Whilst we are all looking forward to today’s encounter, one person who will be missing from The Oval this afternoon is Paul, our Chairman. Paul has finally had his long-awaited surgery, and on behalf of everyone connected to Tref Caernarfon I would like to wish him a very speedy recovery. Gwellhâd buan Paul ac edrychwn yn ymlaen yn fawr iawn i’ch gweld yn ôl ar Yr Oval yn fuan. De ni gyd yn meddwl amdanoch ac yn anfon ein cofion gorau atoch. Byddwn yn gwneud ein gorau glas i’ch plesio pnawn ‘ma! Diolch am eich cefnogaeth.

Huw #UnClwb

C’mon y Dre!

It seems a long time since our last competitive game but in the meantime training has gone really well and we’re all looking forward to today’s match - there is definite confidence in the camp and the new signings are settling in well. The table looks very pleasing at the moment with Caernarfon Town in 3rd position but Tony Pennock’s team, although in 8th position, are only 2 points behind us with 7 points, having won 2 games, lost 1 and having a very commendable draw against Bala Town at Maes Tegid. Today’s game therefore will I’m sure be another close encounter and we will need to concentrate fully until the last whistle if we hope to gain any points.

Today we face Haverfordwest County for the second time this season, our last encounter being the first game of the season when we made the long journey down to the Bridge Meadow Stadium. Unfortunately a goal in the 80th minute from Jordan Davies gave our opponents the three points. We will certainly be aiming to make amends for that defeat today!

The support Town had in the Airbus game was superb the atmosphere in The Oval with the cheering and singing from the Cofi Army was second to none and gave the lads a huge lift; please can we have more of the same today?!!

8. Beth yw'r uchafbwynt dy amser yn y clwb?

2. Rownd gynderfynol y play off yn erbyn Barry yn 2021, roedd yr hogia yn anhygoel.

3. Rownd derfynol y play off flwyddyn ddwytha’ yn erbyn Y Fflint. Dw i’n teimlo’n freintiedig iawn i fod yn rhan o’r tîm cyntaf erioed i ennill tlws yn yr Uwch OndGynghrair.dwiwir yn meddwl bod y gwir uchafbwynt i ddod yn fuan eto, yn enwedig gyda’r talent sy’n y ‘stafell newid a’r awydd a’r awch i lwyddo sy’ gan bawb, ac wrth gwrs efo’r cefnogwyr anhygoel tu ôl i ni.

KEV SHERET

Duw ei hun, Eric Cantona.

Mae Tyler hefyd yn rhan enfawr o’r tîm ac mae ganddo fo sgiliau gwahanol o’i gymharu â Tibbs.

Dw i bellach hefyd yn gyfrifol am anfon clipiau unigol allan i’r hogia', dadansoddi a rhannu clipiau ar ein gwrthwynebwyr, yn gyfrifol am y set pieces ac yn ddiweddar yn gweinyddu’r data o’r system GPS. Dw i’n ddiolchgar iawn i Huw am y cyfleoedd yma dw i wedi’u cael.

Pam nes ti ddewis chwarae yn gôl?

Nes i ddechra’ chwarae i dimau ieuenctid yn ardal Dyffryn Nantlle cyn chwarae i dimau Gwynedd a Gogledd Cymru ac yna Clwb Dinas Gaer. Ar ôl gadael Caer, fe es i ymlaen i chwarae i Gaernarfon, Talysarn Celts a Nantlle Vale. Yna yn 2005, sefydlodd fy ffrind a minna’ glwb newydd yn Llanllyfni ac mi o’n i’n chwarae a rheoli ar y cyd. Mi oedd yn gyfnod cyffrous a llwyddiannus i ni fel tîm bach o’r wlad a’r atgofion yn rhai melys iawn.

Tri sy’n dod i’r brig.

Be ydi rôl chdi yn y clwb a gwnei di ddisgrifio be ti'n wneud?

Pwy ydi dy arwr pêl droed?

