I’ve always loved to draw, but up until recently I never knew about the best way to start a drawing: sketching
Sketching really isn’t hard at all! For example, my picture of Santa was started off with some messy circles and ovals Then, starting at the top and working down, I added details in pencil like the hat, mittens, and belt Next, I went over it all with pen, erased all unnecessary lines, and coloured it in (Perfect!)
I learned how to sketch from my uncle, who is a caricature artist. However, I learned how to make shadows from an artist’s YouTube channel. His name is Howard Lee.
These paper animals that I created are based on real life animals, and look a lot like them too!
The pelican eel is a rarely seen, slow-moving species of fish that often lives near the bottom of the ocean Its long, expandable jaws will snap up any unfortunate fish that is near them Usually however, the pelican eel eats tiny plants and animals that are drifting in the water Its jaws are so expandable that as soon as it opens its jaws, it looks more like a shapeless blob Great! We’ve covered the first species
This animal is a dinosaur-like carnivore It doesn’t have very fast jaws like the pelican eel, but its mouth is HUGE! The tylosaurus is prehistoric, meaning it went extinct around the time of the dinosaurs. It was one of the top predators of its time. It was basically a huge lizard with a fishlike tail It ate pretty much anything that fit into its mouth Lastly, I have some other paper animals that are make-believe
