hen news of the Coronav irus broke, BHC member Gary Crandall’s first thought was “I’d like to do what I can in this fight.” Crandall did just that in the early 90’s during the Gulf War, pivoting his Ohio-based pool compan y’s manufacturing efforts toward producin g camouflage covers for M1 tanks and Apache helicopters.

“With masks in dire demand , I put one of my engineer s to work, researching on Google how to manufacture them. We made the first prototyp es that day.” As they quickly turned from cutting and sewing safety product s for the pool industry to creating mask sewing-k its for the medical community, word spread and volunteers came forward. In total, GLI Pool Product s donated over 140,000 masks to first responders, healthcare workers and nursing homes. Local businesses, church groups and home voluntee rs in the Ohio area stepped in to take part. “We provided a safe pickup for the mask kits,” he added. "People drove over an hour to get them, sew them and bring them back to us. The American spirit is alive and well.” Fellow member Gary Crandal l’s efforts to deliver help where it’s needed most garnered local and national media coverage, includin viewNBC-af this filiate WFMJWe encourage everyonegtoOhio TV. Unparalleled Golf Practice Facility, Dog Park, River Park and World Class Fitness & Spa, It’s All Right Here! The golf experience at Berkeley Hall is a seamless blend of natural wonder and architectural craftsmanship, with our two Tom Fazio-designed courses, inspired by classic designs of the 1920s, such as Riviera Country Club, Winged Foot and Seminole. With routing that meanders through open coastal landscape framed by seaside grasses, dramatic elevation changes, beautiful water features, and bold strategic bunkering. To truly enjoy our courses, we dedicated 33-acres to creating one of the finest golf practice facilities - Named a Golf Digest “Top 75 Golf Practice Facility,” and one PGA Tour players have called among the world’s best.

At our world-class Fitness Center & Spa we offer a balanced approach to innovative sports medicine with fitness evaluations and TPI training, along with wellness, sauna and steam rooms, indoor and outdoor pools, state-of-the-art pickleball and tennis, and relaxing spa treatments. Pups and their owners can’t get enough of our Dog Park, with plenty of space to play and romp. Down at the River Park, it’s easy to think as sunlight glimmers through the trees, along the banks of the Okatie river. Surrounded by walking paths and nature trails below moss-draped live oaks, our community dock is the perfect place to drop in a line for some afternoon fishing, watch dolphins at play or simply enjoy the sun set. This stretch of river affords deepwater dock access to the Atlantic, for a view members treasure.

EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE STANDARDS

The Berkeley Experience

Experience Experts

When it comes to going above and beyond, it is the essence of Berkeley Hall’s Experience Expert Awards Program which recognizes, celebrates and rewards employees who exemplify the club’s values in their job performance and interactions with co-workers, management, members and guests. Club management and members nominate Experience Experts quarterly. ʻʻThis level of exceptional excellence is the benchmark for our team, who exemplify the very best of the Berkeley Experience.” –Adam Kushner, GM/COO

A Cottage Stay Our Charleston-Style Cottages offer all the comforts of home. Perfect for member guests, family stays, golf weekends, wedding parties, and more.

Exceptional Services

Exceptional is what the Berkeley Experience is all about – from the moment you are greeted by our friendly Security Team at the front gate to your first view of the Savannah Gardens fountain, illuminated by soft lighting and surrounded by our gorgeous gardens. With an attention to detail and impeccable courtesy, we’re happy to provide the best in member service, from our 24hour Security to the full-service Concierge team, providing everything from dining reservations to notary services, helpful travel information and nearby recommendations for the desirable neighboring destinations of Savannah, Charleston and Hilton Head Island. Here, our welcoming staff greet members by name and make everyone feel at home. Member needs are catered to with premier services and amenities such as onsite personal tailor and barber services, as well as lock and leave options – all of which distinguish our defining culture for the past two decades.

When social dining and activities were limited this year due to the pandemic, the Club found new and innovative ways to meet member needs: • Club Commissary offering essential grocery and household staples • Outdoor Fitness Classes • Online Ordering • At-Home Dining Delivery • Orders To-Go What we found, is that many of these services were clearly desired and we have retained and expanded upon them as we continue to enhance our member services and Club amenities.

ADAPTING TO CHANGING TIMES

Meeting the Needs of Today and Tomorrow

Berkeley Hall’s forward thinking and exciting vision takes shape with $5.1M Phase I of our $15M Master Plan. The reimagined Clubhouse centers around the new 4-Seasons Veranda. Here, members can gather for casual dining on the nearly 5,000 square-foot Veranda year-round. Whether enjoying drinks after a round or dining as the sun sets with views of North Course #9th and #18th holes. Club refinements reflect our casual Lowcountry design; the renovated Mixed Grille serves as a more formal dining venue with a relaxed sophistication found throughout updates to the Jeffersonian-style Clubhouse. With an influx of new members this year, Berkeley Hall’s membership is a growing one. One shared sentiment is the desire to find a forward-thinking community. Phase I demonstrates that commitment to an enhanced member experience. Expectations have changed and our newly launched Club-branded App offers a transformative, integrated experience that embraces that momentum. Tee times, dining

reservations, spa services or golf carts waiting at the tee, it’s all there. Along with valet requests, club amenities, and member preferences that allow our team to deliver stellar service. Evolving technologies also lead the way on the North and South Courses, where the Club has made continuous reinvestment: • $4.3M Golf Course Enhancement & Drainage Project • Regrassing and Golf Course Renovation • Tom Fazio Design Team Plan for North & South Courses As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, our membership is poised to usher in a new era that reflects our Club lifestyle. OVERALL EXPERIENCE

An Exceptional Place to Call Home

We like to say our Members tell our story best, as they share the “Berkeley Experience” that defines the friendly culture of Berkeley Hall. Nestled in the heart of the coastal Lowcountry, our distinctive, private golf community is edged on the banks of the pristine Okatie River, a world with a casually inviting and active lifestyle that sets the standard for all private communities. The beauty of our 980-acre property is truly incomparable. With two world-class Tom Fazio courses and a stunning Jeffersonian-style clubhouse as our backdrop, the real appeal is our welcoming Club lifestyle, a warm, social community where it’s easy to find a golf game, or learn the game as it was intended, with a camaraderie of like-minded players. We have more than our share of non-golfers too, who revel in the natural beauty of Berkeley Hall’s Lowcountry setting. With two decades of Club tradition, the truest of friendships (both new and old) are what bring us together for seasonal festivals, Block Parties, Home for the Holiday events, Oyster Roasts, our Grand Fourth of July Celebration, and so much more. At Berkeley Hall, there’s always something to do, and experiences to share. Members and their families enjoy year-round social events and gatherings, from casual happy hours and wine dinners to holiday celebrations and live music under the stars. Traditions are made here, weddings and anniversaries are celebrated, new families welcomed, and years of family memories are cherished. Our emphasis on the exceptional is integral to who we are. Here, Berkeley Hall’s intentionally smaller community offers an ease of knowing your neighbors, the staff who feel more like family and the beauty of our surroundings is beyond compare.
