Thankful. Grateful. Blessed.

These words are most present in my heart as we approach the end of the year. It feels surreal that we’re already here. Another reminder that while it may sound cliché to say time flies, it truly does.

As the first year of my term ends, I want you to know that serving as your Chair has been one of the greatest honors of my career, walking alongside you and witnessing the impact each of you brings to our mission of creating leaders.

It has certainly been a whirlwind around us, from tariffs to AI advancements, stock market swings, government tensions, and more. Yet through it all, our community has flourished. More members. More development opportunities. More women supported, empowered, and seen.

PWH is deeply grateful for the support our Corporate Partners and Sponsors give us.

Their investment goes far beyond financial support. They encourage their employees to show up, volunteer, lead, and grow within PWH. Their belief in our mission is what makes our continued growth and impact possible.

As you look back on 2025, I challenge each of you to pause and reflect on everything you have accomplished, both personally and professionally. They all count. Every connection you made. Every moment of courage. Every step of progress, big or small.

Every investment you made in yourself, and in one another.

As you reflect, consider what you are most thankful for this year. Where did you grow?

What were your wins? How do you want to challenge yourself next year? We still have time left in this year to grow, to stretch, and to support the women around us who are also pushing forward.

Recently, a speaker shared the idea of giving the Gift of Time, and it struck a chord with me and how essential it is to make every second count. It also reminded me how rarely we, especially as women, give ourselves that same gift. The to-do lists are endless.

The expectations are constant.

So, this holiday season, I challenge each of you to gift yourself Time - time to pause, to reflect, to rest; time to do something that brings you joy; time to be fully present in the moments that matter.

I am thankful for each of you, grateful to walk this leadership journey together, and blessed beyond measure to be part of an organization that is changing lives, one woman, one connection, one breakthrough at a time.

Wishing you and your families a joyful holiday season and a new year filled with growth, purpose, and possibility.

Highlights from the Midmark PWH® Leadership Experience

At Midmark’s Versailles, Ohio headquarters, nearly 70 Midmark PWH® members—joined by guests from The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati—gathered for a PWH Leadership Experience: Midmark Summit, a purposeful “minisummit” created by Midmark’s internal PWH committee to bring the spirit of PWH to its own campus. Serving as emcee, Jennifer Ramsey, Senior Engineering Manager and Chair of Midmark’s internal PWH Committee, set the tone and carried the theme—Connect. Empower. Lead.

The program moved with intent—early networking, keynote inspiration, three rotating breakouts and a leadership panel—all designed to sharpen influence and amplify women’s voices across healthcare.

MINI PWH® SUMMIT

Dr. Anne Eiting Klamar—Midmark board chair and PWH co-founder—kicked off the day, sharing her own path as an “accidental CEO,” noting that many have or will become “accidental leaders.” Framing “Leading with Purpose – the ‘Why?’ of Leadership,” she asked attendees to write down five words that embody their purpose in a leadership role. She invited reflection on what about that purpose ignites energy and gives it meaning—the importance of purpose being aligned with values, defining the character of leadership, making sure actions are always aligned with purpose and values, and, looking ahead, the legacy you want to leave: “Begin with the end in mind.”

Anne also shared two essential questions she asks herself and those she mentors: 1) “What is your definition of success? and 2) “How much is enough?”

The questions challenged the room to consider, “What would your day(s) look like if your purpose were aligned with your calendar?”

The opening keynote entitled, “Own Your Voice. Share Your Power,” featured Foundever® Senior Vice President and past chair of PWH, Rachelle Ferrara and brand-messaging strategist/improv coach Jill Pavlov, who flew in from Florida to be with us. (A special thank-you for going the extra mile to pour into our Midmark PWH members and guests.) They walked us through: Lead. Connect. Elevate. First, naming a personal “power word” for the day; sharing “the moment we almost shrunk” and choosing to lead anyway; tracing the relationships that helped us get here because networking is a longterm game; elevating others by being real, giving power (not just tasks), and celebrating small wins. They invited a “mirror moment” to ask: What will I own

today? Where am I holding back? And they closed with a simple definition of impact: Leadership isn’t how high you climb; it’s how many climb because of you.