Mae Tyler yn arbennig o dda efo’i draed sydd yn nodwedd bwysig iawn yn y gêm fodern. Ond mae’n rhaid i’r ddau edrych dros eu hysgwyddau yn fy marn i; mae ‘na GKs arbennig o dda yn dod i fyny drwy’r academi. Mae Tom Pritchard sydd efo’r tîm dan 19 yn dalent ac yn hyfforddi yn gyson efo’r tîm cyntaf ac roedd ar y fainc yn erbyn Met Caerdydd.

Be wyt ti'n feddwl o'r golwyr sydd yn y clwb?

Be ydi dy gefndir pêl droed?

1. Fy ngêm gyntaf pan wnaethon ni guro TNS adref o 1-0 yn 2019. Mi fydd y floedd gan y Cofi Army pan aeth y chwiban olaf yn aros yn y co’ am amsar hir iawn.

Nes i benderfynu rhoi’r gora’ i chwara’ yn 33 y penglinia’ a’r cefn yn doji!

Oes rhaid gofyn?! Manchester United.

Cyfweliad gyda……….

Dw i ddim yn meddwl nes i erioed ddewis chwarae yn y gôl! Ar y left wing o’n i’n chwarae i dimau iau Llanllyfni, ond doedd na’m goli rhyw dro ac yno fues i wedyn.

Mi o’n i wedi bod yn hyfforddi efo clybiau erill ar ôl i mi ymddeol o chwara’. Roedd dipyn o’n ffrindia’ i’n hyfforddi efo’r academi felly mi o’n i’n meddwl ei fod o’n gyfla da i roi rhywbeth yn ôl i chwaraewyr ifanc yr ardal. Wedi hynny, mi wnaeth Eards a Fish ofyn i mi ymuno efo tîm rheoli'r tîm cyntaf a dw i’n mwynhau pob eiliad ers hynny.

Sut nes di ddod i weithio i CPD Tref Caernarfon?

Pwy ydi dy hoff dîm proffesiynol?

Mae ‘na dalent yma yn sicr. Mi o’n i’n falch iawn o weld Josh yn dychwelyd i’r clwb; ar ôl anaf mor ddrwg â hynna, mae ei weld o efo crys Caernarfon ymlaen yn fy ngwneud i’n hapus iawn. Mewn sefyllfa 1v1, does ‘na neb yn y gynghrair yn well na fo.

Gyda dim ond un pwynt yn gwahanu’r ddau uchaf mae hon yn gaddo i fod yn gêm arwyddocaol ar gopa’r gynghrair brynhawn Sadwrn. Y pencampwyr presennol yw’r unig dîm sydd heb golli yn y gynghrair y tymor yma, a dyw tîm Craig Harrison ond wedi ildio unwaith mewn pum gêm. Mae Met Caerdydd hefyd wedi cadw pedair llechen lân mewn pum gêm a bydd prif sgoriwr y gynghrair, Sam Jones yn awyddus i ychwanegu at y chwe gôl a sgoriodd ym mis Awst. Does gan Y Seintiau Newydd ddim record rhy arbennig yng Nghampws Cyncoed ar ôl ennill dim ond unwaith yn eu pum hymweliad diwethaf, felly bydd y myfyrwyr yn ffyddiog o fedru sicrhau canlyniad cadarnhaol yn y brifddinas.

Bydd y ddau glwb gododd i’r gynghrair dros yr haf yn cyfarfod am y tro cyntaf dros y penwythnos. Mae dechrau rhwystredig Airbus yn parhau wedi i dîm Steve O’Shaughnessy golli pob un o’u pum gêm ers esgyn yn ôl i Uwch Gynghrair Cymru. Pontypridd sydd â’r record ymosodol wannaf yn y gynghrair ar ôl sgorio dim ond ddwywaith yn eu pum gêm hyd yma, gyda’r ddwy gôl yn dod yn eu hunig fuddugoliaeth o’r tymor yn erbyn Aberystwyth. Er ein bod ni’n eithriadol o gynnar yn y tymor mae hon yn teimlo fel gêm all ddiffinio ymgyrch y ddau glwb – byddai ennill yn hwb aruthrol, ond byddai colled yn arwydd clir mae brwydr tua’r gwaelod fydd hi eleni.

fe enillodd Pen-y-bont ar eu hymweliad diwethaf â Pharc Latham ym mis Mawrth, ond honno yw eu hunig fuddugoliaeth mewn chwe gêm yn erbyn Y Drenewydd (cyfartal 1, colli 4), ac honno hefyd oedd buddugoliaeth ddiwethaf Pen-ybont oddi cartref ym mhob cystadleuaeth. Bydd uchafbwyntiau’r

‘’I’d just finished off at Stalybridge Celtic in the Conference and I had nothing else on the agenda planned and I was just training with my friends,’’ Mudimu recalled.

