DIVERSITY = EXCELLENCE
Focusing on diversity isn’t just the right thing to do. It’s good for our business. Diversity of gender, race, nationality, creed, sexuality and anything else means you’re better representing what the world looks like within the communities that we operate and serve. Inside of our venues diversity will contribute to a wealth of ideas and input that may not have been discovered yet. Diversity has the potential to elevate at every level.
ARE YOU A CULTURE KEEPER?
It’s incredibly important for venue leadership to encourage our team members to bring their whole selves to work and celebrate them for all that they are. Promoting and highlighting DEI efforts helps team members feel safe, respected and more connected, which can lead to a stronger sense of community and increased productivity. This drives happier, more engaged humans, which is paramount right now.
Focusing on diversity isn’t just the right thing to do. It’s good for our business.

DIVERSITY IN RECRUITING
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (CONT)
DIVERSITY IN RECRUITING
Diversity in the workplace is the idea that our teams should reflect the general makeup of the society around us, our local communities. Our Team Members should consist of a variety of different types of people, with different skillsets, genders, ethnicities, backgrounds, and experiences. Diversity can fall into two categories: inherent diversity, such as demographic factors or acquired diversity, which are developed or earned over time. Think of inherent diversity as being tied to race, gender, age, health and any other characteristic that is natural to who someone is as a person. Acquired diversity refers to things like education, experience, values, skills, and knowledge, which are more fluid and can develop and evolve over time. ASM Global is committed to ensuring we have representation within all levels.
PLAN TO CONTINUE INCREASING DIVERSITY WITHIN YOUR SOURCING - A FEW HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS:
• Review/Audit Job Descriptions (Make changes that speak to a broad group of people)
• Encourage Referrals (It’s very likely that our team members with have networks of people with similar backgrounds)
• Get creative with where you source applicants from (Don’t rely on the same sources over and over again)
GROW WITH ASM GLOBAL
Our College and University Student Learning Program is another great tool that we can use to recruit. Our new program - GROW with ASM Global gives us the opportunity to provide impactful and meaningful experiences to college students and connects to our defined purpose through ASM Global Acts. Utilization of GROW with ASM Global is a great way to build talent benches for our venues. Upon a student’s graduation, successful program completion can lead to full time job offers. Please reach out to our recruiting team (recruiting@asmglobal.com) for any support, guidance, or resources to enhance your student career experience.

Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 – What You Need to Know
In the U.S. at the end of December, the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 (HR 2617) commonly called “Secure Act 2.0” was signed into law. This act made sweeping changes to employer sponsored 401(K) plans to encourage employee retirement savings. The Act will mandate all US employers who sponsor 401(K) enhance their plans, below are some of the key provisions:
• Employers must automatically enroll participants, with automatic annual deferral increases
• ASM Global has already added these features
• Enables 401K plans to consider including student loan payments and emergency savings account options
• Increases catch-up contribution limits, and requires certain highly paid employees participate in ROTH (after tax) contributions, enables ROTH options for all participants
• Permits older workers to stay invested longer delaying required minimum distributions to age 73 rising to age 75 by 2033
• Simplifies fee & investment disclosures
Plan recordkeepers such as Fidelity Investments are still interpreting the over 90 provisions the Act changed for 401(K) plans, many of which will happen over the next decade. It will take some time for plans to catch-up with all of these changes, HR should expect updates on Secure Act 2.0 in the months and years ahead.

Workday Supervisory Organizations and Data Validation
In the U.S., as communicated in our past Workday HCM webinars held on 8/11/2022 and 1/12/23 two key areas of concern for HR to focus on with our deployment of Workday HCM are:
• Supervisory Organizations; the reporting relationship between an employee and their departmental leader
• Data Validation; the accuracy of data within the Workday HCM system
In the weeks to come Corporate HR will be stepping up activity around these two focus areas to help HRBP’s:
• Put their Supervisory Organizations in order:
• It will be critical to the future release of employee self-service that individual employees report to their correct departmental manager for approval of time off and the manger’s view of their direct reports
• Clean up omitted or erroneous data:
• It will be critical to HR when we cut over from ADP that all active employees in ADP are hired into Workday or those employee records will be lost when ADP is shut down
• It will be critical to the future deployment of Workday Payroll that employees have the correct compensation attributes:
• Union vs. Non-union
• Salaried vs. Hourly
• P/T vs. F/T
• Exempt vs. Non-Exempt

