Lunch & Championship Shootouts to follow play

Flighted match play event. Flights will be comprised of 6 teams based on total team handicap-index, with each team playing one 9-hole match against each other team in their flight. Matches will be better ball of partner net.
1 point per hole won, 1/2 point for a tied hole. All holes will be played out. Holes that are not played will be considered a tie. The winners of each flight will advance to the Championship Shootout.
Prizes will be awarded in each flight
Closest to the Hole Prizes on all Par 3’s on each day
In the event of a two-way tie for flight winners, the first tie breaker will be the individual match between the teams. If that match was a tie, there will be chip off to determine the flight winner. If more than two teams are tied for the flight winner position, and one team did not beat all the other teams that are tied, all teams will take part in the chip off to determine the flight winner.
Rulings & Disputes - Any ruling must be addressed before teeing off on the next hole (or before leaving the putting green on the last hole). During play, teams may agree on a rule or decision, even if they later prove incorrect.
Representation of a Side - A team may be represented by a single partner for all or part of a match. Absent players may join at the start of a hole, but not during a hole.
Concession of a Stroke - Concession of a stroke, or hole, may not be declined or withdrawn Order of Play - The ball farthest from the hole must be played first. Within a team, balls may be played in any order that the team decides. The team on top of the scorecard has the honor on the first hole. The teeing order is changed only upon winning a hole.

The Shootouts will be played as Alternate Shot. The team handicap will be 50% of the combined indexes. Strokes will be taken as they fall on the 18 hole scorecard.
The Ladies’ Championship Shootout will take place on Holes #10 & #18 of the North Course. All three flight winners will play Hole #10 with one team being dropped (highest score). If there is a tie, a chip off will take place. The final two teams will play #18 to determine the Champions.
The Men’s flights will be split into two groups for the Championship Shootout. Group #1 will be Flights 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11. Group #1 will play Hole #8 and three teams (highest scores) will be dropped. The three remaining teams will then continue to Hole #9 and two teams will be dropped (highest scores). Chip off will break any ties.
Group #2 will be Flights 2, 4, 6, 8, 10. Group #2 will play Hole #16 and two teams (highest scores) will be dropped. The three remaining teams will then continue to Hole #17 and two teams will be dropped (highest scores). Chip off will break any ties. The winners of each Group will proceed to Hole #18 to determine the Champions.
In the event of a tie for the Championship Shootout on Hole #18, the hole will be played one further time. If still tied, a closest to the hole will take place. Both players will hit one shot.
We encourage all participants to be present for the Shootouts

Men will play from the White tees or for those satisfying the Rule of 75, the Fazio or Green tee option is available. For those satisfying the Rule of 100, the Berkeley Hall tee option is available. Players may choose to move back to the Member, Blue or Black tee if they choose.
Ladies will play from the Burgundy tee or for those satisfying the Rule of 85, the Silver tee option is available. Players may choose to move back to the Berkeley Hall, Green or Fazio tee if they choose.
Players should notify the golf shop staff before Monday November 3 if they would like to play from a forward tee. Players must play the same tee for all tournament rounds.
Scorecards for each day will be provided prior to teeing off. The scorecards will be marked with the individual handicaps as they have been previously certified by the Pro Staff. All scorecards must be attested and turned in at the scoreboard immediately following your match. We will not be using Golf Genius live scoring. Both teams should confirm the match score on the scorecard before it is handed in.
We will be posting scores for each match as a nine hole score. Incomplete scorecards will be entered as the lowest gross score that would not impact the score of the match.
The Handicap Index as of the Closing Date, October 23rd, will be in use. All players will play at 90% handicap with a maximum of 30 strokes for Men and 36 for Women.
Strokes for each match will be taken off the lowest handicap in the group. 1/2 strokes will be used if applicable.
Handicap index differential between partners must not exceed 10.0 strokes (if higher than 10.0, the higher-handicapped player will be adjusted).

Tournament Prizes will be awarded in the following order:
Men’s Division
Flight Winners
Flight Runner Up
Ladies’ Division
Flight Winners
Flight Runner Up
*Prizes subject to change based on number of Participants*

Trophies will be awarded to Men’s & Ladies’ Shootout Champions

USGA Rules shall govern all play and the following Local Rules shall apply:
• Holes #10 & 14 (South) Waste Areas: Sandy areas to the right of #10 and #14 are not a penalty area and are to be played as the general area .
• On hole #4 (North) the margin of the red penalty area will be defined by the edge of the cart path nearest the penalty area. In addition to the option prescribed in rule 17.1, ball drops have been provided as an option if the player chooses. Please use the drop area that would be the closest to the spot the ball last crossed the margin of the penalty area no nearer the hole.
• On Hole #15 (North) In addition to the options prescribed in Rule 16.1 for relief from the cart path that runs through the fairway, drop zones have been provided as an additional option. Players must use the drop zone that is closest to where their ball lays and not nearer to the hole.
• Immovable Obstructions: In addition to rule 16.1, if a ball lies off the putting green but not in a penalty area and an immovable obstruction on or within two club lengths of the putting green and within two club lengths of the ball intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may take relief as follows:
The ball must be lifted and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay that (a) Is not nearer the hole, (b) avoids intervention and (c) is not in a penalty area or on a putting green. The ball may be cleaned when lifted.
• Newly sodded & sanded areas: Relief must be taken from all newly sodded or sanded areas. Please proceed under rule 16.1.
• Staked Trees: Protection of young trees is identified by stakes and rope. If such a tree interferes with a players stance or the area of his intended swing, the ball must be lifted, without penalty and dropped in accordance with the procedure prescribed in Rule 16.1a (Immovable Obstruction)
• Out Of Bounds: Defined by white stakes / posts.
• Yellow Penalty Area: Defined by yellow stakes / lines.
• Red Penalty Area: Defined by red stakes / lines.
• Doubt as to Procedure
In stroke play, if a competitor is doubtful of his rights or the correct procedure during the play of a hole, he may, without penalty, complete the hole with two balls. Rule 20.1c.
Any questions concerning the interpretation of USGA Rules or Local Rules should be directed to the Rules Committee Rules Committee:

See you next year…
If inclement weather causes a match to stop play, all further holes will be considered a tie, if the remaining holes cannot be played following a delay. The Professional Staff will determine if matches will return to the course to be completed or if we will move on to the next round.
Any matches that are not played due to inclement weather will be considered a tie.
The schedule will continue as planned, even if matches are not played due to inclement weather.
If the Championship Shootout cannot be completed due to inclement weather, all flight winners will compete in a chip off to determine the Champions.
If any of the flights do not have six teams, each round one pair play against par, with a marker. If a team drops out during the event, the teams that they had not played, will play against par during those rounds. Matches already completed will stand.
