Romeo and Juliet – Passionate love, serious violence and heartbreaking tragedy .

Crowle Entertainers’ summer production this year is a modern take on Shakespeare’s classic love story – Romeo and Juliet.

Performances will take place at Crowle Community Hall on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th June at 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £5, are on sale at Crowle Regen shop, by calling 07966 315733 and are also available online at https:// timeforashow.com/crowle-entertainers or on the door.

Romance and violence both take their part in this tale, set on a council estate where knife crime and gang warfare play out against a backdrop of poverty and food banks. The story follows the fortunes of the two star-crossed lovers, who find love and ultimately, tragedy, amidst the ongoing family feuds between the Capulets and the Montagues on the estate. Self-made man Capulet wants to rule the roost and improve his social prospects by marrying off his daughter Juliet to the well-connected Paris, but once Juliet meets Romeo, (a Montague) she has other ideas. Edited and directed by Gill Vickers, with a current and edgy soundscape and a vibrant urban setting, this is Shakespeare as you’ve never seen it before. Whether you’re a Shakespeare fan or are new to the works of the Bard, this is a production which you can’t afford to miss!
