Sir David Amess: Conservative MP stabbed to death

This morning, MP Sir David Amess was treated by emergency services after being attacked at a church in Leigh-on-Sea, as he was meeting constituents. He died at the scene A 25-year-old man is currently in police custody, and the Essex Police are being assisted by Scotland Yards agents and the MI5 to determine the reason behind the act.

The US has announced that it will reopen its borders to fully vaccinated travellers from 33 countries on 8 November. Vaccinated people, provided they have a negative test within the 72 hours before traveling, will be allowed entry into the United States. This will bring an end to the current rule that bars most non-US citizens who have been in the UK, China, India, South Africa, Iran, Brazil, and others within the last 14 days.

Sir David, 69, had been an MP since 1983 and was married with five children.

"Ranging in size from $1 million to $117,000, the grants will go to organizations that provide housing assistance, mentorship programs, trauma counseling, job training, and youth music programs."
