1 when the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John 2 (though Jesus Himself did not baptize, but His disciples),
3 He left Judea and departed again to Galilee.
4 But He needed to go through Samaria.
5 So He came to a city of Samaria which is called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
6 Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied from His journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour.
7 A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.”
8 For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.
9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.
1 0 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”
1 1 The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water?
1 2 Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?”
1 3 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again,
1 4 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
1 5 The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw.”
1 6 Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.”
1 7 The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You have well said, ‘I have no husband,’
1 8 for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly.”
We find in the Gospel of John a wonderful passage of a Samaritan woman. In chapter 4 and verses 1 through 18, we see a situation that could have been recorded about modern life in many areas on Earth. Different ethnic groups, rival religious systems, different dress styles, and on and on it goes.
Too many people in today's world are looking for just enough Jesus to get them into Heaven but not too much that would change them to where the world would notice. Just enough of God's love to rescue us but not to the point that we would be compelled to stop our self justified anger and hate. We all know this is so true and probably we know it too well.
In this wonderful passage, we hear Jesus say that He needed to go through Samaria. The more self respecting Jews of the time were avoiding Samaria at all cost. You see these people were of mixed ethnicity. Jewish and Assyrian intermingling had taken place. This bigotry was an evil on both sides of this ethnic divide. Jesus set aside all these man-made issues because He was on the Father’s business and that superseded anything Satan or fallen man could stir up.
At Jacob's well was a woman in great need. She was there at the wrong time of day, It was noon and not just after sunrise or just before sunset. She had been through 5 divorces and was setting up house together with man number 6 without marriage. She was an outcast by the women of the city of Sychar as for the everyday Jew she was like swine. BUT GOD! Jesus was waiting for her as He is waiting for you dear friend. He asked for a drink. She was amazed as she could see He was dressed as a Jew and not of the Samaritan fashion. She had to brag as she stated that the Samaritan's father Jacob had dug this water well. She wanted to argue about where to worship and whatever else she could grasp. Jesus came to the heart of the matter.
She was looking for the Messiah and He was right there. He lovingly directed her toward her problem. SIN! As a believer, she ran with the news and the whole town came to hear and many were saved. Yahweh is Spirit. And we must worship Him in spirit and truth.
Now dear friend, where are you? are you saved? If so, are you surrendered to His will for your life? Are you open to learn from Him? How did Jesus go into a "bad" area and tell the message of the Kingdom? Let me give you 3 simple points from this passage of Scripture.

May the Almighty bless and use you for His glory, purpose and plan. To win we must surrender, and to have life we must die to self. Jesus Christ is our victory. And He is coming again. First FOR His bride and then 7 years later WITH His bride to the Earth!

The sun has set on our time in Tampa, Florida. There ’s still work to be done. We should never be satisfied or too comfor table where we live, and cer tainly not until God calls us home and we ’ve reached our Heavenly destination.”
Dr.
Christy Vineyard
Welcome to our “It’s Personal” page. For so long we’ve h j y f ing our highs and lows, praises and prayer requests with you, our dear friends and family. We wanted to stay connected with you because with God, it’s always personal. We hope you enjoy a little of our family connections.
Well, so much has happened since our last newsletter. Don’t you love how God is always on time? He definitely knows best.
First we are so thankful to report that Bob’s surgery has been a success. Since his injury in March, he’s been dealing with a lot of pain from a torn meniscus. His anticipated surgery wasn’t what the doctor was expecting and fixed his knee in a different way but we think it was a better way. His recovery time was greatly reduced and he is almost completely done with physical therapy, allowing him to come back to Virginia in much better health. Yay God! Thank you for everyone who prayed for him and checked on him while he was down. He can now start planning missions trips again which is the best of news. Can’t keep a good man down.
Secondly, some of you may not have heard the news but we have decided to return to Virginia. First, our lease was up and we knew that we had to make some decisions. While our time here was fabulous (I’d move back in a minute to Tampa, Florida), the Holy Spirit has drawn us back to Virginia. I turned down my offer to teach in Florida, after prayer and guidance and have taken a Kindergarten paraprofessional job at Redbud Run Elementary School. I am now in the process to become certified in early elementary with the goal of teaching Kindergarten. I have already passed my two prerequisite
classes and only need to pass my state tests to get my provisional license. I still have a few classes to become certified but I can go ahead and start working once state exams are complete. Since my time will be spent in studies, I will not be offering any pastoral counseling at this time. God will open the door again when it’s time.
Between enjoying the last bit of time here in Tampa, packing and preparing to move, helping Bob heal to his fullest recovery, it has been a very busy season and we are excited with anticipation. We will be staying at our home in Stephens City but await to see if God decides to move us or leave us there. Bob can continue to do ministry through his missions work and will focus on filling pulpit supply as well.
There were many things that went into our decision to come home, not just one, and some of those things were out of our control and unexpected. Changes in provision did play a part but we know that God is good all the time and He owns the cattle on a thousand hills; where He guides He provides. God has us! But many of the missionaries we support have been impacted and this move back makes for better financial strategies to continue missions. We want to express our most heartfelt appreciation for everyone who continues to supports BVM. God sees your faithfulness and knows that you are sowing into good ground. We will never know the extent of the difference we are making in the Kingdom. Never forget the Scripture that promises this....
1 CORINTHIANS 3:6-8 1 CORINTHIANS 3:6-8
"I HAVE PLANTED, APOLLOS WATERED, BUT GOD
"I HAVE PLANTED, APOLLOS WATERED, BUT GOD GAVE THE INCREASE. SO THEN NEITHER HE WHO GAVE THE INCREASE. SO THEN NEITHER HE WHO PLANTS IS ANYTHING, NOR HE WHO WATERS, PLANTS IS ANYTHING, NOR HE WHO WATERS, BUT GOD WHO GIVES THE INCREASE. NOW HE BUT GOD WHO GIVES THE INCREASE. NOW HE WHO PLANTS AND HE WHO WATERS ARE ONE, WHO PLANTS AND HE WHO WATERS ARE ONE, AND EACH ONE WILL RECEIVE HIS OWN REWARD AND EACH ONE WILL RECEIVE HIS OWN REWARD ACCORDING TO HIS OWN LABOR. ACCORDING TO HIS OWN LABOR.
Now catching you up on some of our kids. Some of you are aware that we had quite a scare a few weeks ago. Our oldest grandchild and only grandson was diving in a swimming pool when his head hit the bottom and his neck was broken.

We can never tell you enough how thankful we are for your generosity. It is our prayer, that as God sees your generous spirit, that He knows He can trust you with what He has given to you, and that He will fulfill His promise, that your lives will be overflowing with the Spirit of God and have all of your desires met, and then be an even greater blessing to the Kingdom.
