Another Tennessee winter is almost in the books, and we couldn't be happier to see it go! We had a lot of days with no golf due to extreme temperatures, but thanks to the efforts of Brad and the Maintenance Team, the golf course remains in great shape. We appreciate everyone's patience and support as we battled the frigid weather. During this time spent mostly indoors, the Golf Team has been hard at work preparing for the upcoming season. You've received a lot of emails recently (sorry for blowing up your inbox), but in an effort to keep everyone informed and execute our golf season at the highest level, effective communication is key. We appreciate all of you keeping up with what's happening around the club.
The Stakes member/guest tournament saw a new record number of entries for this year's lottery (154) and we were happy to announce the addition of the Fall Member Guest that will help alleviate some of the disappointment that comes to those finding themselves on The Stakes waiting list. We look forward to both events being big successes. The Golf Committee has been working on the fine details for the upcoming tournament schedule, and we are excited for what's in store. Our ladies' golf programs will kick off beginning in April with the 9HL, 18HL, and the Up to Par clinics. Junior golf clinics and camps opened for registration recently with almost each session becoming an instant sellout. We are also hosting two PGA Jr League teams again this year with the Travel Team and the Instructional Team. Last year, team BCC was dominant, and we look forward to compounding that success again this year.
Who knows what weather we will encounter in March and April but with a little luck and a lot of prayers from our BCC family, we look forward to the closing stretch as we anticipate the course waking up from Winter dormancy. Please remember to do your part in keeping BCC looking beautiful by filling your divots and repairing your ball marks. If you have time, fill/fix your divot/ball mark plus one!

2025 Junior “Up to Par” Program
Long-term player development!
In 2024, we introduced the “Up to Par” program to the PGA Junior League teams and our beginner lady golfers The program provides an easy way to track a golfer’s progress throughout the year and we want to expand the program to reach more members!
The goal of “Up to Par” is to develop golfers for life through challenges, instruction, coaching, and etiquette education Every golfer in the “Up to Par” program starts 50 yards from the green The objective is to score 36 or below, in nine (9) holes, from 50 yards Once a player has passed 50, they move back to 100, 150, 200, and finally the Hayes (blue) tees This process will replace the prior Junior Certified Program When the junior has passed the 150 yard challenge of the “Up to Par” program, they earn the ability to make tee times and play golf on their own.

Dear Members, Spring is nearly here, and we're looking forward to sunny days and great golf. The unusually harsh winter slowed some of our planned projects, but we're making good progress and are excited to enhance your golf experience this year. As we plan our course maintenance for the season, we'll soon apply pre-emergent herbicides and fertilizers to all areas and treat any visible winter weeds with post-emergents. Thanks to our efforts late last year, the course is very healthy as it comes out of dormancy.
It's hard to believe it's been a year since we reopened our newly renovated course. We have a few minor things to address, but the course is maturing beautifully. I fully expect this year to be fun and challenging, and for our members to be proud of their course for many years to come.
We look forward to seeing you on the course.
Sincerely,
Brad Erickson Golf Course Superintendent
Greetings BCC Members,
Writing this today, the weather is at a record high of 76 degrees and the club is active with an active tee sheet and a busy night ahead in the restaurants. Things are action packed here in the club’s galley and riding some good momentum from the past couple weeks. Tonight, we are offering a nice balanced list of specials and I just butchered some high quality swordfish, Duroc pork chops and 3o pounds of Verlasso salmon which is a favorite around the club.
We want to thank you all for visiting our Culinary Open House a couple weeks ago. We showcased some food items along with our physical kitchen and those who missed it, we will do it again in the fall. We also had the opportunity to introduce our culinary team to some of our members and it was fantastic. BCC has a great team of chefs that truly care about their job, our club and its members so that made the night even more special.
One chef that I would like to bring some attention to, is Jorge Alatorre. Chef Jorge is our longest tenured chef at 6 years and he is as solid as a rock in our foundation here at the club. Jorge runs the grill station at night and has developed a recipe for his namesake “Jorge’s Chicken” that is featured on our dinner menu. It is spicy, tender and full flavored, one of our favorite chicken dishes since I’ve been here. Also, for you brunch diners, you may recognize Jorge as our omelet aficionado as he works the egg station each Sunday. He has a tough exterior but he is as friendly as can be. A grea Kudos and Thank you Jorge.
