Friends who cross the sea for BUT John Currie and Simon Pryce from the Beeston Film Festival in the UK are delighted to be at the BUT FILM festival 2022. This is John’s second visit to Breda and it has been great to catch up with old friends such as Alex, Gino, Dorien, Tim, Lea, Nick and so many more. Simon has enjoyed not only meeting the festival organizers, but also some of the talent attending this year’s festival. He spent far too long discussing Lisa Cudalla’s tattoos before giving her dazzling performance, arching, twisting, and contorting her body into miraculous shapes. We also managed to catch two great films this evening, Death Wish and The Woman. The Death Wish screening included an insightful interview and Q & A Session with its lead, Robert Bronzi. It was disappointing to hear that Pollyanna MacIntosh could not attend although Alex did provide a reassuring shoulder for all of us to cry on. But now
after a very long day we have to say good night but look forward to an exciting BUT Saturday.

BUTplugged in Breda Every month, on a Wednesday, Chasse Cinema in Breda opens one of its rooms to pure BUTness. We open our mysterious film archive to cherrypick the craziest analogue screenings, which we show on 35mm, 16mm, or VHS.
