Calming breath practice for well being Breathing through the nostrils has a more profound calming effect than breathing through the mouth. Most of us will breathe predominantly from the chest area and is where the flight or fight (anxious) breath resides. The relaxing breath is in the abdominal area so by activating the abdominal muscles stimulates the calming breath. The Practice of Relaxation Breathing • Switch off external devices • Sit in a chair or on a cushion on the floor, somewhere quiet, calm and peaceful. • Firstly, bring your awareness to each body part, concentrating on each individual area for a few seconds before proceeding to the next; legs, buttocks, back, spine, arms, abdomen, chest, neck, head and face. • Then bring your awareness to the nose and feel the air flowing through the nostrils, breathing in and out from the nose not the mouth. • Feel where the breath is in the body, is it in the chest only, or is it in abdomen and the chest. • Initially just observe the pace, the rate and the depth of the breath and where it is.

• After five to ten rounds of just feeling the breath, see if it is possible to activate the abdominal muscles, which is done by allowing those muscles to relax and expand on the in breath and then allow the passive (relax) release on the out breath.

• If you feel comfortable, without forcing the breath or running out of breath try to lengthen the in breath for a count of 4 and then the out breath for a count of 4. • Continue this practice for 5mins or longer if you feel comfortable. This may feel a little uneasy at first but with perseverance this will subside as the ease begins to develop in the muscles. The abdominal yoga breathing slowly takes over from the tight chest breathing that is under constant tension, leading to a more relaxed efficient intake of oxygen. Abdominal breathing will improve sleep patterns and also help with reducing anxiety, tension and strain which affords great health benefits on many levels. REVIEW

Fabulous outdoor dining at Brecon’s Riviera Put a date in your diary to try breakfast, lunch, a tasty supper, or just a drink or ice-cream in the sun at Cat Soup Kitchen. A new community and family focused café with a small but perfectly formed menu with weekly and lunch specials. Located on Brecon Promenade with informal seating overlooking the rivers Usk and Honddu. CSK is rapidly becoming known as the place to be to enjoy Brecon’s Riviera! Dining here is as much about the relaxing outdoor experience as the food.

After extensive worldwide travel and catering experience. Charlie and David have brought the best of fusion cuisine to Brecon. Catering for all, including, but not limited to, sumptuous Vietnamese broth (VG), Japanese Chicken Katsu, Seitan kebabs (VG) and very generous Homemade Burgers. The menu caters for meat lovers, veggies, vegan, gluten free and is allergy friendly. The emphasis is on freshly cooked, seasonal and local produce but with an exciting twist. I was lucky enough to visit twice over a few days and enjoyed breakfast in the sun, listening to the burble of the river and gentle falls whilst watching mummy duck guide her brood of ducklings up and across the river. At lunch, on my 2nd visit, my friend and I were slightly greedy and shared 3 main dishes to try a selection of this week’s menu choices Nikujaga Japanese Beef Stew , Katsu Chicken and a CSK Mix Box. Whilst we were sat outside on a slightly cloudy day, the venture to CSK was above and beyond expectations. The opportunity to dine outside was perfect and the chunky welsh beef melted in the mouth. It was served with basmati rice, salad, and pickled ginger. The portions for all 3 dishes were generous and you can have the mouth-watering Katsu Chicken served your way, either with fries (curly, skinny or chunky) or rice. The CSK Mix Box, one of the Vegan specials,

was so fresh with a rainbow of colours, texture and can be served with or without the added kick from the roquito pepper sauce. Special fun menus for children are also available for only £4.50 and children of all ages can make an origami cat mask or doodle away the hours with a spot of colouring too. I can’t promise you sunshine every time but I can promise you a scrumptious dining experience and superb laid back atmosphere. If time is limited then you can pre-order. But I would recommend taking a moment for yourself and your family, to enjoy where we live. Look across to Pen-Y-Fan and sip on a cold beer, CSK traditional cider at £3.50 or a cheeky cocktail £12 for 2. Soft drinks aren’t forgotten and are seen as just as important. Coffee is from Spain, tea is served looseleaf and all are great value at £2 and under. Where possible everything in the cafe is plastic free. It was the first time I’d enjoyed a sparkling water from a recyclable and resealable can. I must admit that I didn’t have room to try any of the sweet homemade treats but these included Brownies(VG), Lemon Drizzle, Flapjacks and Chocolate Cake both GF. Would I come back I hear you ask? Definitely, with my family, friends and even with fussy eaters. I believe that there is something here for everyone, and at a price we can all afford. But don’t just take my word for it, check out the favourable reviews and their FB page @thecatsoupkitchen’ For more details on specials, to pre-order or to collect quality homemade takeaways call Charlie or David on 07967343619. BUSINESS PROFILE

