Excitement is in the air as we approach the return to golf at Brentwood Country Club. January and February were great planning and preparing months for the golf department. We represented BCC at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando where we met with a few apparel vendors to secure our Fall orders, looked at new opportunities in the technology world, explored some the newest gadgets, and signed deals with new vendors that you'll see in the Golf Shop soon.
We have been working hard behind the scenes planning and scheduling our 2024 golf tournaments, ladies programs, and junior programs. February is Men's Member Guest sign up month and this year was another sellout. As we approach the reopening of the golf course, we want to remind you of another great benefit of BCC membership, the Buyers Club. We are happy to share that the annual cost of the Buyers Club will remain the same at $125. Our newest Spring collections will be arriving soon so be sure to stop by the Golf Shop and get fully geared up for a new season, a new golf course, and a new era at Brentwood Country Club.
From all of us in the Golf Shop, Thank you so much for your patience and support through the entire renovation project. It's now time to enjoy the return on your investment. Godspeed to all of you and please don't hesitate to contact us with any comments or questions.
Tommy Baxter Head Golf Professional2024 Junior Golf Program registrations opened for all golf members on Friday, February 23. Friday, March 1 signified open registration for all members for the spring clinics and summer camps 1 & 2.

Another goal we have over the next couple of years is to establish the “BCC Junior Golf Roadmap”. This map will serve as a guide for all families with junior golfers, and help us create more recreational, social, and competitive golfers and further strengthen the game of golf at BCC.
The roadmap starts at 5 years of age with Summer Camps. From ages 5-8, we want to introduce juniors to the game of golf through fun activities and positive memories at the golf course. The summer camps will be focused on physical and golf activity, etiquette and rules education, and of course, snack time! Once a child has completed a golf camp and decided that they enjoy golf enough to practice more, we steer our juniors towards the “Swing into Spring” semester of clinics, with the goal of adding a fall semester to book-end the year and promote a year-round program.
The next step in the process is the PGA Junior League. This year we have broken the junior league into an instructional league and a travel team. The difference is the experience of each junior and level of competition. The travel team (2+ years of experience) will compete with Hillwood, Old Natchez, and Richland. The instructional league (less than 2 years of experience) will have weekly practices or matches at BCC.
Both teams will work through the newest program at BCC, “Up to Par”. The “Up to Par” program will help our golfers learn to score! Each contestant will begin 50 yards from the green, with the goal of shooting “par” of 36 or better for 9 holes. Once the student achieves the goal score from 50 yards, they will progress to 100, 150, 200 yards, and finally, the new teal color tee box at BCC. This program will offer on-course experience that will help the juniors know where to play from, how to play fast, and how to take care of the course.
We are looking to create more instructional and competitive programs. Stay tuned for more information as we work to provide something for every one of our junior golfers!
Best regards,
Andrew Kincaid, PGA Director of Player DevelopmentEvery year at the PGA Merchandise Show, the BCC professional team looks for new, innovative products that help our golfers continue to improve, create better tournament experiences, and add another level of service for our members. One of my favorite things that came from this year ’ s show is Coach 360. Coach 360, from Golf Genius, is a true coaching platform. As a student, you will have access to everyone ’ s teaching schedule for booking appointments, a personal folder with lesson notes and videos, and a feed that will allow you to communicate with your coach in between lessons As a coach, we will be able to record, edit, and upload videos during lessons, and communicate to all of our students from an individual and community standpoint
With new software comes some growing pains and a learning curve, but after working with Coach 360 for a couple of weeks, I feel like it will be a smooth transition for everyone. If you are preparing to take lessons or think you will take any lessons this year, here are some quick-action housekeeping items to take care of:
1. Head to your phone’s app store and download Coach 360 (image: right)
2. On your computer, bookmark https://bcctn.org/lessons. Once you log-in to the bcc site, the link will take you straight to the page for 2024 lesson fees and a link to the Coach 360 desktop application.
3. Start booking lessons with your favorite instructors!
NOTE: When on a computer, use the desktop link. When on a phone, use the app. If you access the website calendar link on a phone, the desktop version of Coach 360 will launch and make navigating the software more difficult.
The utilization of Coach 360 will help us improve the teaching program at the club I look forward to helping all of our golfers have more fun playing, shoot some record scores, and make 2024 an amazing year at BCC
As always, please reach out to me if you have any questions regarding the instruction program at the club, or if you need help getting started with Coach 360.
Use the Stack System to get going this spring!