Mudimu received his first call-up for Zimbabwe in 2018 while at Druids, making his international debut in a friendly against Zambia.

To accompany his achievements of playing on the international stage, Mudimu chalked up an impressive list of opponents while playing for Zimbabwe at the Africa Cup of Nations.

‘’Sadio Mané was lightning quick, sharp and really strong. He was a real tough opponent to play against – a bagful of tricks and he’s smart as well,’’ said Mudimu.

‘’The exposure of the league is amazing. Not every division or league in England or other countries get as much exposure and for players to be looked at properly, and it helped me massively.’’

The versatile 27 year old, who, following his time at Cefn Druids had stints at FC Sheriff, Ankaraspor, Torpedo Kutaisi and Altrincham, has been now been reunited with Griffiths, having recently signed the dotted line for Caernarfon Town.

‘’Before we played Algeria, I had a good conversation with Riyad Mahrez but he didn’t know who I was, let alone that I’m from Manchester so that was a really good

‘’Druids helped me more mentally than anything because that, in itself, was a challenge,’’ he explained.

"He gives me the sense of freedom to go and express myself and I really appreciate the work he does for me and hopefully I can pay him back on the pitch. I couldn’t give him enough credit as a manager on and off the pitch.’

‘’That season [2017/18] with Cefn Druids was great and we had a really good run that season going into Europe.’’

‘’I think we played Newtown away and when I got back, I got the call up which was fantastic,’’ Mudimu explained.

Mudimu featured in Druids’ UEFA Europa League qualifier against FK Riteriai in the 2018/19 campaign and caught the eye of the Zimbabwe national team.

"Salah was one of the most humble footballers I have met for his stature and Sadio Mané is so genuine. You never get the same experiences or emotions but it’s always

‘’When I went to the national team, I was in a room with the analyst and I didn’t think they’d have clips from me playing away to say, Cardiff Met.

‘’Huw told me the plans that the club have prior to signing. The season that I left [Druids], we went away to their place and it was very hostile. It was tough to play there against them and it looked like a really good, tight knit club. I’m looking forward to what I think will be a successful season."

‘’Mohamed Salah had just won the golden boot before coming into the Africa Cup of Nations and we had them in the opening game and they were the hosts. It was hostile enough and we only had a few thousand fans.

‘’Huw called me out of nowhere and that was that. He told me what was going on at the club and I loved everything about the Cymru Premier, so wanted to get involved straight away.’’

Mudimu first made the switch to the Welsh top flight in 2017 when he joined Cefn Druids, who were then managed by current Caernarfon Town boss Huw Griffiths.

‘’From the get-go, the target was to get top-six let alone getting European football so that was a great challenge against Connah’s Quay and TNS and it was tough. It mentally prepared me for the ventures of playing abroad and in the Africa Cup of Nations, which was a real eye opener.

‘’It’s a great honour, the highest honour. We played Zambia, who obviously now have a few English Premier League players and that was amazing. The atmosphere, playing in front of 50,000 fans is just surreal. They’re moments I will keep and cherish forever."

The rest of the stadium were Egyptian fans worshipping Salah every time he got the ball. It was electrifying and he would run at you and try all sorts of things. In one word, it was scary but it was more than a dream to play against

Alec Mudimu returned to the JD Cymru Premier in the summer as an established international footballer following a two-and-a-half-year hiatus from the league.

Mudimu has played across the globe but remains grateful to the Welsh top flight, as he believes it gave him the platform to play international football.

