We intend to use this communication as a forum to celebrate our wins as well as to share timely information, best practices, and ensure that we are creating great spaces for our team members to do amazing work. This news brief is a celebration of you, our venues all over the world, and the work being done every day.

This year, we are proud to bring ASM Global Voices to ALL team members!

A NOTE FROM SHAUNA

Summer 2024 is well underway in the U.S. While the weather surrounding you may be different around the globe, I hope that everyone is spending time with friends and family, creating memories filled with laugher and fun each day.

As we sit today, with more than half of this year already behind us we have the opportunity to also create amazing experiences for every guest who walks through the doors of our venues for concerts and events daily, weekly, and monthly. Ensuring that every individual receives an experience that is unique to them. Boldy showing how we set the bar on providing memory making adventures that we showcase through the spirit of live. Thank you for the work that you are doing to continually maintain our standard and ensure that ASM Global venues are the best venues.

As exciting as our live events are, I’m excited to share a few cool updates for initiatives happening within our four walls. Kicking off with the educational scholarships that were awarded to students through our very own ASM Global Acts Foundation. Scholarship applications closed this past March. From there we engaged in the process of student selection. For this year, we have doubled the number of scholarships awarded, from 50 in 2023 to 100 this year. We are delighted to be able to positively impact education journeys, but more than that we are proud to be able to support students in underrepresented communities as they work to reach their goals.

Of the 100 scholarship awards, over 90% of our scholarships were awarded to ethnically diverse students. These students have already received their awards and are reaching out with energy and excitement inquiring about career experiences (internships) working with your teams in our venues.

Speaking of GROW… (we love a good segway) our goal this year is to host 150 university students. This program focusing on providing an entry way into ASM Global and building our talent bench is another way that we are giving back and impacting our local communities. Focused on representation and our commitment to offering career experiences to ethnically diverse students. This global program continues to offer real work experience in our venues and collaboration with all team members as these students learn the ASM Global way, while becoming ambassadors for our brand.

Another piece of our workforce development prioritizes our internal team members in the food and beverage space. In SAVOR venues, we are offering F&B Apprenticeship opportunities. In this self-paced program, team members have the chance to operate and educate themselves in two different learning paths in partnership with venue leadership.

All initiatives mentioned above are a part of our continued focus on development. Participating in one part of the trifecta, or all 3 contribute to your venue and enhance your career experience within ASM Global. While I have mentioned a few key programs, we have a lot of incredible things happening in our venues all over the world.

Let’s continue to celebrate our wins, take on new challenges, and own each day.

TURNING SPARE CHANGE INTO REAL CHANGE

ASM Global Acts Foundation is excited to announce the launch of the “Round-Up for Charity” program, an initiative to engage with your customers and give back to your local community.

The Round-Up for Charity program enables your customers to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar, with the extra funds going directly to support local charitable organizations chosen by the venue. This simple yet powerful initiative demonstrates our commitment to corporate social responsibility, engages customers in the philanthropic efforts of the business and makes a positive difference right in your backyard.

In its first month since launching the initiative, our pilot program at the Long Beach Convention Center has raised more than $1,533.59 proving that every

penny contributed collectively makes a significant impact. They have dedicated these funds to support the AIDS Food Store, an organization founded in Long Beach and that has been serving impoverished HIV/AIDS members of their community since 1985.

If you are interested in learning more and implementing this initiative at your location, please connect with Mara Hermano, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility, at mhermano@asmglobal. com.

CANADA

MERIDIAN CENTRE & CANADA GAMES PARK ANNOUNCE THE PROMOTION OF BILL OBEE, TO THE ROLE OF OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR AT CANADA GAMES PARK.

We are pleased to announce the promotion of Bill Obee, to the role of Operations Supervisor at Canada Games Park. Bill has been a dedicated member of our local ASM team for almost 10 years, serving as a Guest Services Supervisor at Meridian Centre. His hard work, dedication, and positive attitude have earned him this well-deserved opportunity for growth within our company.

