News, News, News, News, News, News... Auckley Diamond Jubilee is a newly formed fund raising group and we are raising funds to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee Anniversary in 2012. We are organising various events over the next 18 months to raise funds so that Auckley can celebrate the occasion. One of our fund raisers is a monthly Alpha draw, which is drawn on the 28th of every month. The three winning letters for Octobers draw are e r i the letters can be in any order on your ticket, the prize money was £80 and there were NO WINNERS, therefore the prize money will rollover to November's draw and a minimum of £160 prize money. FAB Parishes Glitter Days On Saturday 11th December both Auckley and Finningley churches will be holding a children‘s Glitter Day where children will have the opportunity of creating Christmas related crafts and decorations. This is now becoming a regular Christmas favourite at St Saviours and has been on the calendar at Finningley for many a year. There are limited spaces at each event so please book early by contacting Marlene Spencer [tel:770978] for the Auckley session which will be held between 10am and 12.30pm in Auckley Parish Centre and Karen Robinson [tel :770607] for the Finningley event, which will be held between 2pm and 4.30pm in Finningley church.

Church Panto If you have seen our last two pantos then you won't want to miss this one and if you havn't seen one yet then keep this date free. We will be performing this year‘s panto called 'The Wild West - a Parable Panto' in Finningley Church on Sunday 12th December and will again be putting on two performances these being a matinee at 2.30pm and evening performance at 6pm. Tickets are on sale now priced £2.50 to include light refreshments and are available in person from Karen or give her a ring on 770607 to book in for this festive treat.

Finningley Village Tuesday Club Tuesday the 23rd of November saw the final meeting for 2010 as the group, along with ―The Friendship Group‖ which meets the second Monday of each month, are off to enjoy the delights of Harewood House Christmas Display and Craft Fayre. This year we have enjoyed a very interesting and informative talk from The Ambulance Service First Responders Representative, a personal perspective on the feelings and experiences of being evacuated by Mrs. Jean Richards and a very much appreciated and eye opening view of school and family life from retired headmaster Mr. Norman Britton. Our 2011 programme will commence on January 25th, with Mr Hugh Parkin who will give an illustrated talk about ―The History of the Doncaster Plant Works‖ while February 15th will see us once again gathering for a repeat of our very enjoyable Lunch and Afternoon Dance. From all in the Tuesday Group, a somewhat early but warmly meant Happy Christmas and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year.

Alzheimer‟s Society Lunch Club opening on 5th January, 12—3pm at Cantley Community Centre, Goodison Boulevard. A social event, giving support and information to people with memory loss/dementia and their carers—A free lunch is provided. For more details contact 01709 580543.