Brecon Chocolates When was the business started? 28th July 2018, so we are celebrating 1 year of trading! What made you set up the business? 17 years ago, I opened Hay Chocolates in Hay-on-Wye. I designed my own book related chocolate moulds, and had a third party make the chocolates for me. I also had a 3 star Bed and Breakfast and a growing catering company. So I took my tenant’s option to break at 3 years, shut the shop and concentrated on Charlotte Roskill Catering Limited. After a total of 30 years in catering weddings and events, I finally got married myself, and decided it was time for a change. So I retrained as a chocolatier, opened Brecon Chocolates 28th July 2018, and now make a large proportion of the chocolates we sell in the shop, in a production unit above the shop. Where are you based? Formally known as Matthews the Jewellers, The Old Workshop, Lion Street, Brecon, Powys LD3 7HY. Do you have ambitions to move or grow bigger? As the business was born in Hay originally, I would love to have a shop in Hay-on-Wye, and Crickhowell. maybe one day... Do you need to do any annual training to keep your qualifications up to date? Food Hygiene every 3 years. Who is your ideal customer? A chocoholic! Or anyone looking for locally handmade gifts for any occasion. What is your greatest achievement in your business? As a novice chocolatier, tempering chocolate in 30 degrees heat, in the hottest summer on record for 30 years, to get the shop open for 28th July 2018. 9 months on, launching ‘The Welsh Drinks Cabinet’ showcasing 6 Welsh liqueurs, using coloured cocoa butter to co-ordinate the company colours. Have you won any awards in your business? Not yet! What has been the biggest help to building up your business? 30 years in the catering trade has been invaluable in the hugely technical chocolate making process and running the shop. Not to mention the 3, in house, one to one training days I have had with ‘Andrew Thwaite Chocolatier’, which have been absolutely invaluable to the progress of me making chocolate. I

can’t recommend Andrew highly enough. His expertise has definitely been worth the investment. What’s the funniest thing that’s happened to you whilst doing your job? Walking out of Production, onto shop floor, with chocolate and red cocoa butter on my face! Wearing my blue hair net, grey chefs jacket and blue plastic apron... it’s quite a head turner, but adds to the authenticity of where the chocolates are produced, which customers really like! What do you know now that you wish you knew before starting your business? Chocolate is a very temperamental product that behaves differently depending on the weather, heat and humidity, so every day presents production with different challenges. Sum your business up in five words: Evolving, friendly, creative, delicious and successful. List some goals on your business to-do list: Get the web site up and running, and get Christmas flavours organised (for real!). Is there anything else you’d like people to know? The business is evolving all the time. Flavours change on a regular basis. We hope our website will be live soon.

Protecting wildlife for the future

Wild in July

All share a distinctive “ruff ” of leaves from four in a cross (as in Crosswort) to many around the stem in the Cleavers or Goosegrass that clings to your clothing at the least brush of an arm. Hardly a surprise then that they were grouped into a family of their own – the Rubiaceae. The arrangement of leaves around the stem is called a “whorl” by botanists and the example shown here displays a whorl of eight or more leaves below the flowering stems. This is Hedge Bedstraw which can make a splendid display in hedges as this plant was in Cwm Senni. It isn’t the commonest of species in our area though, making it even more special to come across.

Galium album Hedge Bedstraw, Briwydd y clawdd The Bedstraws are distinctive and widely varying at the same time, from the Woodruff that delights us in springtime woodland to Lady’s Bedstraw lighting up limestone areas and Crosswort adorning many of our Brecknock lanes in high summer.

