

Welcome to September edition of our newsletter. This newsletter is developed by the BIPORAL public relations committee, to disseminate information on current events in the estate. The publication will be quarterly, the goal is to offer a wide range of content to keep residents informed, engaged and entertained.
On 27th June 2023, a delegation of BIPORAL executives led by the Chairman Mr Frank Aigbogun, met with the Eko Electricity Distribution Company team to further foster the relationship and collaborate on finding effective means in which Banana Island can enjoy a 100% power supply
The Managing Director of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), Ms Tinuade Sanda emphasised how Banana Island is a prominent customer to their establishment EKEDC and BIPORAL exco also agreed to work together to enhance customer service and improve communication and importantly collaborate on equipment improvement.
The possibility of a smart metering system that will do more than what we currently have was also discussed. EKEDC also expressed their willingness to explore opportunities to improve electricity supply for Banana Island including the rehabilitation of the dedicated power line from Alagbon into the Island.
BIPORAL administration has provided resources and services to support residents in waste disposal All common areas within the estate have functional recycling bins. Proper waste disposal is crucial for maintaining a clean and healthy living environment in Banana Island.
House to house waste disposal in the estate is scheduled for every Tuesday & Wednesday For details on registration for waste disposal contact +2348129939485. Residents are not permitted to station their waste bins outside their plots except on garbage pick up days. Violation of this rule attracts a fine of ₦50,000 after a caution letter. To preserve and promote tranquillity within the estate, BIPORAL appeals with residents to please reduce excessive noise emanating from their households and unpleasant sounds such as blaring car horns and construction noises. It is important to note that continuous exposure to high levels of such noises can lead to increased stress, irritability, hinder productivity and contribute to feelings of anxiety and unease. Smoke detectors are designed to detect the presence of smoke and sound an alarm, providing early warning in the event of a fire It is important that smoke detectors are regularly checked and maintained by testing them monthly and replacing batteries annually is essential to ensure their effectiveness The fire extinguishers must be refilled every 6 months for its effectiveness in the event of a fire You will agree that the cost of the extinguishers are way incomparable to the value and worth of our individual and collective homes Ensure you get yours today, while also watch out for each other

Banana Island is on the precipice of an exciting new chapter with plans to upgrade Bamisoro into a recreational park that brings residents together and adds a touch of greenery to our urban landscape This project aims to be a centrepiece of leisure, wellness and community engagement A comprehensive overview of this great addition to our community will be provided in this article , including the various amenities, the sustainability initiatives and community engagement strategies in place.
Bamisoro is located at the end of 2nd Avenue and is popularly known for engaging sport activities in the estate Recognizing the need for a place where residents can relax, unwind and engage in various recreational activities, the BIPORAL executives embarked on a mission in partnership with Providus Bank to transform Bamisoro into a vibrant and functional recreational park This endeavour was driven by the desire to enhance the quality of life for all residents, both young and old, by providing a dedicated space for leisure and outdoor enjoyment The project team is working closely with experts and professionals to ensure it is delivered by December 2023 for the use and benefit of all residents.
Residents who are sport enthusiasts will be delighted to find a range of sport facilities within the recreational park which includes 2 international standard lawn tennis courts, ultra modern basket ball court and a soccer pitch. A space is provided for everyone to engage in friendly matches and get an adrenaline rush In addition, the park will provide an extremely comfortable section for yoga lovers
Designed with ample green spaces for picnics, this park will be an oasis within our Island To ensure that the picnic areas are inclusive and accessible to all residents, we have incorporated universal design principles, creating wheelchair-accessible paths, providing seating options for individuals with mobility limitation and sensory elements for those with special needs This project offers a safe haven for relaxation and recreation, fostering a sense of communal belonging within our community.

The Christmas house decoration competition serves as a platform for residents to showcase their creativity, inspire others, and create lasting memories for neighbours, friends and families at large
Guidelines and Participation Eligibility
Participation in the BIPORAL Christmas House Decoration Competition 2023 is open to all residents of Banana Island

Rules and Regulation for Decoration Display
There are a few rules and regulations to ensure fair play and safety All decorations must be family-friendly, participants are responsible for following regulations regarding electrical connections, and other safety measures. Remember, the goal is to showcase creativity this Christmas and enhance the seasonal tradition
In the Christmas House Decoration Competition, the judging criteria typically include creativity, originality, overall design, and integration of lights and decorations
Judges will evaluate how well you've captured the essence of the holiday spirit and how your display stands out from the rest
