NONA TAI “Flower Arranging” from Floral Design Studio
Nona Tai has a unique approach to creating flower arrangements. She imagines a design that expresses an idea and is visually entertaining. Nona developed these concepts in her early training in Alameda and Pleasanton and has made floral design a career for 25 years. She is the owner of Floral Design Studio in Fremont. Nona has honed her attention to detail creating floral arrangements mainly for weddings and large events. Nordstrom is one of her clients. Using the principals of Ikebana in many of her arrangements, Nona believes flowers can express emotions. Nona works hard at her craft and is at the Flower Mart at least three times a week preparing for large weekend orders. Nona believes it is important to understand a client’s vision and tries to create a design that reflects that vision. She notes that it is important to know your materials well and what works together. Nona is always searching for new ideas and travels to flower farms in foreign countries like Ecuador and Columbia.