What makes Bill’s promotion even more impressive is that he accomplished this all while overcoming a physical challenge. Bill has been able to excel in his role despite only having one arm. His determination and resilience have been an inspiration to all of us, and we are proud to have him as a part of our team. Not only has Bill been a valuable member of our guest services team, but he has also taken the initiative to learn new skills and expand his knowledge within our organization. One such skill that caught our attention was his ability to drive a Zamboni, the ice resurfacing machine used in our ice rink.

With his promotion to Operations Supervisor at Canada Games Park, Bill will now be overseeing the daily operations of our facility. We have no doubt that he will excel in this role, using his exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure smooth operations for our organization. Bill’s promotion is a testament to his hard work, determination, and dedication to his job. He has shown that with the right attitude and a drive to learn, there are no limits to what one can achieve. We are proud to have Bill on our team and look forward to seeing him continue to grow and thrive in his new role as Operations Supervisor. Please join us in congratulating Bill on his well-deserved promotion!

AVENIR CENTRE TEAM MEMBERS PARTICIPATED IN THE CITY OF MONCTON NEWCOMER JOB FAIR.

On May 8, 2024, Human Resources, and a few of the Avenir Centre team members participated in the City of Moncton Newcomer Job Fair. This is one of our areas largest job fair events. There were approximately 45 local businesses present and the event welcomed over 2000 individuals from across the world, all of them searching for a career.

With the help of Sarah Terry (Marketing & Events/Guest Service Manager), Justin Berry (F&B Manager), Trevor Rowe (Chef) and our guest services team members, we had the pleasure of speaking with hundreds of interested applicants. This was a great opportunity to promote our events centre and to find extraordinary people to fill some of our open positions.

Attending these types of events is such a fun and positive experience. We encourage all venue teams to participate in as many job fairs as possible as it demonstrates our presence in the community, promotes our brand and most importantly, we have an opportunity to hire our next rising star.

LATIN AMERICA

¡CELEBREMOS BUENOS TIEMPOS!

Feliz cumpleaños a ti, feliz cumpleaños a ti...

CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES!

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you… We excitedly celebrated the birthdays of the team members who were born during this quarter with a special lunch which was held in a Club in our arena. The celebration was the perfect time to share with them the newly food menu launched in April, getting great feedback and giving the opportunity to show and expose new parts of our business to our teams members, who love to learn and be involved on it.

Ticket Donation Program

Introducing, our Ticket Donation Program. Newly rolled out, this program is inspired by the activity and engagement completed in our last Global Month of Giving. The program objective is to allow people who cannot afford the price of an event ticket (such as schools or other Non-Governmental Organizations) to be able to experience all of our events. This program is for our community – We want to share the spirit of live events. Our first three concerts are happening in June and July, featuring two national artists: Matias Valdez (June 21st) which will receive 10 teenagers from the “Centro El Desafío” and Marama (July 12th) which will receive 14 teenagers form “Caif Sembrando Caminos”. Our team is super proud to work in a Company with such type of activities.

ALL ABOUT THE ASMies! THE UK

last year, we hosted our second event at P&J Live, Aberdeen on 21st March 2024’

Believe it or not, we had a tough decision on our hands in deciding where to host this year’s event. We were astounded by the excitement of all our European venues to put themselves forward and “pitch” for our recognition awards ceremony. For us, this was the icing on the cake in terms of the meaningful impression the ASMies has left with our employees and why employee engagement initiatives such as these are worth their weight in gold.

In the end, P&J Live presented a pitch we simply couldn’t resist and whilst we weren’t sure if we could raise the bar from last year’s ASMies in Leeds, the P&J Live team brought their celtic magic and helped us to create the most wonderful evening.

For those of you that haven’t heard of the ASMies, the event is all about recognising our very own rockstars! This year we increased the number of award categories, using the same eleven categories as last year and adding three new awards. Winners and runners up of each category are decided by our team members via a peer nomination process which opened in December and closed in January. All nominations required a detailed narrative explaining why the nominee was a deserving contender. An election panel then came together to assess the nominees and decide on winners and runners-up.

