LIVING ON LIVING ON THE EDGE THE EDGE

We are pleased to introduce Stephan Harrington as Ocean Edge’s new Club Manager. Stephan has more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Stephan has a Bachelor of Science, Marketing degree from George Mason University and is an active member of the Club Managers Association of America. His first experience in the club business came in 2010, working as Assistant Food & Beverage Director at Pleasant Valley Golf Club in Chantilly, VA. Stephan had several successful assignments at a handful of clubs in Virginia over the next 5-6 years, including a stint at Royce Brook Golf Club in Hillsborough, NJ as Assistant General Manager.
In 2016, Regents’ Glen Country Club in York, PA hired Stephan as the club’s General Manager / Chief Operating Officer. Gaining valuable experience along the way. Stephan has extensive operational knowledge and, while he is not afraid to “get his hands dirty”; he understands the importance of shared goals and individual accountability throughout the organizational chart.
Stephan has a passion for serving people and is very appreciative and humbled at the opportunity to lead the team at Ocean Edge. He is committed to being involved and visible across all areas of the club's operation. Getting to know all of the club’s members is a high priority for him and something he looks forward to completing in his first full season ahead. Other priorities include a more consistent delivery of customer service levels expected and deserved by membership and greater attention to the details that make up the member experience daily.
Stephan is very excited about the prospects of a long-term assignment and making the Cape his home. Stephan’s wife Stephanie, his daughters Addison (12) and Torrance (10), and his son Owen (6) will make the move to Cape Cod after their school year ends. Please take a moment to welcome Stephan to the Ocean Edge family next time you are out at the club.
Sincerely,
Archie CartI wish you all a very healthy and blessed Easter Holiday weekend. Hopefully, you can enjoy some time with family at the Club this weekend. The Advisory Board encourages members to contact them with concerns and opportunities, as well as positive experiences. A list of the current members and their respective committees, as well as contact information, is on the Ocean Edge web site.
We are still looking for someone to fill an upcoming vacancy on the Board. It is a three year term. If you are interested in serving your Club as a member of the Advisory Board, the application is on the web site.
Three members will retire from the current Advisory Board on April 30th. On behalf of Marguerite Duesel, Jill Cosgrove, and myself, I would like to say that it has been our pleasure and privilege to serve the Ocean Edge members in this capacity.

Best Swing Shayne Sa Director oGetting the course woken up from a long winters nap starts weeks before a tee is set into the ground.A detailed clean-up of the entire golf course is the first major undertaking. We have focused on improving areas where years of debris have accumulated making for unplayable lies. One of the goals this off season was to clear out the underbrush and debris between the 5th hole and 11th hole and the same for the left side of the 10th hole with playability being the focus. Pictured below is the clean-up on the left side of the 10th hole. Years of leaf and pine needles were blown into piles and then removed.
After the course goes through the detail-oriented clean-up, we focus on our features. All bunkers are blown free of debris and groomed from the many animal prints that fill every bunker after a long winters nap. We add sand where needed and place bunker rakes in their locations for the season. We then double rolled all the greens. The rolling allows for use to smooth the putting green surfaces from winters frost heaving as well as firming up any rutting that may have occurred during our deep tine aeration we performed after the course closed in December. Once weather allows first cuts will be made on the playing surfaces. Once cuts are made this will stimulate
We look forward to a successful 2023 golf season ahead!
