Who is ready for FALL?!? • Fall begins Wednesday, September 23rd! • Daylight savings time ends October 31st! •WNC Fair- The Mountain State Fair will be at the WNC Agricultural Center 9/11/15. •Who likes Apple Pickin’?!? - A few of the best orchards to check out in our area are: Sky Top Orchard, Stepp’s Hillcrest Orchard and Granddad’s Apple’s n’ Such! Labor Day Our office will be closed Monday, September 7th, 2015 in observance of the Holiday. Don’t have any Labor Day weekend plans? Check out the Apple Festival on Main Street in Downtown Hendersonville! Pool Season What a great summer we’ve had! Thank you to everyone who came out for our end of the summer pool party! We enjoyed celebrating with you all! We will continue to keep the pool open through the month of September. As of October 1, the pool will be closed but the grilling pavilion will remain open! Property Painting As you have noticed the painters are on property and have started painting building 1! We are so excited about this property enhancement! The plan is to start with building 1 and work their way around the property in numerical order. We will send notification in advance to each building when it is time to start painting that building. The painters will paint the exteriors and breezeways of the buildings first before completing the patios. Once they are ready to paint the patios, we will again notify you so that items on your patio can be moved. Thank you for your cooperation! Prizes will be given to the best adult and child costumes! Recipe of the Month: Caramel Apple Pie Cookies! INGREDIENTS • 1 package Refrigerated Pie Crust (2 crusts) • 5 oz Caramel Topping • 10 oz Apple Pie Filling • 1 Egg • 1 tsp Cinnamon • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg • 1/4 cup Sugar DIRECTIONS 1. Preheat the oven to 350. 2. Spray cookie sheet with non stick spray and set aside. 3. Allow crusts to warm slightly to make them easier to work with. 4. Dust work area with flour and slightly roll out crusts. 5. Spread a thin layer of caramel on one of the crusts. 6. Use a knife to chop pie filling into smaller pieces and spread over top of caramel. 7. Cut other crust into 1/2″ strips. 8. Use strips to create a lattice top over pie covered crust. 9. Cut out circles and transfer to prepared baking sheet. 10.Beat egg in bowl until well blended. 11.Mix together sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. 12.Brush lattice tops with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar mixture. 13.Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
