Por el contrario, Pagani mantiene la interpretación tradicional de los cuatro reinos y rechaza algunas ideas de Lacunza como la identificación de Babilonia con la Roma católica, la explicación de la bestia de dos cuernos (Apocalipsis 13) y la restauración de los sacrificios israelitas (ROSMINI SERBATI, Antonio. Epistolario completo di A. Rosmini Serbati. 13 vols. Casal Monferrato: Giovanni Pane, 18871894).

113. Sin proponérselo, Irving, a pesar de sus reservas en cuanto al futurismo de Lacunza, contribuyó a formar las bases del futurismo protestante a través de la traducción de The coming of Messiah.

Samuel Roffey Maitland fue uno de los primeros que hizo prevalecer el ejemplo de Lacunza para justificar el abandono de la interpretación tradicional de los cuatro reinos.

Continuaron también por este camino James Henthorn Todd, William De Burgh (1800-1866) y Henry Browne.
