What a pleasure it is to welcome you to Fenwick and what a privilege it is to share with you our Fenwick story Once you choose Fenwick, you will always be a member of our Fenwick Family

At Fenwick, you will know balance. You will be held to high expectations, to be sure, both in and out of the classroom You will also be lifted by strong supports, academically and emotionally You will be encouraged to grow as a scholar, for school is “Job #1” at Fenwick. And you will be encouraged to develop all of your gifts and talents in athletics and the arts, through service and various clubs so that you make the very most of your unique, God given potential. In short, we are not about stressing you out; we are about stretching you up…to become your best self.

ARTISTICALLY

Fenwick fosters a vibrant culture of the arts focused on creative expression, genuine collaboration, positive growth, and meaningful achievement. Home to a variety of courses and programs in the visual and performing arts, Fenwick offers students the chance to develop established talents and to explore new passions. We recognize that a student’s experience in the arts provides a special opportunity for personal growth aesthetically, emotionally, and spiritually and we celebrate each young person’s unique gifts.

Fenwick artists have ranked at the top of the state in winning Boston Globe All Scholastic Awards Fenwick thespians star on stage in multiple productions both plays and musicals each year in our nearly 1,000 seat theatre Concert Choir travels for performances to locations such as Carnegie Hall and Disney World Fenwick Band performs on stage and in the stands for home football and hockey games Over their high school careers, through the curriculum and as part of co curricular activities, each student participates in the arts at Fenwick Student artists are accepted to highly competitive art programs at leading colleges such as Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and Rhode Island School of Design (RISD)

At Fenwick, the fields, the courts, the track, and the ice are all extensions of the classroom where our student-athletes learn the virtues of teamwork, discipline, commitment, and leadership From the gym to the rink, across all sports, Fenwick has earned outstanding success with numerous league, sectional, and state championships Fenwick’s 60 acre campus is home to some of the most competitive and accomplished athletic programs on the North Shore Most importantly, Fenwick produces young women and men of character and integrity who reflect and reveal the highest standards of excellence

22 sports play all of their home competitions on campus

Peer Mentors develop leadership skills by coordinating service activities, planning liturgies and retreats, and helping with Open House and Orientation

SPIRITUALLY

Fenwick is a community of faith where young people grow morally and spiritually, making their unique journeys toward adulthood in the sacred company we share as the Fenwick Family. We encourage students to pray always, to see Jesus in all persons, and to be open to the ever-unfolding grace of God in their lives. The eternal, Christian values of faith, hope, and love are at the center of our school, where students learn to become servant leaders.

Each school day begins with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance Daily Mass and spiritual counseling are available to all students through our religious staff Students and faculty provide more than 10,000 hours of community service annually Our Senior Service Program calls students to realize their potential and their responsibility to impact and influence the world 100% of students actively progress in their faith through grade level retreats We have two full time priests on our faculty

Fenwick F.I.R.S.T.

At Bishop Fenwick, we put first things first. This defines the Fenwick experience. We center the exceptional education of our students on what matters most.

Faith: Each young person is invited to develop his/her own relationship with God, and we celebrate the diversity of those relationships by living the gospel message common to all faiths love of God and love of neighbor.

Integrity: Success is defined less by awards and accolades and more by values and virtues. Each person’s integrity is sacred as sacred as each person’s dignity Mentors model respect, honesty, courage, perseverance, goodness and loyalty.

Relationship: Relationship is at the heart of Fenwick. We are the Fenwick Family. Students are immersed in positive relationships with classmates and teammates, teachers and coaches. The community and camaraderie are palpable.

Scholarship: The most important room is the classroom, and the classroom is everywhere. Excellence and innovation drive teaching and learning With high expectations and strong supports, students develop the skills they need to excel, thrive, and lead.

Tradition: From football games and track meets to math competitions and theatre productions, Fenwick is rich in tradition. Ours is a legacy of spirit and service The connections at Fenwick are forever; these bonds are as eternal as our mission.

FENWICK CONNECT

At Fenwick, we are intentional about community and we are centered on relationship. In a world of so much isolation and alienation, in a culture where so many young people experience loneliness and all that goes with it we know that we must create time for connections. Our connections with God, within ourselves, with our classmates and colleagues, and among our entire Fenwick Family are vital and sacred. And these relationships do not happen by accident. Each Monday morning, we gather together as an entire community students, faculty, and staff to celebrate the prior week’s successes and to highlight the upcoming week’s opportunities. We start with prayer and the pledge, and we call to mind and heart all who are most in need of our care and concern. We award Fenwick FIRST, recognize a variety of student achievements, promote events and activities, and even hand out Dunkin Donuts gift cards to those who answer Mr. Nunan’s trivia questions! This weekly meeting, often injected with numerous student and teacher voices, is a critical touchstone for our entire school. Each of the other mornings, beginning with the Seniors on Tuesdays and concluding with the Ninth Graders on Fridays, we bring an entire grade level together for prayer, reflection, and conversation. Amidst Scripture readings, shared petitions, and student announcements, we have Fenwick Connect and Reflect. Fenwick Connect and Reflect (FCR) is our public speaking program where during each morning gathering, two students deliver speeches to their classmates on a topic of their choice The speech could be about a summer job or a travel experience, a news story or a life lesson, a favorite book or movie or an inspiring family member or personal hero The topics are as diverse as our students, and the applause is loud and genuine!