Participants then rotated through three hands-on breakouts. One: “Unapologetically You: The Power of Authentic Leadership” challenged the myth of the “well-rounded teammate” and championed purpose, empathy, and self-awareness. Two: “Influence with Impact” offered practical tools for organizational savvy—stakeholder mapping, strategic communication, and executive presence. Three: “Resilient Together” created space for candid, peerled conversation on growth, support, and strength while highlighting mentorship and sponsorship as lifelines.

To end the day, a cross-functional leadership panel connected summit themes to real-world execution. Moderator Kelsey Schmiesing of Midmark guided a discussion on strategic planning, talent development, customer experience and visibility. The session invited attendees to name one takeaway and one action to apply immediately.

The “Styled to Lead: Power Jacket Exchange” turned purpose into a visible symbol of shared confidence. Attendees brought professional jackets with a story—1 jacket in = 1 jacket out—or opted to select one with a $5 donation.

The exchange embodied the summit’s theme: connecting through the stories we wear, empowering one another by passing confidence forward, and leading together as those jackets accompany new milestones. Remaining jackets were donated to Clothes That Work, which equips Miami Valley job seekers with attire, coaching, and readiness support.

By the closing remarks, participants left with more than notes—they left with

PROFESSIONAL ADVICE

After being displaced from my corporate career of 38 years with a fortune 500 Healthcare Solutions Company, I developed a strategy based on these three key categories. A three-point framework of Cash, Career, and Connections helped me step into business ownership with confidence.

Each pillar is crucial for a successful transition. Let’s explore each in detail.

Cash & Financial Readiness Financial stability is paramount, so before leaving your job do the following: > Assess your current financial health including your assets, liabilities, and monthly cash flow.

> Build a financial cushion in a high yield savings account. Fill it with enough money to cover your living expenses for a period of 6 to 8 months. If you are laid off, it could take this long to find your next job. > Simplify your expenses by first identifying and cutting unnecessary spending. Eliminate debt while you are still working. Living debt free provided me with freedom to save and invest for the future. > Develop a side hustle. Explore freelance work, consulting, or other passive income opportunities. I have friends who got into real estate, baking cakes, and other side jobs.

> Learn to invest. Consult with your financial advisor or invest on your own. I learned as a young adult how to invest in the stock market, and it allowed me to build my financial cushion to start my business. > Open an IRA and a Roth IRA. Consult your financial advisor to see which one is best for you. I was able to quickly roll over my 401K and Roth 401K while avoiding additional fees. This gave me opportunities to invest in more profitable equities that were not available in the company 401K. If you have a Roth IRA open for 5 years or more, you can access your principle before you are age 59 ½.

Career Roadmap Planning your next move is essential. Here are some items to consider: > Clarify your vision by defining your career goals and where you want to be 5 years from now. If you couldn’t fail, what would you want to do next? For me, I knew I wanted to be a coach and public speaker. > Identify skill gaps by determining what skills you need to acquire or improve. Look for ways to get those skills at your current company. I was able to move into an industry relations role that allowed me to gain skills in public speaking, networking, and coaching teammates to speak on behalf of the company. > Create a 5-year plan by outlining specific actions to take within the next 30 days, 90 days, and 1 year. Then after each year, layer in your financial goals too. > Track your progress by monitoring your achievements and then adjust your plan as needed. It’s OK to change your plan if it’s not working for you.

Connections Your network is a valuable resource.

Here’s how to fortify and extend it: > Connect with past colleagues by reaching out to former coworkers and professional contacts. After working for the same company for 38 years, I have friends that have gone to other companies in our industry. Many of them have reached out to offer support. > Engage actively on LinkedIn, share valuable content, and participate in relevant discussions. This is where you build your brand. Let others know what you are doing now. For me, I had to shift from being known for the work I had done

Our network of women has supported me throughout my career and continue to support me as I have started my own business. with technology and warehouse systems to a public speaker and coach. While in my industry relations role, I shared pictures of me speaking at conferences, my work with Toastmasters, and certifications in the Maxwell Leadership program. All of this helped to pivot my personal brand with my connections. > Join industry associations, participate consistently, and join committees.

For example, just like all of you, I am dedicated member of PWH. I was the Chair for the 2021-2022 term and am still actively participating on the board.

