Paul Moultrie (Royal Troon) was joint runner up in the Scoish Senior Men’s Open Strokeplay at Duff House Royal in June, and the following month ied fourth in the Briish Seniors Championship at Ganton, and during the season represented Scotland at senior level as a member of both the Home Internaionals team at Woodhall Spa in August and the European Senior Men’s team Championship in Slovakia in early September. GC in May, with a one under par score of 71. In junior golf, Rachel Foster (Prestwick St. Nicholas) was a member of the Scotland Girls’ Home Internaionals team at Woodhall Spa in August. Seven member clubs contested the 2021 Ayrshire Junior Golf League Championship, with the two qualifying secions being won by Troon Welbeck and Irvine. In the final, played at Irvine on the 5th of September, Troon Welbeck faced the difficult task of beaing their opponents on their home course, but in the event it was the Troon club that edged out their hosts in the later stages to record a 4-2 victory in the match, and their first league itle since 2013. Troon Welbeck won the Wallace Thornton Trophy, again beaing the host club Irvine in the final, by 3-1 in the match, held at the Bogside course in mid October, whilst Irvine retained the Under 16 Knockout Trophy with a 3.5-0.5 victory over Prestwick St. Nicholas in the final, played at Irvine in late September. The Champion of Champions trophy was won by former Ayrshire Boys’ Champion Kerr Brooks (Louodun), who beat Cameron Shanks (Caprington by 4&3 in the final, also played at Irvine, in early October.
