A GLOBAL ART EXHIBITION REFLECT. EMPOWER.

PRIDE MONTH IS A CELEBRATION AND REFLECTION FOR THE LGBTQIA+ COMMUNITY. RAINBOW FLAGS ACROSS THE GLOBE

SERVE AS A SYMBOL OF UNITY, RESILIENCE, AND HOPE.

The origins of PRIDE Month can be traced back to the Stonewall riots of 1969, a pivotal event that marked the beginning of the modern LGBTQIA+ rights movement. Every year, during the month of June we honor the core tenants of Pride: People, Resilience, Information, Diversity, and Expression.

ASM Global celebrates PRIDE and supports our LGBTQIA+ team members and allies. We continue to stand for equality and free expression for everyone.

This year, in partnership with team members around the world we invited everyone to join in our Global Pride Exhibition. This collaborative effort or MASH (Modern Art Shapes History) UP is a unique and creative take where our team members have shared what Pride means to them through various creative expressions.

‘Vulnerability is what connects us all, the more open you are; the more you will spark and inspire others to rise from their depths of their own darkness. By doing so you’ll inevitably give them the permission to be themselves authentically, and take up space. How can you shine your light, and inspire those around you today?’

-JOSELYN TRAN
TO ME, PRIDE MONTH IS A TIME TO REMEMBER WHAT THOSE IN THE STONEWALL RIOTS FOUGHT FOR, AND WHAT SO MANY OF US CONTINUE TO FIGHT FOR.

Equality and love. Life, healing, sunlight, nature, harmony, and spirit. That is what the six colors of the rainbow flag represent. Flags are sociopolitical symbols of community membership, unity, and visibility. Over the years, the Pride flag has evolved to promote greater inclusion and recognize the many communities that celebrate Pride.

PHOTOS AND WORDS

SINCE 1970, PRIDE HAS BEEN A SYMBOL OF UNITY FOR THE

LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY AND ALLIES, WHICH HAS GROWN OVER THE YEARS TO INCLUDE PARADES, FESTIVALS, DRAG PERFORMANCES, LIVE MUSIC, FOOD,

AND MUCH MORE.

Pride also reminds us of our iconic figures who have paved the way to continue the work toward a better future; together, we can continue to make a difference and create a more inclusive community for all.

“PRIDE MEANS EMBRACING AND SUPPORTING OUR DIFFERENCES BEYOND GENDER, RACE, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, AND RELIGION.

It is about recognizing and celebrating the unique identities and experiences that make each of us who we are. At its core, PRIDE is a reminder that our hearts beat the same, and this shared humanity is what unites us. By looking beyond surface-level distinctions, we affirm that every individual deserves respect, love, and acceptance. PRIDE calls us to love wholeheartedly and unconditionally, fostering a world where everyone can live authentically , freely and in doing so we are embracing diversity and practicing empathy. We stand united in efforts to contribute to a more inclusive and compassionate society, where the essence of our humanity is honored and cherished.” Our team has embarked on a shared initiative to support our local LGBT+ members. We are launching a community project aimed at providing small tokens and reminders to show that they are surrounded by individuals, groups, and companies who stand beside them. These “tiny pocket hugs” are intended to be constant reminders of support and solidarity. We hope they will help foster a positive mental health environment for those grappling with their identity amidst societal ignorance and hatred. Through this project, we want to affirm that they are not alone, and that they are valued and loved just as they are.”

“Esencia y olvido” “Essence and oblivion”

Persecuted, rejected, rebellious, extravagant, criticized, singled out and an amazing hairstyle. An eloquent misfit, a tainted record, weird, artist, good people, noble, Christian and loved. Another record of dangerousness for being on the other side, I was born to be different and prefer strawberry as ice cream. Exile can be the death of some or other adjectives, but in the sea where I sail my forgetfulness has no current.

To have Pride is to unravel the painful points that once sealed my lips. It is to open the way to words that, like cypress roots, were entangled in my throat. Pride exorcises my fears and creates a space for me. It is the key that, when found, has served to open the atrium of all my lost joys. It is the desired exile, a passage without a return, that leads to a better world. It is to have the freedom to write to the one I love without having to disguise genres. Pride is a date of birth.

A note from Allegiant Stadium,

Pride embodies our unwavering commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Pride is a testament of our belief in creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, safe, seen, and empowered to be their authentic selves. Through continuous education, support, and engagement, we strive to foster an environment of acceptance and belonging, ensuring that the spirit of Pride is alive in our company every day of the year.