The family has specialised species for most habitats, such as marshy areas and limestone rocks so we encounter a Bedstraw most times we are out recording plant communities. Brecknock at The Wildlife Trust of South & West Wales: www.bit.ly/breconwild John Crellin

King of the Zulus comes to Brecon It’s not every day that a real life Zulu king comes to Brecon, but over the last few years a close personal relationship has grown between Wales and the Zulu nation in Kwazulu Natal, resulting in a visit this July of Zulu King, Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu. Two years ago, Brecon saw the visit of Queen Mantfombi with an impressive 100-strong Zulu entourage. 2019 is the 140th anniversary of the Anglo-Zulu wars, known for the Battle of Isandlwana and famously for Rorke’s Drift, and to coincide with the anniversary a series of events are planned. Not usually open to the public, The Army Barracks on The Watton plays host to a cultural and historical pageant to welcome King Goodwill on Sunday 21st July from 1pm. Winners of the King Goodwill Youth Art Competition will be presented to the king. The event is free and will feature performances by local choirs and bands and will climax with Beating The Retreat. On Monday 22nd July, Brecon Cathedral stages a Welsh Concert with Brecon Male Voice Choir, harpist Emily Harris and soloists Emily Pugh and Ben Anthony. The evening starts at 7.30pm and is compered by Sir Tim Ackroyd. Tuesday and Wednesday, July 23rd and 24th, see performances at Theatr Brycheiniog, Brecon of Jerry

Pooe’s Cetshwayo. The musical is based on the life of King Cetshwayo, and tells the story of the AngloZulu wars, his subsequent capture and his visit to London and meeting with Queen Victoria. To commemorate this historical Brecon visit, a map has been designed by a local artist to show the sites King Cetshwayo visited in 1882. In addition, a children’s book written by Janet Holcroft, about the life of King Cetshwayo is released and includes artwork by pupils from Llanfaes School, Mount Street School, Cradoc School and Christ College. The King Goodwill visit to Brecon has been organised by Dorcas Cresswell and the Friends of the Royal Welsh Regimental Museum and has been supported by the Armed Forces Covenant and the Heritage Lottery Fund. The King Goodwill Pageant at Brecon Barracks has the support of Colonel (retired) Mike Snook and the Army and is a free admission event. Tickets for the Welsh Concert at Brecon Cathedral and the Cetshwayo Musical at Theatr Brycheiniog are available from the theatre box office on 01874 611622. A great experience Wye Valley Falconry is the brainchild of Luke Mammatt, a falconer from Hereford who has worked at a number of centres around the UK over a 14 year career. Luke has now returned, and brought his passion back to Herefordshire by establishing his own business.Yet he has no visitor centre or even premises; rather, he offers private experiences and events, where clients get to meet and fly various birds of prey such as hawks, falcons and owls. A private one-to-one experience will help you understand why birds of prey are some of the most fascinating predators in the world; a flying display will show you their amazing aerial agility and natural hunting techniques; an educational visit to a club or organisation (covering any age-group - nurseries to residential homes) will teach you about their evolutionary features, characteristics and behaviours; or why not take photographs in full flight? Photographic experiences can challenge the best to capture a falcon as it sweeps by at nearly 100mph! Luke also offers wedding services – your wedding rings can be delivered down the aisle by a barn owl which adds something magical to your special day.Whatever you choose, you’ll be sure to have a great experience with Wye Valley Falconry.

Q&A with: Matthews Fruit Where are you based? We are located at Aberbran, which is on the A40 going towards Sennybridge about 3 miles from Brecon.

What fruit and vegetable do you grow? The fruit we grow includes strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries, black and red currants, broad beans and peas. We also sell, but do not grow, potatoes along with free-range eggs, home-made jam and local honey. Is all produce ready to pick in July? The first fruits that will be available to pick (around the end of June) are strawberries and gooseberries. These will be closely followed by blackcurrants, redcurrants and raspberries. The broad beans and peas are ready for picking around the middle of July. Obviously this is all dependent on the weather as hot, sunny weather will bring the fruit on quicker and overcast, dull weather will prolong the ripening time!

If someone was to visit, could they spend the morning or afternoon with you? They are welcome to stay as long as they wish and can also buy hot and cold drinks along with cakes and cream teas. There is plenty of seating and they can also bring a picnic if they so wish. Is there anything else you’d like to let our readers know? There is no entry fee – just turn up and start picking!