Working Together Toward Shared Goals
ASM Global recently announced bold and data-driven goals relative to our commitments to the environment, our people and the communities in which we operate. Beginning this year, we will dedicate our resources to achieving results throughout our business and entire venue portfolio to make the world and our local communities a better place to live, work and play. View our Goals.
Two important resources available to our venues to assist in meeting these targets, include:
1. WeTrack: a technology platform designed to capture, measure and report on our sustainability and corporate responsibility data.
2. Honeycomb Strategies: the leading consultant in sustainability for the hospitality, sports and event industries, offering innovative approaches and sustainable solutions for our venues. We will be onboarding venues across our global portfolio throughout 2023, and are excited to expand our ASM Global Acts programming to reflect our scale and create substantial collective impact. For additional information, contact Jennifer Byers.
Green Sports Alliance
An important part of ASM Global Acts is our commitment to environmental sustainability, and we’re proud to become members of Green Sports Alliance. As the largest and most influential driver of environmental and social responsibility across the sports industry, the Green Sports Alliance will be an important resource as we measure and advance our sustainability and social impact efforts. If you’re interested in learning more about our membership and the offerings available through Green Sports Alliance, please contact Jennifer Byers.

Antel Arena excedes business goals in 2022
Thanks to the work of all Team Members, Antel Arena exceeded the results established in the 2022 Business Plan for the client, Antel.
Not less important is the fact that it was achieved by maintaining excellent performance indicators in terms of service and building maintenance. This was possible thanks to an aligned and committed team, which throughout the year worked on optimizing the resources under its responsibility.
Different initiatives were also applied, with the goal to improve the employee experience, designed both at a corporate level such as ASM Academy and Month of Giving, and at a local level, enriching the benefits proposal.
2023 is a challenging year, with the expectation of a contract renewal. Working with a strong and aligned team, we are confident of achieving our goals.

Reconciliation action plans take flight across Australia
One of the most interesting and exciting projects ever to be undertaken across our Australian venues is the establishment of Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs). Where ICC Sydney and RAC Arena, Perth have had the RAPS in place for some time, all other venues are following suit, with Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre the first cab off the rank.
What is reconciliation, in the Australian context? We are glad you asked.
Reconciliation is all about a shared understanding of Australia’s history and nurturing relationships between First Nations Peoples and non-indigenous people.
There are five pillars that underpin the journey to reconciliation. They are:
• Unity
• Institutional integrity
• Equality and equity
• Race relations
• Historical acceptance
Reconciliation Action Plans are the vehicle by which businesses are able to articulate their commitment to reconciliation, engage with their local First Nations communities and work toward tangible and

measurable objectives that support the broader societal effort toward reconciliation and healing.
In an absolute landmark appointment, ASM Global (APAC) has recently announced that Cameron Costello has joined the team as our First Nations Ambassador. Cameron will support venues to develop and deliver their Reconciliation Action Plans, our cultural competency training and guide other important activities that support the objectives of our RAPs.
We are incredibly proud to be undertaking this work across our Australian venues and look forward to sharing news from this project in coming editions of this newsletter.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY ACROSS APAC.
Embracing equity throughout the workplace was the key theme across ASM Global (APAC) on March 8.
We would like to thank everyone for their efforts in showing appreciation and enthusiasm for International Women’s Day (IWD) 2023, it was wonderful to see waves of purple flow through our workplaces!
IWD was acknowledged in a variety of ways across our Region. So many wonderful celebrations, initiatives and activities. Our team in Dubai celebrated this year with the theme DigitALL through team building activities that focus on women’s resilience, collaboration and team work to overcome obstacles. The team at Kai Tak Sports Park, Hong Kong put a creative spin to Embrace Equity, as you can see from their group image.
What a wonderful effort from all of the teams that joined in celebrating International Women’s Day 2023 as we embraced equity.

