“Then a great multitude followed Him, because they saw His signs which He performed.”
Jn 6:2
There are only two miracles that are recorded in all four of the Gospel accounts of the ministry of Jesus. One is the Resurrection and the other is the feeding of the 5,000. Let us look at John 6:1-13 together. We find Jesus in the north of Israel around the Sea of Galilee. He is healing miracles on the sick and diseased. These demonstrations of the power of God always draws a throng of people, those who have need as well as the curious.
The Scripture tells us in this passage that the Feast of Passover was near. The great deliverance of the children of Israel from the bondage of Egyptian slavery. Jesus decides to ascend the mountainside and He surveys the mass of people and asked an important question. Many skip over this question or they rephrase it but Jesus asked "Where" shall we buy bread that these may eat?
Jesus always has a purpose in what He does and when He speaks. The question is a test for His disciples as He knows exactly what He will do.
Philip answers by saying it would take 200 denarii to feed all of these people. A day’s wage was 1 denarii. That is nearly 7 months wage! Remember Jesus asked "where" and not "how" to get bread. Andrew chimes in and says he has found a boy with five hushpuppies and a two-piece fish dinner. The work translated loaves are really cakes, or in an Appalachian English vernacular, biscuits. Remember the question? Where and not how.
Jesus takes the lead and tells them to have the men to sit down. Why only the men? Because the men would then feed their families present. There is another lesson! Husbands are responsible for their families and not the government.
Jesus demonstrating faith as He is operating as a Spirit-filled man, gives thanks to the Father and gave the bread to His disciples as He did the fish. Everyone got their fill and then there were 12 baskets full left over when they gathered up the leftovers. This was an eyeopener for many of the men present. Many confessed that Jesus was the One who was to come although hardly any knew exactly what that fully meant.
Here is what the Holy Spirit has shown me from John:1-13.
1. You can't manufacture a miracle but you can hinder or even prevent one. Believing and obeying the Master are essential if you want to be used by the God in the ministry of the miraculous. Faith is the currency of Heaven. Without faith it is IMPOSSILBE to please God.
2.You can't manufacture a miracle but you can prepare for one.
A function of the Holy Spirit is to guide you in truth. Through reading, meditating and believing the Bible, you will be opened to the supernatural power, guidance and usefulness of our Lord. Never forget it is the character of God in the past that allows us to trust Him in the present. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. There is only one way to heaven to miss Hell. It is by grace alone though faith alone in Jesus Christ alone!
THE GREATEST OF ALL MIRACLES IS THE SALVATION OF A SOUL. CHARLES SPURGEON
INITIATES THE WORK. Being willing AND available opens the doors of opportunity to be used mightily by the True and Living God. Not everybody is called to go around the Earth or across national borders but everybody can help the ones that are called to go in your stead.
REMAINS THE FOCUS. It must never be self-gratification, selfexaltation or demanding the spotlight by the disciple of Christ but it is Jesus that is our focus. It is His power and glory. He is the King and Savior and Healer. we are privileged servants and co-laborers
Oh what a blessed place we find ourselves and being saved, filled with the Holy Spirit, and used in His Vineyard for His glory. It won't be very long and we will be gathered to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb! Let's get about our Father's business!

Welcome to our “It’s Personal” page. For so long we’ve had the joy of sharing our highs and lows, praises and prayer requests with you, our dear friends and family. We wanted to stay connected with you because with God, it’s always personal. We hope you enjoy a little of our family connections.
With evidence that the Lord is honoring His promise, that our year of grief is over and we have entered a season of restoration, we have been blessed with a second vehicle. Although we were very thankful to have just the one mode of transportation, we quickly discovered that that was not meant for us. IT’S about RESTORATION! The devil took two cars from us and we were not going to settle for just one. We are so thankful for Pastor Curley Ray, Jr. who made it possible for this blessing.
Dr. Bob will be returning to Cana, Virginia, the weekend of March 9. This has always been a great time in Mayberry USA. Come visit with us when we are in North Carolina, just over the Virginia state line. New things to share.
Chaplaincy. Is that next chapter of our lives? It is something that I, Christy, am seriously praying about. I exploring further the idea of chaplaincy and ministering through a hospice program. Although I am enjoying a time of teaching kindergarten in this long-term position, I am wondering if I just enjoyed it a little too late in life. I know I am there for a purpose. I had a precious youngster who lost a parent two months ago tell me in a soft voice, “Ms. V. I don’t want to go home. I miss you.”
Lord, help me, I wanted to sweep them up and put them in my pocket to take are of. So my time at this school is for a purpose I know. But please join me in prayer as I decide which road to take.
We had an unexpected visitor this past month. Ivy Ting and her friend were in the Tampa area and looked us up. She is our first visitor!! We hope she is not our last. We caught up with lots of tears, laughs and giggles. Honestly I think the shopping might have been their favorite part. Thanks, Ivy. for coming. You’re welcome any time.
Spring break is around the corner. Tori is thinking about bringing her little family to see us. Can anyone say grammy time? I can see a beach in our future.
Dustin got his real estate license and is now able to help you handle all of your real estate needs. Reach out to me for his contact. He will be primarily in the DC area.
Our tree fell in the back yard during one of the very windy Shenandoah Valley winter days. Broke through to the other side. Thankfully no one or the house was hurt, but the fence took a hit. Nothing that can’t be repaired.
Well, that’s about all for now. Keep your eyes open for future newsletters and we will catch you up again.
Much love Christy
Dr. Bob Vineyard heeded the call to missions in 1973, having felt the call to preach at the early age of four. With over five decades of different ministry roles, he now dedicates himself entirely to missions.
He firmly believes that the most effective approach to global ministry involves empowering indigenous pastors to impact their communities, fostering a shift towards a Kingdom culture within their own contexts. Through BVM, individuals are provided with basic sustenance like simple meals such as rice and beans and meat if available, which for some serves all too often as their sole meal of the day. This act of compassion opens the door for Dr. Bob to share the Gospel, allowing listeners to embrace faith, undergo baptism, and commence a journey of spiritual growth under the guidance of local pastors.
Dr. Bob expresses deep gratitude for the prayerful support and financial contributions that sustain this vital ministry.

We can never tell you enough how thankful we are for your generosity. It is our prayer, that as God sees your generous spirit, that He knows He can trust you with what He has given to you, and that He will fulfill His promise, that your lives will be overflowing with the Spirit of God and have all of your desires met, and then be an even greater blessing to the Kingdom.