‘’We have a fantastic relationship. I really like the way he wants to play, and he understands and gives me the freedom to do those things.

ALEC MUDIMU:The JD Cymru Premier helped me become an international footballer

No, the onlythingIhavebeen able to rely on in my three years in the role at Caernarfon Town is a fantastic Board, a great management team andthe best supporters in the Welsh game. Trust is all you can hopefor, andI trust all thepeopleI’ve just mentioned. We all wantthe best fortheclubandwedo sowithoutanyegosandangles.Ourmotto is Un Clubfora reason!

Oneeasy!ofthe

So, over the summer we felt that we needed to progress the clubin as many ways as we could and the first thing we did was purchase electronic training gates, which are used to record the players’ sharpness, time sprinting levels and test speed. Even more importantly, Board member Pat Frost bought GPS systems for the whole squad, which accurately records distance covered in training and matches. Through the use of Electronic Performance and TrackingSystem(EPTS) devices, teams cantrack player’smovement on the pitch andcollect vast amountsof data on their performance,

From time to time we get thingswrong, andwheneverwedo we take responsibilityfor it and try and ensurewe don’t repeat them. But it’s not

Off the fieldwe decided that we shouldimproveour marketing, which we had already begun two years ago when Tom Haynes came on board as ourmarketingofficer.Tom hasnowleft theclubandwehave been luckyenoughto haveappointed Gwion Thomas in the role. We believethat Gwion’sworkwill helpdrive our social media presencein thefutureandwelookforwardto seeingwhathecan bringtotheclub.

And finally, for now, we have a very exciting project that we will be announcingverysoon thatis uniquetothewholeof Welsh football,as far as weknow. It will involveall ourstakeholders, sopleaseget ready to take part as soon as we sharethenewsof a new partnershipwhich we hopewill benefittheclubimmenselyin thefuture.

IMPROVING PROFESSIONALISM

There are no courses to go on for people to learn how to become chairpersonofa footballclub, andasfarasI know, thereare no books on the subject either. And I wouldhaveboughtthemall if there were!

One of the first projects he has set up is for a graphics company to come intothe clubto sort out thisseason’sheadshotsandI’m hoping we’ll be ableto sort out some players gifsin the process, which would be a first for us.

Paul,Chairman.Caernarfon Town Football Club.

It’s notjust themen’steam we are tryingto improveeither, as wehave set upanewladiesteam, underthemanagementof OwainBrynJones and Dei Pritchard and whilst its very early days, the signs are promisingthatwe will beable to fielda competitive ladiesteam forthe first time in a while.

such as their runningspeed, distance run, their position on the pitch, their heart rate andtheirbody's work rate.

thingswe decided over the summer is to try and improve the professionalismwithin the club. I’m not talking about the playing side here, as Huw andhismanagementteam havebeen excellentin giving the players the platform to perform, from preparing top class training sessions to implementing game plans based on each opposition team. I’ve been able to sit with Huw and Fish before and after matches as they dissect the opposition and explain our tactics for the match and so I know the lengths they go to to prepare the team. It’s fascinatingfora supporter likeme.

Financially, weare looking, like every other club, to findnew revenue streams and so have set up a new fund-raisingboard. Our first new such stream has been to set up a 100 club which is now up and running. We have other plans for the future, such as a juniorfootball tournamentontheOval, aSportsman’sDinner, andaChristmasraffle, again our first in about four years. In one way introducingthese new ideas may not be ideal duringthecost of livingcrises but we have to try to catch up with other clubs in the Welsh game, most if not all of whomalready do this type of stuff.

In the 2010 11 season Haverfordwest County were involuntarily relegated from the Welsh Premier League for the first time. On 5 May 2015, they were promoted back to the Welsh Premier League following an unlikely 5–0 victory against Aberdare Town.

Hanes Hwlffordd

Haverfordwest County were founder members of the League of Wales in 1992–93 but their stay was brief. Having accepted an offer which involved the redevelopment of their Bridge Meadow ground, and unable to find a suitable alternative ground of League of Wales standard, they resigned from the League in 1994.The decision to take a long-term view was fully vindicated by their return to the League of Wales three years later. The league has since changed its name to the Welsh Premier League.