Recognizing The Shining Stars of ASM Global (APAC)
ASM Global (APAC) is committed to recognizing our people, with several venues launching or relaunching their venue specific reward and recognition programs. At Darwin Convention Centre they’ve had a great response to their “Shout Out” program and at ICC Sydney, their “Extraordinaires” celebration was staged to great acclaim. Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai is the most recent venue to launch their employee reward and recognition program in March. The feedback from team members has been very positive and it’s great to see venues recognizing our extraordinary people delivering extraordinary experience and creating wonderful memories.
One thing is for sure, at ASM Global, we have fantastic venues, but it’s our people that really bring them to life and make the magic happen.
“DID YOU KNOW THAT RECOGNITION IS ONE OF THE BEST WAYS TO IMPROVE EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT AND PRODUCTIVITY?”

UNITED KINGDOM
What are the ASMies I hear you say? Let me tell you more……
On the evening of Thursday 30th March 2023, the European ASM Global Team launched their inaugural employee awards ceremony, The ASMies.
The ASMies is an employee engagement initiative designed to recognise employees that go above and beyond in the fulfilment of their roles across a variety of award categories. This may have been a one-off act that an employee or team has achieved, or a consistent effort displayed across the year.
We invited 132 guests from all our venues across the UK, Germany and Sweden in addition to our corporate team which comprised of runners up, winners and wider members of the team.
All venues were asked to provide nominations for our pre-defined awards categories. Across a two-week window, we received an overwhelming number of nominations which were then submitted to our selection panel to determine the runners up and winners of each award.
The team organised a fantastic event in just 6 weeks and was hosted at the first direct arena, Leeds. With a dress code of glamorous, our guests dressed to impress and were welcomed with a champagne reception followed by a three-course dinner and a live band for dancing once the awards ceremony had concluded. Bacon butties were even provided towards the end of the night!
Whilst we recognised that this type of event would be received positively across the business, I don’t think any of us could have anticipated just how profound an impact this would have. Not only on the evening but also after the event itself. Everyone’s hearts were full and the emails of thanks and general buzz that has continued in the venues since, has been overwhelming.
The benchmark has now been set and the work now turns to next year’s ceremony. We’re already confident that our teams will be raring to go with their nominations and waiting in anticipation to see if they have been invited to the exclusive event that is the ASMies!
ASMs Stockholm Live Achieves Best-inClass Employee Engagement through Weekly Anonymous Pulse Surveys
The ASM team at Stockholm Live in Sweden is working to ensure continuous employee engagement and foster a strong company culture using real-time weekly anonymous pulse surveys. These weekly surveys are sent to all employees and have an impressive response rate of 85-90%, taking less than eight seconds to complete. To achieve this, the team is utilizing the “Winningtemp” platform, which provides valuable insight into workforce information, team performance, and talent retention through visualization of employee engagement in nine different categories that are research based. This platform also equips managers with communication tools, constructive feedback mechanisms, and resources for developing team potential, as explained by Per Noreen, Director HR & Sustainability at Stockholm Live. The platform’s real-time temperature

measurement enables the company to proactively manage issues affecting well-being and demonstrate to executives the impact of HR work. Additionally, the ASM team can see the effect of measures taken to improve engagement, such as developing team leadership, implementing new ways of working, and providing training and workshops. To maintain anonymity, survey results are not broken down on groups less than four people. Our team managers frequently discuss the survey results in their team meetings, as small problems can be identified and addressed before they become bigger issues. In conclusion, the HR team at Stockholm Live believes that employee engagement is all about being seen, acknowledged, and respected, which can make a significant difference in achieving common goals and feeling empowered.
Tickets and Attendance - Staff incentive program big hit in Canada
In the fall we began a staff incentive program for our part timers, to help with attendance, and retention. We purchased season tickets to both of our tenants (hockey & basketball), as well as used comp tickets for different events/concerts. When staff came to work they were given a ballot to fill out, there was 1 winner per night. The winner received 2 tickets to the event, plus a $20 voucher to spend on food & beverage. This program was VERY well received by staff, we worked with their managers to ensure they had the evening off work to attend.
