The federal eviction moratorium is set to expire Saturday, but President Joe Biden has called on Congress to extend it again. Here’s what you need to know The federal eviction moratorium that was put in place at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic is set to be lifted this weekend after months of additional extensions. But, President Biden is determined to extend the eviction protection for Americans, and has asked Congress to extend the moratorium. After a June Supreme Court ruling however, it was outlined that congressional authorizations will be needed for another extension, since the CDC is no longer the key decision-maker in extending the moratorium. In light of the Delta variant, however, Biden is hoping that Congress will agree to extend the moratorium.

Pennsylvania has no plans to require masking again, but will start texting those who missed second vaccine shot While Pennsylvania has no current plans to require statewide masking again, in light of the recent rise in COVID-19 cases, the state will be implementing a text messaging program to remind more than 250,000 people in the state to receive their second shot of the two-shot COVID vaccine. Acting Health Secretary Allison Beam has said that Pennsylvania officials are looking to other states to see whether they are mandating masks or vaccines for public employees — states that have done so include California and New York, which are requiring that public employees, teachers, and others working in care facilities be vaccinated.
