Germany to ban unvaccinated people from shops and bars

Supreme Court: Top US judges signal support for abortion limits

As concern over the new Omicron variant of COVID-19 increases, many countries have begun restricting travel and urging people to stay home. Germany has banned unvaccinated people from shops and bars unless they have recently recovered from a case of Covid. Chancellor Angela Merkel says that a nationwide vaccination mandate could potentially be imposed in Germany from February 2022. While there have been few cases of Omicron in the US, health officials say that the variant is becoming dominant in South Africa and driving a sharp increase in infections in under-vaccinated countries.

The Supreme Court was in deliberation on Wednesday hearing a case on a Mississippi abortion law, that might have an impact on abortion right in the United States. The case asks the Supreme Court to rule on whether or not Mississippi's ban on abortions after 15 weeks violates federal law and whether or not Roe v. Wade should be re-examined or overturned entirely. Lawyers defending the Mississippi law have asked the court to overturn both the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling, and 1992 Planned Parenthood v A ruling is not expected until June, but we will be following the story closely as new details become available.