Pride is not just parades or drag or rainbows and butterflies

It’s a time rejoice progress but also a time to rise –

To the occasion

To help the next generation

Provide the right education

Affirming and protective legislation Policies against discrimination

This month is a reminder to start the conversation Make a donation

Join in on the celebration –

To show equality, respect, and appreciation

No more isolation

Only love and liberation

My poem was inspired by the influx of harmful homophobic and transphobic legislation that some states have pushed through over the past few years. Pride is a protest for the members of the LGBTQIA+ community to fight for our basic human rights. We cannot truly celebrate Pride until there is more education and protections for our community and especially for the vulnerable, our LBGTQIA+ youth.

At Huntington Place, Pride means safety, inclusion, and celebration. All are welcome, all are seen, and all are protected!

This picture represents a colorful life (flag) coming out of a gray existence (gray building). No need for our community to be in a gray gay closet living as second class citizens anymore. There is a place for us in today’s society, and like the flag, we can express our colorful and vibrant contribution to the world!

Pride is celebration, achievement, legality, inclusion for all! It is a beautiful space for “self-discovery and affirmation” thru music, events, parades, expression, and happiness!

“ ”

TO US, PRIDE MEANS EMBRACING INCLUSIVITY AND CREATING A WELCOMING, SAFE SPACE FOR EVERYONE TO ENJOY THE BEST ENTERTAINMENT NIAGARA HAS TO OFFER. WE TAKE PRIDE IN UPHOLDING THESE VALUES AND ENSURING A VIBRANT, SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY FOR ALL.

Every year Pride Niagara begins Pride Month with their Pride Niagara Kickoff party at Meridian Centre. These are just a few of our favorite pictures!

Pride to me is about acceptance and awareness. Each person has their own story to tell. If everyone was a little more aware and accepting of both the people around them and themselves, empathy and love would truly prevail.

“ Cut From the Same Stars” “

The moon doesn’t judge the sun for golden rays shared between planets. Nor does the sun pick lines between the beauty of Mars’ sand and Earth’s Ocean. There is passion between the satellites. Each star flutters in fervent, making space dusted avidity for our grass-stained knees and open field kisses. Take me as I take you, blessed by the moon and let the stars hear our love. Leave shame for mortal bodies, and wear dignity between our lips. For it’s the Glorious beyond the sky that remind us love is love is love is love.

Pride to me means more than celebrating who I am. It means being seen beyond who I am, it means freedom in our bodies, and most importantly, it means acceptance in our differences and acknowledging love is love.

BUTTONS

These button badges were made to be worn on the lapels of jackets, offering a sense of reassurance to onlookers who may feel a little lost at sea. It serves as a reminder that there is so much hurt in this world, and that any love found, is something to nurture.

The photo is of myself and my niece Willow Harris. She was around 1 (now 4 years old) when this photo was taken. She LOVES the rainbow crossing in Taylor Square – Sydney so we had a photo together. From this photo, the artwork was created. Shows me in Drag (Queen Robbie) holding Willow, full of colour & life, rainbow crossing in the back, and it was a gift for my Birthday from Willow. So fabulous!

Long Beach Pride.

AT ASM GLOBAL/LONG BEACH, WE ARE PROUD TO HOST ONE OF THE LARGEST PRIDE FESTIVALS IN THE WORLD.

At ASM Global/Long Beach, we are proud to host one of the largest Pride festivals in the world. Long Beach Pride unites our community, offering an environment that entertains, educates, and inspires. For over 40 years, this annual event has symbolized visibility, equality, and acceptance, drawing more than 80,000 attendees each year. During Pride, our team celebrates our differences as one unified community. This year, we had a special treat: announcing our official Broadway Series, highlighting the upcoming musical “The Cher Show” to the Welcome Pride Party!

My artwork shows the pride flag colours, Trans pride included. We are all strong. We are resilient. We know our true allies.

Every June, we see a whole bunch of businesses, companies, celebrities, and leaders make a point of saying that it is Pride month and they support the LGBTQI+ community. Then they go silent for 11 months. Don’t you think we, the LGBTQI+ community need more than this token gesture?

The word TOKEN is slapped on in gaff tape to show the effort made every year when June comes around. The Easy fix. The saying the right thing. It’s 2024. Do better.

El orgullo puede ser utilizado en muchas situaciones y expresiones, pero creo que sentirse orgulloso de lo que somos y sentimos es la mejor de ellas.

Pride can be used in a many situations and expressions, but I think being proud of who we are, and feel is the best of them.
