MESSAGE FROM LEADERSHIP The Power of Generosity
Philanthropy has the power to revolutionize healthcare. Now more than ever, Baptist Health is positioned to be the preeminent provider in the region of outstanding, high-quality and compassionate care, thanks to The Power of Generosity.
Robert G. Berrin CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD BAPTIST HEALTH FOUNDATION

2022 represented a year of celebration and immense growth for Baptist Health Foundation, marking our most successful fundraising year — raising more than $66 million in support of our hospitals and institutes. With more than $17 million disbursed back to support the needs of our entities, philanthropy left a powerful mark across Baptist Health, elevating the patient experience (pg. 22), helping launch new clinical trials and laboratory research (pg. 24) and funding lifesaving medical equipment (pg. 30).
We had the distinct honor of celebrating Brian and Dr. Susan Keeley’s decades-long commitment to Baptist Health at our Grand Gala (pg. 12), which raised $6.7 million in support of patient services, research and clinical trials, education and training for healthcare staff, state-of-the-art technology and community outreach programs. We also celebrated the establishment of six endowed chairs (pg. 19), recognizing the significant accomplishment of our honored physicians, while providing a stable source of funding to advance their work through philanthropy.
With a generous $2 million gift from Best Meridian Insurance (BMI) supporting Baptist Health’s Digital Patient Smart TV and Engagement system (pg. 11), philanthropy will be at the forefront in helping create a revolution in patient care to meet the demands of the future. We continued our investment in the healing arts (pg. 16) at Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute, and, because of your support, more than 27,000 patients enjoyed and participated in the Arts in Medicine Program.
Alex Villoch CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER BAPTIST HEALTH FOUNDATION
Our successes, accomplishments and celebratory moments reflect your commitment, dedication and belief in Baptist Health. We cannot thank you enough for your support and for joining us on our journey to drive impact through philanthropy to make a meaningful difference in our community and beyond.
A special thank-you to Bob Berrin, our retiring Board chair. He has been an outstanding leader over the past three years — always ready to go the extra mile for the Foundation. Throughout his term, which coincided with the pandemic, he was a steady and resilient force for progress. His commitment to improving healthcare in our community, especially during a challenging time, has been inspiring, and we are very grateful for his service.
We are excited to welcome Lani Kahn Drody as our new chair in 2023.