Local Talent Wolfie Hughes

Type of talent: Traditional archer, horseman and action performer for Film and TV. What got you into archery? My father bought me a bow when I was eleven years old as a birthday present. How long have you been riding? I first started riding in my late teens. My mother is passionate about horses and as my father was learning to ride, it became a family interest. What made you decide to get on a horse and shoot a bow? Mounted archery was a normal occurrence in past times. This was usually to facilitate hunting, combat or a show of skill and prowess. It seemed a natural progression for me to combine my two passions and test my skill further. How did you get into the film and TV industry? Through my success and titles as Welsh and British traditional archery champion, I was suggested for the role of an archer on the BBC drama Atlantis. Once I worked on Atlantis, I realised I really enjoyed combining my archery skills with acting on screen. I then went on to train in on screen combat and weapon skills. Is TV and Film as glamorous as people think it is? I recently spent 8 months working on Game of Thrones series 8, as a Dothraki. This was working with a horse riding stunt team. As fantastic as this was - with the weapons work and battle scenes all being on horseback, its physically demanding work. In addition you have to work very long days and nights, sometimes up to 12 hours in the saddle. Combine this with chilling winter temperatures and rain, typical of the northeast coast of Ireland and it isn’t always that comfortable. However, I always remember how lucky I am, being able to be involved with huge projects such as this. So it’s definitely a case of finding a balance! You coach archery to the stars on set. Who have you most recently coached? I have recently coached Jenna Coleman and Kate Fleetwood for the

ITV Drama, Victoria. Just prior to that, I worked with Jeremy Irons on a HBO TV series called the Watchman, which is due for release soon. I also coached Ollie Rix in The Spanish Princess. What might we have recently seen you in, on TV? I was on Casualty in June, as Wolfie – a medieval reenactor with a dislocated shoulder. I also appeared in The Spanish Princess, shooting longbows alongside the main character Edward Stafford. What’s been your most proudest moment using your skills? Earlier this year, I was cast as lead character, directed by Ridley Scott Associates for a virtual Viking experience called the Viking Planet. This opened in Oslo in June. I was lucky enough to then travel to Norway and film in a stunning coast location. I got to co-ordinate Viking battle scenes and gallop on an Icelandic horse, one of my lifelong ambitions. Tell us about your archery coaching business and current plans: I coach archery just outside Brecon, having done so for 6 years. I would love to focus on coaching more people in archery skills. I offer one to one coaching, as well as experiences for groups of individuals – such things as birthday parties or corporate groups. If you want to have a go at archery on a horse, we can do that too! Have a look at www.herohorsearchery.net for more information. What do you want people to know about archery? It’s something everyone has the potential to do. It’s therapeutic and fun. It calms the mind and is wonderfully addictive. Have a go!

New in Town: Found Gallery Where are you based? Found Gallery is situated at the end of The Bulwark in Brecon – a prime position as people enter the town from the east, and opposite Y Gaer – the renovated museum, library and community hub that is also due to open this Summer. Why the Brecon area? Punch Maughan has known Brecon all her life, having holidayed in the area every year as a child, having worked here when she first left school, and then having lived locally with her husband for the last 30 years bringing up their three children – who have now all flown the nest! Why did you decide to open the Found Gallery? Having moved into Brecon itself a couple of years ago, after selling their 20 bed bunkhouse, the Maughans were looking for a new project. For seven years they hosted Art @ No 10 on The Struet in the house they now live in, and latterly Punch has been the Visual Arts Coordinator at Theatr Brycheiniog, managing The Andrew Lamont Gallery. 1,The Bulwark offered the opportunity for James to own the offices he needed for his business, GroupAccommodation.com, whilst enhancing the town’s high street with a gallery dedicated to raising the profile of the town whilst supporting the artistic community of Wales and beyond.

How is this different than the others you have launched? We have never owned a retail business before, but we are always keen to embrace new challenges. What type of education or experience helped you to open/run/manage this business? We have been business owners for the majority of our working lives. We have supported artists and makers in Wales for over 10 years ever since our first Art @ No 10 exhibition. Describe a typical day in your business: A typical week will involve welcoming people into Found to enjoy the work of the artists and makers of whatever is the current exhibition. Certain days will be spent out and about meeting different creatives and visiting potential future exhibitors. Every six weeks or so we will be taking down one exhibition and then setting up the next one. Monday will be our day off! Any advice to new businesses in this area? Believe in your local high street. Found Gallery - opening it’s doors at 10am on Friday 5th July.

What are some of challenges you encountered? Every building project has its challenges, but we thrive on challenges. What do you wish you had known before you started? Some of the answers to all the decisions we have had to make! Is this the first business you have launched? We have always been self employed – James in magazine publishing and then with his successful holiday accommodation website for groups. Punch has worked in catering, is a qualified Montessori teacher – previously owning and running a nursery school in London and, briefly, one close to Brecon when her eldest children were young. Together Punch and James ran a 20 bed bunkhouse north of Sennybridge for 15 years and Stay At No 10 in Brecon for 7 years. Punch set up and then was the Executive Director of Brecon Beacons Tourism for 8 years.

