In terms of materials, wood, metal mesh, mosaic, white tiles, cement tiles and the colours that punctuate the spaces highlight the elements they welcome, in contrast to their raw charac ters. They delineate living spaces that are both distinct and intertwined. Between simplicity and sophistication, this care fully thought out composition invites us to share and to have a cosy moment. The engaging at mosphere is enhanced by the light that filters large bay windows.

With its 249 rooms and 946 beds, the MEININGER Paris Porte de Vincennes hôtel, with the interior being designed by the agency Axel Schoenert Architectes, is becoming a landmark establishment of the German hotel chain.

The MEININGER concept is unique, halfway between an international hotel and a youth hos tel. It is part of the new wave of new hotel concepts, based primarily on location, pricequality ratio and user-friendliness. The range of accommodation extends from traditional double rooms to ones that can accommodate for up to 6 beds. For the interior design, the Axel Schoenert Architectes agency took inspiration from the French Capital. From “Paris Bohème” all the way to the iconic gardens of the city, the Parisian codes that adorn the city is reflected in the general design, using a variety of highly articulated surfaces, different ornaments and patterns, contrasting colours and appropriate combinations of materials, which play a surprise and discovery effect for the visitor

In relation to the different needs of the urban traveller, the design of the spaces makes it possible to separate the night and day areas. The breakfast area with the green retreat, the sunny and yellow buffet area as well as the lounge area, enjoy significant direct light and are mainly used throughout the day.

The furniture of the MEININGER Paris Porte de Vincennes was designed by the agency and made to measure. It is elegant and of quality to create a welcoming and warm atmosphere.

In contrast, the bar and bistro spaces are desig ned with dark and elegant elements, to create a more intimate and nocturnal atmosphere. On the ceiling, the electrical networks and ventila tion ducts are left visible; they structure the perspectives, while highlighting the comfort of the furniture and the refinement of the lumi naires. The acoustic panels and the floor refer ring to the parquet floors of the Haussmann apartments punctuate the multiple zones and allow to differentiate them.

A playground, located on the ground floor, and an underground parking lot of 78 parking spaces complete the set.

Located next to Berthelot Avenue in the 7th district of Lyon, the interior concept pays homage to the light and the Lumière brothers, the Lyons inventors of cinematography, through many bright installations.

If all establishments are presented with an identical structure, each has its own style.

Occupying an area of 5,360 m2 spread over 7 floors, the MEININGER Hotel Lyon Centre Berthelot has 169 rooms (590 beds in total), some of which have up to 8 dormitory beds. Its facilities include a reception open 24/7, a large lobby, a breakfast room, an outdoor terrace, a bar and a kitchen available to guests.

The establishment offers all the services that make the group’s reputation today.

Axel Schoenert founded the FrancoGerman agency Axel Schoenert architects with Zsofia Varnagy, interior architect, in 1999 in Paris. With a multicultural team, she develops her activities in France and internationally, in the fields of architecture, interior architecture and design. His priority is to promote an eclectic vision of his work, to emphasize the diversity of projects and to develop expertise in new construction as well as complex renovations. Axel Schoenert is recognized and rewarded for his achievements in hotels, offices with emblematic performances and design but also for his coworking projects. Decidedly detached from a specific style, effects and trends, each project is studied as a new page to write. The starting point of this work is the place itself, its history, its culture. This anchorage will define the heart of the project, where interior architecture and design are brought together in the same way as architecture and live in perfect Withharmony.itsprojects, the agency found itself at the centre of urban renewal. Among the most recent are the complex renovation of SHIFT 54 rue de Londres (winner of the 2018 SIMI Grand Prize and finalist of the 2019 MIPIM Awards), the Belvedere project with SPACES in La Défense, UFO which hosts the future Leboncoin headquarters in the heart of the trail, a wooden structure building on rue Bayard, but also 5 Wework in Paris, including the largest in Europe (20,000 m 2) located on avenue de France. With its expertise in hotel programs, the Axel Schœnert architects agency recently delivered the first hotel in France, the German brand 25 Hours in front of the Gare du Nord, in Paris as well as the first two hotels of the MEININGER group in France. It also signs the concept and interior architecture of the future 4* Pleyel Tower hotel, which will open its doors in 2023. MAÎTRISE D’OEUVRE