Specializes in Pharmacy and Hospice Care I am a pharmacist with over 10 years of experience in the industry.

Currently, I serve as a Clinical Manager in the hospice field, where I support interdisciplinary teams in delivering compassionate end-oflife care. Throughout my career, I’ve also worked in a variety of settings including ambulatory care, retail and community pharmacy, and Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs). think about the topics and pull resources in advance if applicable. We also have great communication regarding scheduling and flex as needed, which

Sometimes things just click, and this was one of those times. We have been meeting monthly since July 2023, and I will be here for her for as long as she needs or wants. She is now one of my people.

Sometimes the people closest to you are not the best source of guidance.

They may be too close to the decision or have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo. Having someone outside your organization, industry, etc., to turn to who can provide neutral advice is a game changer.

With her guidance, I took on the role of Mentor Circle Leader, where I had the privilege of supporting others on their own journeys. Mentor Circles is a PWH group mentoring program that enables professionals at all levels to come together to discuss and share knowledge on a topic. And then, most recently, I had the honor of introducing the closing keynote speaker at the 2025 PWH Leadership Conference—an experience that was both humbling and empowering.

Mentorship within PWH is more than just a program—it’s a reflection of our culture. It fosters growth, builds confidence, and creates a ripple effect of empowerment across our industry. Through mentorship, we not only support individual development but also strengthen the collective impact of women in healthcare.

Jessica’s mentorship changed my life, and I’m proud to pay it forward. That’s the power of mentoring.

CID Hosts Influential Leaders and Shares Their ‘Keys to Influential Leadership’ In today’s healthcare environment, leaders are navigating unprecedented complexity, shifting regulations, workforce challenges, political pressures, and rapid industry change. The PWH® Cultural Inclusion and Diversity (CID) Committee is committed to providing PWH members and our industry support through this challenging time.

On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, the CID Committee brought together respected healthcare leaders to share how they’ve harnessed influence to build trust, drive collaboration, and create meaningful impact. HIDA Elevates Two Long-Serving Executives to Senior Vice President Roles The Health Industry Distributors Association (HIDA) is pleased to announce two key promotions in its leadership team that underscore the association’s commitment to strategic growth and member-value enhancement.

HIDA has promoted Julie Berry to Senior Vice President, Conferences & Education.

In this role she will lead HIDA’s full portfolio of live and virtual events, along with all educational programming, furthering the association’s mission to support and connect healthcare distributors across the country.

Berry joined HIDA in 2016 and brings more than 20 years of professional experience spanning associations, healthcare, and the transportation industry. Her leadership in event strategy, member engagement, and innovative educational programming has been cited by HIDA as instrumental in delivering value to members, partners, and the broader healthcare distribution community.

“Julie’s dedication to excellence and her vision for impactful events and education have helped position HIDA as a leader in healthcare distribution,” said Matthew J. Rowan, President and CEO of HIDA. “Her promotion is a testament to her outstanding contributions and our confidence in her continued leadership.”

Simultaneously, HIDA is delighted to announce the promotion of Kelley Taft to Senior Vice President, Membership, effective as of the date of release.

In this capacity, Taft will lead HIDA’s membership development, retention, and engagement efforts, aligning membership strategy with the association’s long-term goals while working closely with HIDA’s leadership team and Board of Directors.

Since joining HIDA in 2016, Taft has advanced the way the association engages with members and industry partners, building strong relationships across the healthcare supply chain and developing data-driven initiatives to make membership more strategic and connected to HIDA’s mission.

For each cup of mix add to it 1 to 2 tablespoons of sugar, a ¼ cup of coconut oil, and 1 tablespoon chia seeds already soaked (thickened) in 3 tablespoons of water. Mix ingredients together. Shape dough into 1/2-inch-thick discs, the size of quarters.

Place discs in a baking pan lined with one of those silicone baking mats. Then bake at 375º for 14 minutes. I mean, come on – too easy, somewhat healthy, and tasty!

White Chocolate Eggnog Martini For a pitcher (serves 8): > 2C. eggnog > 2C. white chocolate liqueur (Godiva preferred) > 2C. vanilla vodka (like Stoli) > 1C. grand Marnier or triple sec > Freshly grate nutmeg over each individual glass