Tax peril of mixand-match ISAs: Savers can easily fall foul of the rules putting money in dribs and drabs

INDEPENDENT FINANCIAL ADVICE

“Your local source of unbiased advice explained in Plain English”

Savers looking to put money into a cash ISA in dribs and drabs, or mix and match different accounts, can easily fall foul of the rules. They run the risk of forfeiting a chunk of their ISA allowance unless they pick the right bank or building society. It’s all down to the way each organisation has set up its ISAs. Some let you mix fixed rate and easy-access accounts, and add to them whenever you want during the year. All are wrapped up together to count as just one cash ISA.

F SAVINGS & INVESTMENTS F RETIREMENT PLANNING F MORTGAGES F INHERITANCE TAX MITIGATION F FAMILY PROTECTION Contact: t: 01874 611911 e: enquiries@beaconifa.co.uk w: beaconifa.co.uk Directly authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority

But with most providers, opening an easy-access account will count as one ISA, while your fixed rate will count as another. Opening more than one ISA in the current tax year breaks the overall ISA rules laid down by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). These say you can put up to £20,000 into a cash ISA this tax year — which runs from April 6, 2019, to April 5, 2020 — where your interest is automatically tax free. But you can only open and hold one cash ISA in the current tax year. You can run into problems if you open a fixed rate cash ISA now with part of your allowance, with a plan to add to it later in the year when more money comes in from, say, an inheritance or tax-free sum from a pension. The cash ISA rules are easy to fall foul of. For anyone who is unsure of the rules it would be best to double check with their ISA provider or an Independent Financial Adviser before making any further ISA contributions this tax-year. – Tom Russell – Director of Beacon IFA Ltd

Adelina Patti [1843-1919]

This world famous opera singer, with an amazing soprano voice, was born in Spain to Italian parents. The highest paid singer of her era, she performed all over the world.

• Extensions

Her leisure time was spent in a small mansion house in Breconshire, which she bought in 1878, enlarged and castellated. She named it ‘Craig-y-Nos’ Castle. Here she entertained her guests in her purpose built theatre and recovered her voice following extensive touring. She loved the peace and the people of the valley. They loved her in return and she was treated as royalty.

Her generosity was extensive; she sent baskets of exotic fruit, grown at Craig-y-nos, to invalids in the area. She also gave charity concerts even after she had largely retired. She married three times, and the religious ceremony for her third marriage to Baron Rolf Cederstrom was performed at St Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Brecon in 1899. The Borough of Brecon declared a holiday on the day and the streets were decorated and lined with people, as she and her guests were taken from Free Street Station to the Church. Newss from

Kirsty Williams

Recently I’ve been trying to do my bit to raise awareness of the importance of claiming pension credit. This is a particularly important issue in our part of the world. 26.6% of people in Brecon and Radnorshire are 65 and over (it’s 19.9% across all of Wales). As well as providing income support, pension credit acts as a ‘passport’ to other benefits. It will take on added significance from June 2020, following the announcement that the TV licence for people over 75 will only be available to those receiving pension credit. However, around 40% of people aren’t claiming pension credit when they could. This is around 1.3million across Great Britain and would likely mean well over 1000 in Brecon and Radnorshire. I believe the Westminster Government should take steps to address the low uptake rates, but I also think there are things that can be done at a community level. If you’re not claiming pension credit when you could, or you know friends or family members who this may apply to, then please consider if there’s anything you can do to help ensure everyone’s getting the support they need. July is the month of the Royal Welsh Show, and I want to quickly mention the link between agriculture and the environment. Last month I attended NFU Cymru’s inaugural ‘sustainable agriculture’ conference, and used my speech to highlight the need for a full recognition of the benefits agriculture brings to the environment. We are often quick to talk about our beautiful countryside – we should be equally quick to recognise who helps keep it that way. Environmental issues have attracted much-welcome attention in recent months and the relationship between agriculture and the environment isn’t always a simple one, but it has been encouraging to see farming representatives take a lead. As ever, if there is anything you’d like to discuss with me please get in touch at kirsty.williams@assembly. wales or on 01874 625739.

