SYLWADAU DIWEDD Y TYMOR END OF SEASON THOUGHTS....
Mae'n teimlo fel dim ond ychydig o wythnosau yn ôl ein bod ni i gyd yn edrych ymlaen at y tymor newydd. Ac eto, dyma ni, yn wythnos olaf yr ymgyrch ac yn edrych ymlaen at gêm gartref olaf y tymor heddiw!
Byddai’n danddatganiad i ddweud ei bod wedi bod yn flwyddyn heriol i ni wrth i ni, ar ôl dechrau rhagorol, yn taro rhediad gwael a barodd fisoedd ac, am y tro cyntaf ers dychwelyd i Uwch Gynghrair Cymru, rydym yn gweld ein hunain mewn hanner gwaelod y tabl a cheisio osgoi diraddio!
Fodd bynnag, un peth rydw i'n gwybod yw y bydd Richard a’i dîm rheoli wedi paratoi’r chwaraewyr yn dda ar gyfer y rhediad pwysig hwn wrth i ni frwydro i aros yn yr haen uchaf.
Fel cadeirydd rwyf am cymeryd y cyfle yma i ddiolch i bawb sydd wedi ein helpu y tymor hwn. Mae hyn yn cynnwys y staff a’r chwaraewyr ar bob lefel, ein noddwyr, gwirfoddolwyr gan gynnwys Angharad yn y ffreutur ac Alyson gyda’r raffl, Jamie, ein tirmon anhygoel Wyn, ein hysgrifennydd gwych Geraint a’n Llywydd bendigedig John. Ac, wrth gwrs, diolch enfawr i'n cefnogwyr arbennig sy'n talu eu harian wrth y giât bob wythnos i gefnogi'r tîm. Heb yr ymdrech hon ni fyddem yn gallu cystadlu ar y lefel hon o’r gêm ac rwy’n eich cyfarch i gyd ar ran pawb yn y clwb.
Diolch yn fawr iawn hefyd i holl aelodau'r bwrdd sy'n rhoi o'u hamser yn rhydd a chydag ymroddiad enfawr! Mae’r gwaith maen nhw’n ei wneud ar ran y clwb yn hollbwysig a dwi’n gwybod yn well na’r mwyafrif beth maen nhw’n ei roi i’r clwb arbennig yma.
Ac yn olaf, gwn y byddwch yn ymuno â mi i anfon ein meddyliau a’n dymuniadau gorau i Martin Roberts a’i deulu wrth iddo wella o’r anaf difrifol a gafodd yn y gêm yn y Fflint yr wythnos diwethaf.
It seems just a few weeks ago that we were all looking forward to the new season. And yet, here we are, in the last week of the campaign and looking forward to today’s final home match of the season!
It would be an understatement to say that it’s been a challenging year for us as, after an excellent start we hit a poor run of form that lasted months and, for the first time since our return to the Cymru Premier League, we find ourselves in the bottom half of the table and trying to avoid relegation!
However, one thing I now is that Richard and his management team will have prepared the players well for this important run-in as we fight to stay in the top tier.
As chairman I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped us this season. This includes the staff and players at all levels, our sponsors, volunteers including Angharad at the canteen and Alyson with the raffle, Jamie, our amazing groundsman Wyn, our excellent secretary Geraint and wonderful President John. And, of course a special thanks to our special supporters who pay their hard earned money at the gate every week to support the team. Without this effort we would not be able to compete at this level of the game and I salute you all on behalf of everyone at the club.
Also, a huge thank you to all the board members who give their timefreely and with great dedication! The work they carry out on behalf of the club is vital and I know better than most what they give to this special club of ours.
And finally, I know you will join me in sending our thoughts and best wishes to Martin Roberts and his family as he recuperates from the serious injury he sustained at last week’s match at Flint.

CAERNARFON 4 0 AIRBUS UK BROUGHTON 31.3.2023
Caernarfon Town supporters will have approached Friday evening’s match with both expectancy and trepidation. The visitors to the Oval were Airbus UK, a team that has languished at the foot of the Cymru Premier League table throughout the season, and so most teams would have come to expect victory over them in recent months. However, Caernarfon have hardly been in stellar form in recent weeks and so, whilst hopes were high that manager Richard Davies can help turns things around, there may still have been a fear that a lack of confidence evidenced lately may continue to impact the players.
Thankfully, an opening goal after just seventeen seconds for the Cofis seemed to set the tone for the match and it became a rare comfortable evening at the Oval for the Cofi Army. When a Ben Wynne punt upfield was hunted down by Marsh-Hughes, it seemed a lost cause for the striker, but goalkeeper Dutton kicked the ball against him and the ball flew into an empty net, much to the delight of the nervy crowd.
The striker was put through three minutes later by Sion Bradley but this time, Dutton did well to rush out and pull off an excellent double save.
The visitors were dealt a huge blow on seventeen minutes when their captain, former Town leader Gareth Edwards, was shown the red card for a foul on Bradley as he sped into the penalty area. It was a sad last visit to the Oval as a player for the popular veteran, who received applause from both sets of supporters as he exited the action. Bradley failed to score from the resulting penalty as Dutton dived to his right to keep the ball out of his net.
The hosts’ second goal arrived on the thirty minute mark after good work on the right flank by Noah Edwards, who beat his man on the outside before squaring the ball to the onrushing Marsh-Hughes, who slipped the ball past Dutton from six yards.
The visitors, despite the setbacks, continued to work hard and it is to their credit that they fought for every ball and played well in patches, although they never seemed like getting back into the match.
they never seemed like getting back into the match.
A late flurry of opportunities as the first half approached its final moments saw both Marsh-Hughes and Joe Faux go close to adding a third, but the visitors held on to the break.
The Cofis added the inevitable third goal just a minute after the restart, referee Rob Jenkins awarding a penalty for a trip on Sion Bradley in the box, and this time it was Danny Gosset who took over spot kick duties. Dutton pulled off a second penalty save of the match, but Gosset was first to the rebound and struck in from eight yards.
Most of the remainder of the action took place in the Airbus half as Caernarfon enjoyed the lions’ share of possession, and Noah Edwards and Aaron Simpson going close to scoring before Marsh Hughes secured his hattrick, this time getting on the end of a Sion Bradley cross before finishing from close range.
Dutton saved Airbus from further embarrassment with a string of decent saves, and the Cofi Army had to settle for four goals and three points as their team tries to navigate its way out of the relegation battle it finds itself in.