The winners of the special category awards; Venue of the Year, Superstar of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Award are selected and presented on the evening by Chris Bray, President Europe.

“It was a truly magical night and one that is still being talked about today!”

The event hosts 130 team members across the business, comprising of winners, runnersup and individuals that have been recognised by their General Managers as having gone above and beyond in their roles during the course of the previous year. The night provided everybody the opportunity to put their gladrags on for an evening of great food, glamour, Scottish vibes and dancing. We even had some of our gents dusting off their kilts in true Scottish tradition.

This year’s entertainment paid homage to Scotland and got everybody involved in some traditional Ceilidh dancing (feel free to research some videos online). It’s actually more difficult than you would think but very enjoyable! We also had a 360 camera with a whole suite of props allowing everyone to embrace their inner James Bond and Movie Star!

It was a truly magical night and one that is still being talked about today!

Who will get the golden ticket to next year’s event? Who will be the venue battling to host next years ASMies? All will be revealed next year……

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK IN THE UK

It’s been a busy couple of months since launching our Mental Health First Aiders and Wellbeing Community and what better way of putting these initiatives into practice than with Mental Health Awareness Week taking place on 13th – 19th May and Men’s Health Week on 10th – 17th June.

The UK venues have all come together to participate in a range of different activities. Some of them coordinated centrally for all venues to participate in and others coordinated locally, using their surroundings to their advantage and get into the spirit of Movement, which was this year’s theme for Mental Health Awareness Week. Our teams participated in Wellbeing Walks, Scavenger Hunts, Strictly Come Dancing Desk Exercises, Bake Sales and much more!

We also used this as a fantastic opportunity to invite some of our benefit suppliers to host webinars around how their benefits are designed to support employee health and wellbeing. We invited our EAP provider to explain how the service can support team members with access to free counselling in addition to advice on personal relationships, workplace relationships, financial wellbeing etc. We also invited our health cash plan provider to help inform team members about their opportunity to save money on optical, dental and chiropody treatments, wellness treatments such as acupuncture or Indian hot stone head massages and gym memberships.

It was quickly recognised that we could integrate some fundraising activities as part of Mental Health Awareness Week in line with our ASM Global Acts commitments. To do this, the venues participated in a national Wear It Green Day on Thursday 16th May which encouraged participants to make a voluntary donation. We also performed Sweet Stakes where team members had to guess the secret flavour of a cake, Quizzes and a Companywide raffle using available inventory across our venues as prizes! Collectively, we managed to raise £962.09 which supported a combination of local charities and the Mental Health Foundation. Well done to everyone who took part!

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK (CONT)

Whilst we had a lot of fun during Mental Health Awareness Week, the overriding factor was to do so with the subject of mental and physical health and wellbeing in mind. Sometimes doing fun activities is a great way of encouraging communication, forging relationships with people you may otherwise not usually engage with and creating a safe space for people to open up about their physical and/or mental wellbeing challenges and seek the help and support they need.

We complemented these activities by signposting team members to excellent resources and courses that are available on ASM Global Academy in addition to guidance documents and video links on meditation and gratitude.

The wellbeing community are now hard at work with the upcoming Men’s Health Week. The theme this year is all about prostate awareness so we’re rallying round to provide our male colleagues with opportunities to attend coffee forums which will become a regular activity within the business, designed to create a safe space for men to come together and talk. These forums are not intended to force vulnerable or sensitive conversations; it’s about creating a community that over time, will hopefully make it easier for men to reach out for support as and when they need it. We’re also looking to provide guidance documents relating to the importance of performing regular prostate health checks.

“Collectively, we managed to raise £962.09 which supported a combination of local charities and the Mental Health Foundation.”