In 2004 Haverfordwest County qualified for Europe via league position in the League of Wales and played in the UEFA cup losing over two legs 4 1 to Fimleikafelag Hafnarfjardar of Iceland.

History of Haverfordwest County AFC

In 1983 the Welsh League was reorganised to create a form of "premiership" for the leading clubs and Haverfordwest's facilities, administration and playing record secured their admittance. In the nine years of existence of this National Division, Haverfordwest were out of the top six only once, but their way to the title was blocked by the powerful Barry Town side. Their opportunity to take the championship came in 1990, once Barry had decided to move to English non-league football.

Haverfordwest Football Club was formed in 1899, and was quickly renamed Haverfordwest Town in 1901. In 1936, the name of Haverfordwest Athletic was adopted and the first team switched to the Welsh Football League, leaving a reserve side in the Pembrokeshire League. In 1956 they gained promotion to the Welsh League Premier Division, having won the First Division title. The present name of Haverfordwest County was adopted and the club embarked on a long stay in the top flight. Disaster struck in 1975–76 when the club won only four league matches and was relegated to the First Division. Promotion eluded them until 1980 and they went on to take the championship in their first season back, losing only five games.

We wish to thank Rhys Jones for his excellent work with us during his time at the Oval. Rhys joined us five years ago and worked hard to gain the qualifications required to become our sports therapist and we can safely say that he went above and beyond his duties as he carried out his work with us. Rhys decided to leave us during the summer due to personal circumstances and now works with Caernarfon Rugby Club. Thank you and good luck Rhys!

The visitors, who had former Town favourites Gareth Edwards and Jamie Crowther in their line-up, have not had the best of starts this season and arrived at the Oval on the back of defeats in all four of their opening four league matches.

LATEST MATCH REPORT

Thesition.visitors were in front just before the break, after Dan Roberts got on the end of a free kick to the far post, and knocked the ball down to Tomassen, who struck from six yards. The first half had been a peculiar affair, with Caernarfon dominating the first twenty-five minutes but seeming to go a bit flat, and Airbus taking full advantage by getting into the game and going ahead.

Whatever was said in the home dressing room at half time must have worked as the Cofis blasted out of the blocks after the restart and camped themselves in the Airbus half. Mike Jones pulled off two excellent saves to deny long range efforts from Noah Edwards and Joe Faux, whilst Edwards also saw another shot sail inches over the woodwork. The equaliser arrived in the fiftieth minute, when Darren Thomas whipped a cross in from the right and Sion Bradley rose at the far post to head past the advancing Jones. The goal spurred the Cofis on and they went looking for the lead immediately, Ben Wynne and Darren Thomas both going close to hitting the net in quick

Town started well and put plenty of passes together in the opening quarter to suggest that they had got over their narrow midweek defeat at Newtown and they dominated possession, without ever really threatening to score. The one real threat they created at this stage was a low Ben Wynne delivery across the sixyard area that new striker Lloyd Marsh-Hughes was just inches away from reaching as he slid in at the back post. Having looked compact and competitive,Airbus then began to enjoy more possession and in the thirty ninth minute Crowther should have done better after being teed up by Edwards in the box, but he could not get his shot on target from a promising po-

So, another impressive performance from Caernarfon that saw them sit in second position in the Cymru Premier League overnight and whilst it is still early days, Huw Griffiths will be quietly pleased with what he has seen so far from his players.

Caernarfon continued their fine run of home results last night after they fought back from a goal down to clinch a 3-1 victory over Airbus UK. Huw Griffiths named three of his four transfer day signings in the squad, and they all played their part in the exciting comeback victory.

of Rob Hughes on the hour mark provided the extra impetus the hosts needed to press home their dominance and the winger made his mark sixteen minutes after his introduction, putting his side ahead as he slid the ball past Jones having been put through by Thomas.Airbus continued to fight as they tried to get back into the game but Caernarfon had the final say when Jones brought down Bradley in the box, and the Caernarfon favourite picked himself up to score after Jones had initially saved his penalty kick.