Yn ogystal â darparu cymorth incwm, mae credyd pensiwn yn gweithredu fel ‘pasbort’ i fudd-daliadau eraill. Bydd arwyddocâd ychwanegol i hynny o fis Mehefin 2020, yn dilyn y cyhoeddiad y bydd y drwydded deledu ond ar gael ar gyfer pobl dros 75 oed sy’n derbyn credyd pensiwn. Fodd bynnag, nid yw tua 40% o bobl yn hawlio credyd pensiwn pan allen nhw wneud hynny. Mae hynny’n tua 1.3 miliwn o bobl ledled Prydain a byddai hynny’n golygu y gallai ymhell dros 1000 o bobl ym Mrycheiniog a Maesyfed fod yn gymwys. Credaf y dylai Llywodraeth San Steffan gymryd camau i fynd i’r afael â’r cyfraddau derbyn isel, ond credaf hefyd fod pethau y gellir eu gwneud ar lefel gymunedol. Os nad ydych yn hawlio credyd pensiwn pan allech chi, neu os ydych chi’n adnabod ffrindiau neu aelodau o’r teulu y gallai hyn fod yn berthnasol iddynt, ystyriwch a oes unrhyw beth y gallwch ei wneud i helpu i sicrhau bod pawb yn cael y cymorth sydd ei angen arnynt. Gorffennaf yw mis y Sioe Fawr, ac rwyf am sôn yn gyflym am y cysylltiad rhwng amaethyddiaeth a’r amgylchedd. Fis diwethaf, fe wnes i fynychu cynhadledd gyntaf ‘amaethyddiaeth gynaliadwy’ NFU Cymru, a defnyddiais fy araith i amlygu’r angen am gydnabyddiaeth lawn o’r manteision y mae amaethyddiaeth yn eu cynnig i’r amgylchedd. Rydym yn aml yn barod i siarad am ein cefn gwlad prydferth - dylem fod yr un mor barod i gydnabod pwy sy’n helpu i’w gadw felly. Mae materion amgylcheddol wedi denu llawer o sylw yn ystod y misoedd diwethaf ac nid yw’r berthynas rhwng amaethyddiaeth a’r amgylchedd bob amser yn un syml, ond mae wedi bod yn galonogol gweld cynrychiolwyr ffermio ar flaen y gad. Fel arfer, os oes unrhyw beth yr hoffech ei drafod gyda mi, cysylltwch â ni kirsty.williams@cynulliad. cymru neu ar 01874 625739. DOG WALKING - We walk your dog from home when you are unable to.

DOG HOME BOARDING – We board your dog in our home.

Welsh Liberal Democrat County Councillor for Talgarth

CAT FEEDING – Your cat stays at your home where it has its home comforts.

It was my privilege recently to attend the PAVO Powys Volunteer of the Year Awards at the Pavilion in Llandrindod Wells, during National Volunteering Week. I was delighted to host the winners of the Group Award category, the South Powys Veterans, who were praised for their dedication in delivering the Woodland Walk in the grounds of Bronllys Hospital, as well as the At Ease Veterans’ Garden. It could not have been more appropriate for them to win this accolade on 6th June, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of the DD Landings. We remain indebted to all those who made the ultimate sacrifice in war for subsequent generations, as well as those survivors, who carry with them the scars of conflict every single day.

Last year’s PAVO Group Award Winner, the Hay, Brecon, Talgarth Sanctuary for Refugees (HBTS4R) Group continues to do invaluable work locally and in just a couple of weeks’ time, they will be returning to Talgarth for a favourite fixture in the summer calendar. In what will be a freestanding event this year, the Mid Wales (South) League Champions, Talgarth Town FC, will be hosting a tournament at King George V playing field, on Saturday 13th July with refugees based in Swansea and Newport. Details are still being finalised at the time of going to press, but HBTS4R, with support from Talgarth and District Regeneration Group, are looking forward to greeting our visitors again this year, in a spirit of friendship and good sport. We can expect our area to be in the media spotlight in the coming month or so, with the advent of the Royal Welsh Show and other events. I’m sure that we will play our part in welcoming tourists and other visitors from near and far. As well as showing our community in a positive light, it also provides a genuine boost to our local economy, which is to be warmly welcomed. In the meantime, if you have any feedback, please do not hesitate to contact me by email: President@welshlibdems.org.uk on Facebook @WilliamPowellLD or Twitter @WmPowell2016 Best wishes,William.