ASM GLOBAL’S STOCKHOLM LIVE LAUNCHED A F&B LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

Gathering around a fireplace, swapping stories from the hunt, and prepping the food for the community is really a key piece of human history. And even though they still feed the community, but with less need of fire these days, it was a welcome change of scenery for our F&B leadership to gather around the fire to feedback and collaborate during a leadership conference.

During 2024, our F&B team has doubled in size as we have welcomed the Tele2 and Friends Arena (to be called Strawberry Arena in July) F&B teams to ASM Globals Stockholm Live. The key to successfully combining teams lies in fostering a sense of community and shared purpose; Encouraging open dialogue, building trust, and to create opportunities for team members to bond and share their ‘stories’ – and it starts with the managers.

Together we tackled topics together of how to continue the transformation of our F&B business and how to create a sustainable change management for the rest of the year to reach our end goal of a cross-venue F&B organization.

Two highlights from the day were definitely the wild boar tacos, cooked by Michael Yngvesson, General Manager & Operations Director Nordics and his dog, Nisse – the perfect workshop companion.

The Leadership Program will continue with more sessions during the autumn involving a Senior Leadership Coach with strong F&B background.

APAC

ASM GLOBAL ACTS: KUALA LUMPUR CONVENTION CENTRE IS MALAYSIA’S

Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC)

is the first Malaysian venue to receive a ‘Healthy Venue’ certification from the Healthy Venues organisation. The centre has achieved the Healthy Venue’s Bronze Level accreditation.

The recognition is only granted to venues that integrate wellness into events by prioritising healthier eating, movement, and workplace health and reinforces the Centre’s ongoing efforts to improve the overall delegate experience and increase meeting productivity by providing a conducive event environment that promotes health and well-being.

Commenting on this achievement, John Burke, the Centre’s General Manager, stated that, “Reflecting our commitment to present the right environment for learning, business or leisure, this new milestone further strengthens our position as a world-class venue and industry leader on par with global standards. Research has shown that healthy meeting environments can improve delegate productivity and leave them with positive experiences and memories of the events they attend. This accreditation will not only enhance the confidence of event organisers in our venue but will also help them attract more delegates to their events here.”

ASM GLOBAL ACTS: INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST HOMOPHOBIA, TRANSPHOBIA AND BIPHOBIA AT INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CENTRE SYDNEY

The team at International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) acknowledged the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDABOHIT) on May 17.

IDABOHIT is a global campaign aimed at raising awareness about the ongoing discrimination, violence, and marginalisation faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and intersex people, and all of those with diverse sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expressions, and sex characteristics. The campaign seeks to celebrate diversity and advocate for the rights of LGBTQIA+ people, this year’s theme “No one left behind: equality, freedom and justice for all”.

IDAHOBIT is one of many days of significance ICC Sydney’s LGBTQIA+ network The Same Same Collective (TSSC) includes in its annual calendar of events. This calendar of events forms part of TSSC’s strategy to acknowledge, educate, support, and celebrate all things LGBTQIA+. Recognising these days are an important part of ICC Sydney’s annual Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI) submission. Currently at bronze tier status, we are striving for Silver or Gold this year against our equality benchmark developed by Pride in Diversity (PID).

ASM GLOBAL ACTS: RUN FOR AUTISM FROM EXHIBITION

Organised together with Alia Centre for Early Intervention on Saturday, 27th April 2024, the “Run for Autism” event aimed to raise awareness about autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and support individuals and families affected by autism within the local community.

Spanning over 105,000 square metres of total indoor space, the sporting event at EWB has been set to be a memorable and impactful occasion, bringing together participants of all ages and abilities for a day of unity, inclusion and advocacy. The event featured a variety of activations including timed runs, family-friendly walks, entertainment, and educational resources about autism.

In addition to the races, a storyteller event took place where individuals shared their personal experiences and stories related to autism, which helped promote understanding about autism spectrum disorder.

By hosting this event for the second consecutive time, EWB aims to foster a supportive community environment, support a meaningful cause, and make a positive social impact as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals to be an active and positive contributor to the local community.
