TOuRNAMENTS AND COMPETITIONS 2021 AYRSHIRE JuNIOR TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Due to COVID restricions, the Ayrshire Junior Team Champions was postponed from its usual April date unil Sunday the 13th of June at Troon Darley, when Royal Troon won the itle for the first ime, taking the Mat Lygate Trophy by virtue of the beter fourth score, ater a on 234 with Kilmarnock Barassie. The first Ayrshire strokeplay event to be held for almost 22 months, the championship atracted entries from eight member clubs and was played in very warm but tesing condiions. Royal Troon’s team of Euan Sirling (77), Noah O'Brien (78) Oliver Long (70) and Fraser Russell (79) edged out Kilmarnock Barassie by 13 shots on the crucial fourth score. The Irvine team of Kyle Reid (72), Lewis Trundle (73), Elliot O'Brien (76) and Daryn Surgenor (83) combined for a net team total of 221 to win the Andrew D. Nimmo Trophy. The Prestwick Circuits Trophy for best individual scratch score was won by Connor Wills of Prestwick St Nicholas with a four over par total of 75, whilst the Carrick Trophy for the best net score of the day was won by Euan Sirling of Royal Troon with a net score of 66. Noah O'Brien (Royal Troon) won the voucher for the best 10+ handicap category with a net 67, whilst the best net voucher for the 0 - 9 handicap category was won by Leo Wright (Kilmarnock Barassie) with a net 72.
