BRINGING JOY AND GROWTH TO OUR COMMUNITY!

Our Day Programs and Vacation Care are all about creating a supportive space where participants can thrive, learn, and enjoy new experiences every day. These new programs, thanks to our dedicated staff have become cherished parts of our community, helping everyone involved grow and connect in ways that are both fun and empowering. Recently, we celebrated our spirit of inclusivity with a delightful Pyjama Day – an event that brought so much laughter and joy to participants and staff alike!

On Pyjama Day, everyone arrived in their cosiest attire, ready to relax, have a laugh, and enjoy some time to simply be themselves. We shared a day full of activities, including dancing to favourite tunes, fun games, and even a mini photo shoot to capture these light-hearted moments. It’s days like these that remind us of the value of community and the joy that comes from celebrating one another.

Our Day Program and Vacation Care go beyond just daily activities – they’re about fostering a sense of independence, building lifelong friendships, and supporting individual growth. Each program is carefully crafted with a mix of creative workshops, recreational games, hands-on learning experiences, and community outings that keep participants engaged and inspired. We’re here to support each person’s unique goals, whether they’re learning new skills, gaining confidence, or simply enjoying a safe and welcoming environment.

Thanks to our creative staff, we have launched new and exciting programs and initiatives across our Day Programs and Vacation Care, setting us apart and putting our participants’ learning, growth, and happiness at the heart of all we do. Our team has infused each program with innovative ideas and engaging activities that captivate the imagination and curiosity of everyone involved. From themed weeks that explore diverse cultures to interactive science experiments and arts workshops, every element is designed to be both educational and enjoyable. These initiatives not only expand our participants’ horizons but also ensure that each day is as unique and vibrant as our community. By fostering creativity and curiosity, we empower participants to embrace new challenges, celebrate their achievements, and build a strong foundation for personal growth in a fun, supportive setting. As we look forward to many more memorable days, we’re excited to welcome new participants into our vibrant, inclusive, and nurturing community. There’s always something new and meaningful waiting to be discovered!

IMPORTANT SECURITY UPDATE FOR EMPLOYMENT HERO!

Ensuring the security of our systems and the sensitive information we handle is of utmost importance. Employment Hero has significantly improved our HR processes and payroll management with its platform. To maintain the highest standards of security, Employment Hero is introducing a crucial update.

Mandatory Two-Factor Authentication is coming!

Starting October 23, 2024, Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) will be required to access and modify sensitive information within Employment Hero. This additional layer of protection ensures that our accounts remain secure.

What is Two-Factor Authentication?

Two-Factor Authentication is a security process that adds an additional layer of security to your Employment Hero account. You will be asked to provide two different authentication factors to verify your identity. 2FA will become mandatory for changing sensitive information like account security, banking, superannuation, and tax declarations. Enabling 2FA significantly reduces the risk of unauthorised access to your account, strengthening our security.

How Will This Affect You?

Beginning on October 23, 2024, all employees will be prompted to set up 2FA. Initially, 2FA will be optional for logging in, offering a grace period to get accustomed to the process and activate it at your convenience. Eventually, it will become mandatory for all users.

What to Do?

To ensure a seamless login from now, we encourage you to set up 2FA on your account. Easily set up 2FA in these simple steps:

• Login to your Employment Hero account

• Click the user drop-down in the upper right-hand corner

• Select Account Settings from the menu

• Click ‘Setup’ under 2-Factor Authentication and follow the prompts to finalise

Stay safe and secure, Team! Let’s continue making a difference together.

NOVEMBER 2024

NOVEMBER 11: REMEMBRANCE DAY

Remembrance Day is observed on 11th November each year, marking the anniversary of the armistice that ended World War I in 1918. In Australia, it is a day to honour and remember all the men and women who have served and sacrificed their lives in military conflicts.

NOVEMBER 13: WORLD KINDNESS DAY

World Kindness Day is celebrated annually on 13th November. This day promotes kindness as a fundamental human value and encourages individuals, communities, and organisations to engage in acts of kindness towards one another.

It’s a great opportunity to reflect on how small acts of kindness can make a significant impact on people’s lives and foster a sense of community.

NOVEMBER 20 – 26: ASSISTANCE DOGS AWARENESS WEEK

Assistance Dogs Awareness Week is observed from 20th to 26th November each year. This week aims to raise awareness about the vital role that assistance dogs play in the lives of people living with a disability.
