Education & Training
Educational resources and specialized trainings are powerful tools that enable Baptist Health clinicians to deliver the highest-quality care, improve patient outcomes and enhance their knowledge in the evolving medical field. Philanthropy is often the key to accessing unique trainings and educational opportunities and plays an essential role in equipping our clinicians with the most up-to-date practices and techniques to best serve our patients.
Bone marrow biopsies are frequently performed in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Thanks to philanthropic contributions, clinicians at Baptist Health Baptist Hospital and Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute can now receive ongoing training in performing biopsy procedures of the posterior spine and pelvic region with a Bonnie Bone Marrow Biopsy Skill Trainer™, a first-of-its-kind patient simulator.
In 2022, philanthropic funds made a meaningful difference for more than 80 nurses at Baptist Health Bethesda Hospital, Baptist Health Fishermen’s Community Hospital and Baptist Health West Kendall Baptist Hospital by allowing them to attend nursing conferences and bring back innovative practices, which are implemented throughout Baptist Health to provide top-of-the-line care for our patients.

Springboard Academy is a subscription-based online portal with two unique clinical learning pathways focusing on cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology. Philanthropy helped Baptist Health Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute secure 150 Springboard Academy online learning licenses for registered nurses and cardiovascular technologists. Through training modules, structured learning and reinforcement, staff will remain up-to-date with the latest technology and innovation, guidelines and evidence-based care.
