CUSTO ME R FE E DB AC K - B U I L D L ON G- T E R M R E L AT I ON SH I PS Ballston 1 - Mike Coyle, Greg Johnson, Mike Williams, Charles Petitt and Juan Sanchez

“Good morning all, I wanted to send out the latest update to the entire team regarding our multi-floor projects at Ballston 1; we’ve been working on this particular floor for a long time… I am happy to say that yesterday, with Greg’s help, we successfully passed our accreditation testing for the 3rd Floor secured space with flying colors. There were only minor items identified and we tag-teamed to resolve them onsite and immediately approved to our inspectors’ satisfaction. With this portion completed, we have finished all three floors at Ballston 1 to substantial completion and I am requesting GSA continue with close out actions with LPC and their vendors. There are a couple of small items having no impact on moving forward; they are very minor and Greg and I will coordinate their completion soonest. The remaining work on site now is IT-focused. Lastly, I want to say thank you to everyone on the project team; this particular build has been on our books since 2014 and thru the perseverance and patience from all of you, got us to the finish line. Each of you stuck with our agency thru three presidential administration, 4 DHS Secretaries, a complicated agency rebranding, and countless change orders that came about through all of it. Thank you for working with me as we constantly worked each of these challenges and in the end, met the exact mission needs our leadership wanted. It was an incredible feat that I often wondered if we were ever going to achieve. I also want give a special shout out to a few of you whom I worked with on almost a daily basis: To Greg—this was my first DHS project to work with Bognet and I can tell you, I hope it won’t be the last. Mike, your entire construction team provided us with three outstanding spaces that not only met our requirements, but in many ways, exceeded them. We have been fortunate to have Greg to take on so many of what were significant roadblocks, but his patience and ability to work with myself and the other trades, so that when we came to the table with a problem, he found us multiple solutions on how best to resolve them. That’s how I like to work and Greg was phenomenal as our PM; thank you for letting him stay throughout and get us over the finish line. I couldn’t have had a better peer to work alongside. Thank you, Greg—you’re a true professional. A few weeks back, I was internally struggling with if we were ever going to get to this point after all these years, but I had a conversation with our former LMS PM, Ron Ryan, whom himself is considered both a mentor and friend; Ron told me a successful PM’s job isn’t to know everything-- a successful PM’s job is to know who to call to get the answers he needs. I am in no way a PM who knows even a portion of what I should, but I can say with these projects, I surely knew whom I needed to call and learn from to make me better. Thank you GSA, Bognet, LPC, OTJ, GPI Century Link and Global Com—tho we still have to wrap it up, I am forever grateful to have had this opportunity to work alongside the very best in the business. WE DID IT!!!” V/R, Bubba
