My learnings From the Main Graduation Project This project was the first big project of my life that I did as a service. Being a design student, often there comes a gap between what we wish to create and what the clients want from us. This project was successfully able to bridge the gap. I am thoroughly happy with my first attempt at working on a real website. This project helped me learn the following things as a designer: 1. Being an artsy student, I learnt how to cater my skills to other people. This was an achievement as I did not know how to coordinate with non- designer human beings and still create decent designs. 2. This project taught me how to improve constantly and take harsh criticism as feedback. The feedbacks are usually not straight to the point and oblivious when coming from a clients perspective. I learnt how to comprehend a long story of a client and turn it into an acceptable design. 3. This project played a crucial role in fixing my design bugs and made me more functional as a designer. Mostly we as designers forget the function as we get carried away by aesthetics. This project helped me to use my creativity in a righteous proportion.
4. I learnt how to work with the business team, marketing team, developers, while I single handedly handled the project. As an output when I look back, Quantitatively I just created a brand guideline and two versions of a website for the product. But with a qualitative perspective I can easily feel how much I grew throughout the process. Hence process brings learning, not output. 5. To myself and other designers: we should always take feedback constructively and never forget to raise questions and prove our points as designers. It is important to place yourself in the clients shoes and see how he is looking at the service.