After a long winter layoff, it is time to start gearing up for the upcoming season. This spring, your BCC professional team is using the Stack System to work back into golf shape and add some much desired yardage in the process! We are competing in a speed training contest, with a friendly wager and some pride on the line! The contestants include Head Professional Tommy Baxter, 1st Assistant Skyler Cochran, 2nd Assistant Matt Voss, Pro Emeritus Johnny Bridgeman, Outside Services Supervisor/Junior Golf Coach Mike Trinley, and myself, Andrew Kincaid.
On Tuesday, February 13, the staff was introduced to Stack, walked through a baseline assessment, and left with the task of completing their individual baseline assessment by the end of the day. The following week, we all began the six-week Foundation Program of the Stack Speed Training System. Each week will consist of three workouts swinging a hybrid length club with different weights, used in accordance with the Stack app and a speed radar. The program will follow the same mold for each contestant, but the app software will adjust the weight/sets/reps of each workout based on the individual’s results to promote progression and discourage plateauing
Here are the baseline results and starting point for each contestant:
On Tuesday, April 2, we will complete a “Final Assessment” to measure each contestants speed gained. We will award two prizes, the Speed Gained Award and the True Grit Award, for this competition. The speed gained will be as a percentage compared to their original driver speed. The grit award is based on the Grit Score on the Stack app, which assesses adherence to the program.
I am excited to see speed/distance gains for our professional staff! When you see one of us down on the range, swinging as hard as we can, feel free to offer a word of encouragement or some banter! This will help us get through the somewhat grueling workouts!
See you on the range,

Andrew Kincaid, PGA Director of Player DevelopmentDear BCC Members,
We hope this message finds you well and eagerly anticipating the arrival of spring. As we transition into the new season, we are delighted to announce that the golf course will reopen its doors in the middle of March, following our winter rest period. You can expect a follow-up email soon regarding the specific operational details.
We've taken many factors into consideration regarding our opening date, most importantly, the health of our putting surfaces. Despite some very frigid temps in January, and some extended time under covers and snow, the greens came out of dormancy quite early and responded as expected to warmer soil temperatures. Turf health in our tees, fairways and roughs looks to be as optimal as we could expect, and we look forward to their greenup and eventual mowing and grooming. Overall, our new course seems to have performed very well in its first Tennessee winter.
We have also been able to complete several tasks during shutdown that will pay dividends for the course and your enjoyment. All cart paths have been repaired. All the dormant playing surfaces have been sprayed for weeds and pre-emergent applied. Our crews began fixing several areas of rock work that needed addressing. Much of our reel mowing equipment has been rebuilt after mowing through grow-in. We have remained very busy and now look forward to maintaining your course for your enjoyment.
We appreciate your patience through this period of no play this winter. It was an important step to ensuring we have a healthy golf course to play this first full season. Considering we've had many warm days, the lack of pressure on our juvenile turf areas will only help us achieve our goals of excellent playing surfaces that much quicker.
We understand the anticipation and excitement surrounding the reopening of the course, and we are committed to providing you with exceptional playing conditions throughout the season. Please remember that we are still in the grow-in process, but you will see and experience marked improvements in our playing surfaces as the year progresses.
Regards,
Brad Erickson Golf Course SuperintendentGreetings BCC Members,
What a great start to 2024. The golf course is opening soon and the club looks fresh from the lovely renovations. We have good momentum coming off the winter months and now spring is next. In the kitchen, springtime cuisine is exciting, because, we can blend winter cooking techniques and springtime food products together for a unique "mini" seasonal approach to our offerings. Like hearty braised meat paired with light and earthy components makes for a nice dish. So you will see this mind set heading into March and early April. Over the next few weeks, we will be actively testing recipes for new menus to be executed in April. Also we will announce our next culinary event in a bit so stay tuned...
Highlights in March
10th: daylight savings... more time to play in the sun and grill out.
15th & 16th: Irish Culinary Specials for St. Patrick's Day...Good Food and Plenty of Beer.
17th: "All Green" St. Patrick's Day Brunch...
28th: Wagyu Beef Night. Showcase with a Local Farm. Several cuts of meat to choose from.
30th & 31st: Easter Weekend.
Our staff and teammates are all working hard to provide a premium experience for the members here at BCC. Through nightly lineups and meetings, we discuss the direction we want to go involving service standards, cuisine, timeliness, reservations, tasty spirits and the right atmosphere we want to set for our member experience. Thank you all for your support
