the Lines. The Pleasure of Translating

A well-known translator of the great Anglo-American writers (she is the voice of Jonathan Franzen and Ernest Hemingway), Silvia Pareschi has been a trainer and populariser of the art of translation for many years and, recently, spokesperson for the demands of literary translators in the debate on the use of artificial intelligence in the creative professions.

Oltre a essere la legge delle leggi, il nostro patto sociale, il sostegno della nostra democrazia eccetera eccetera, la Costituzione è un gigantesco esempio di scrittura collettiva. Come hanno fatto? È davvero difficile immaginare come sia stato possibile mettere d’accordo così tante persone per comporre un testo giuridico definito uno dei più belli del mondo”. Articolo dopo articolo, Susanna Mattiangeli ci accompagna alla scoperta delle idee e delle convinzioni dei padri e delle madri costituenti, raccontandoci lo sforzo condiviso di superare i conflitti e trovare, tutti insieme, le parole più chiare e giuste su cui poter fondare l’Italia della ricostruzione dagli orrori della dittatura fascista e della seconda guerra mondiale. Article by article, Susanna Mattiangeli guides us through the ideas and beliefs of the founding mothers and fathers, telling the story of their shared effort to overcome conflict and, together, find the clearest and most just words on which to rebuild Italy after the horrors of fascism and World War II. The result of careful study of parliamentary records and archival documents, the book narrates the Constituent Assembly's debates in a vivid and engaging style, capturing the convergence of diverse viewpoints on fundamental principles and the patient work of refining the language, the words, and the ideas. La mostra, curata da Claudia Cieri Via, celebra il cinquecentenario di Palazzo Te, esplorando il tema della metamorfosi attraverso l'arte rinascimentale e quella contemporanea. Palazzo Te viene vista come opera d'arte totale, mettendo in dialogo gli affreschi di Giulio Romano con opere di maestri come Cor-reggio, Tintoretto, Rubens e contemporanei come Giuseppe Penone. Il per-corso si articola in sezioni tematiche, tra cui "Le favole di Ovidio" e "Le impre-se", arricchite da prestiti internazionali da musei come il Louvre e gli Uffizi.

From Chaos to the Cosmos. Metamorphosis at Palazzo Te

The exhibition, curated by Claudia Cieri Via, celebrates the 500th anniversary of Palazzo Te by exploring the theme of metamorphosis through Renaissance and contemporary art. Palazzo Te is seen as a total work of art, bringing Giulio Romano's frescoes into dialogue with works by masters such as Correggio, Tintoretto, Rubens and contemporaries such as Giuseppe Penone. The per- formance is divided into thematic sections, including ‘The Fables of Ovid’ and ‘The Impres-ses’, enriched by international loans from museums such as the Louvre and the Uffizi.

In occasione del centenario dell'Exposition internationale des arts décoratifs di Parigi, evento che segnò l’affermazione dello “Stile 1925” o Art Déco, la mostra al Palazzo Reale celebra il movimento che ha definito l'estetica del Nove-cento. Curata da Valerio Terraroli, l'esposizione presenta oltre 250 opere, tra cui vetri, porcellane, sculture, tessuti, arredi e abiti haute couture, evidenziando l'influenza dell'Art Déco sul design e sull'industria del lusso.

On the occasion of the centenary of the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, an event that marked the affirmation of the ‘1925 Style’ or Art Deco, the exhibition at the Palazzo Reale celebrates the movement that defined the aesthetics of the 19th century. Curated by Valerio Terraroli, the exhibition presents over 250 works, including glass, porcelain, sculptures, textiles, furniture and haute couture dresses, highlighting the influence of Art Deco on design and the luxury industry.

Fondazione Prada, questa mostra esplora il ruolo fondamentale degli storyboard nel processo cinematografico. Con oltre 1.000 opere di più di 50 artisti, tra cui Scorsese, Fellini e Miyazaki, l'esposizione presenta schizzi, moodboard e sceneggiature, offrendo uno sguardo approfondito sulla progettazione visiva dei film dal 1930 a oggi. A partire dagli anni Trenta, i Fleischer Studios e la Walt Disney Productions, e poi negli anni Quaranta la United Productions of America, commissionavano ad artisti la creazione di sequenze di schizzi e altri elementi visivi durante l’elaborazione della trama e la definizione dei personaggi.

At the Fondazione Prada's Observatory, this exhibition explores the fundamental role of storyboards in the filmmaking process. With over 1,000 works by more than 50 artists, including Scorsese, Fellini and Miyazaki, the exhibition presents sketches, moodboards and scripts, offering an in-depth look at the visual design of films from 1930 to the present day.

Beginning in the 1930s, Fleischer Studios and Walt Disney Productions, and later in the 1940s United Productions of America, commissioned artists to create sketch sequences and other visual elements during plot development and character definition.
