Currently the Boathouse is abuzz with excitement for the upcoming 1886 Regatta taking place on October 13th The races will commence at noon, and we look forward to welcoming (back!) many athletes who competed this summer at the Paris Olympics.
As we look ahead to November, November 9th will be the last day for Club boat rentals Weather permitting, kayaks will remain available for use until the water temps reach 50 degrees.
If you have a boat on the docks, please reach out to the Boathouse or your winter storage facility to make arrangements for the winter All member boats are required to be off the docks on or before November 9th.

The Racquets program at Tuxedo in 2024 has been one of the busiest seasons on record
The Racquets Committee was excited to welcome Max Trueman as the full-time Racquets Assistant Professional in May of this year and the reviews to date have been fantastic!
The Board of Governors approved the construction of (2) Padel Courts which were an instant hit with the membership. The word most frequently used to describe the experience of playing is FUN! The location of the courts proved to be a magnet for social interaction amongst the membership as well
Lawn tennis saw the season kick off with the Mixed MemberGuest in June; expertly organized by Jeff Greenbaum The courts saw a great deal of use amongst the membership for casual play, as well for Friday night mixers, lessons, clinics and junior camps
Racquets Academy was so popular for the (6) original weeks that (2) more weeks were added in August
By Tim Chisholm, Director of Racquets

Fall is upon us and the leaves are starting to change. Cool temperatures have paid major dividends to the golf course as we wrap up a long summer You’ll find the upcoming course aeration schedule below Keep in mind that this schedule is weather-dependent and subject to change Dry weather is paramount to ensure proper cleanup while we aerify and spread topdressing sand to get our playing surfaces playable as quickly as possible
Core aeration will begin to take place during the week of October 21st or the week of October 28th We will do our best to complete as much as we can during Monday course closures, but aeration may need to be moved to other days of the week if there is inclement weather. Sand topdressing will also be applied to these areas and they will be rolled
Core aeration is a contracted service that is scheduled for Wednesday, October 30th and Thursday, October 31st Proper cleanup typically takes two days Some holes may need to be closed during this process Fairways will not be sand top-dressed
The putting greens will be aerified with 5/8” hollow coring tines on Monday, November 4th and Tuesday, November 5th Detailed cleanup will take two days to complete Some holes may be closed during this time. The putting greens will be sand top dressed, brushed, blown and rolled Please keep in mind, aeration holes on the putting greens are not likely to heal completely this fall and may be visible in the spring of 2025

It is hard to believe that summer has come and gone One of the highlights of our season, the Men’s & Women’s Club Championships, wrapped up a successful summer with some exciting matches from our finalists
In the Men’s Club Championship, we were guaranteed a first-time Men’s Club Champion when Joseph Furlong IV and young Jack Beard met in the men ’ s 36-hole Labor Day Final Joseph returned to the Finals for the second time – having last done so in 2017 when he was 16 years old and the same age as Jack! Joseph went on to win ‘8 & 6’ to secure his first Club Championship title
In the Women’s Club Championship, Allison Kucinski returned to action to face-off against Defending Champion Kellie Baldwin in the Finals Baldwin was ‘2 Up’ through 6 holes, but Kucinski won seven of the next eight holes on her way to a ‘5 & 4’ victory to claim her eighth Women’s Club Championship title.
Congratulations to our champions
Please join me in also congratulating the winners of our coveted “silver” tournaments (since July’s edition) including:
Maureen Cook who won both the Medalist & Eleanor Madronal trophies awarded to the individual low gross and net scores, respectively, after 36 holes played over two days Only four other players in the Club’s history have held both trophies at the same time
Avinash Rawoot who defeated the golf course handily in the individual match play versus par (net) format of the Ramapo Valley Cup and earned his first silver tournament victory since joining the Club in 2022.
Doreen Rose & Karen Cariddi who won individual low net in their respective divisions of the Senior & Super Senior Championships
A pair of first-time winners - Ron & Mary Fuerst - who hoisted the Benziger Cup (known as the Husband & Wife Championship) by firing a gross score of 80 and would have won both gross and net divisions had the rules allowed it. Tim & Jill Johnson who won the net division for the first time
In the final women ’ s “silver” event of the season, the Flaming Foliage, Nathalie Maio who prevailed in a three-way sudden victory playoff over Karen Banyo & Peggy Horney – who all scored 34 Stableford points
Ray Carli & Barry Chung who won the final men ’ s memberguest of the season, the Vogel Cup, by the narrowest of margins –0 1 strokes! – over Runners-Up Chris & Rich Schutz
Looking back on a few charitable endeavors that have become closely knit into the fabric of our golfing community, we want to THANK YOU for your generosity in support of the following:
The Folds of Honor Pro-Am fielded 30 five-person teams –including a military service man or woman, a PGA Professional, and three members or guests – to benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing scholarships to the dependents of fallen or disabled soldiers.
The Caddie-Member Tournament in support of the Wayne Lyski Memorial Scholarship and Metropolitan Golf Association (MGA) Caddie Scholarship Fund. The Wayne Lyski Memorial Fund was established in 2022 and we are proud to announce that the scholarship was awarded for the first during the event to one of our own Matthew Dudek
The MGA Caddie Scholarship Fund Marathon partly supporting the Jay Mottola Scholarship Fund Jay Mottola and caddie extraordinaire Saul Jimenez formed “Team Tuxedo” and played 100 holes to raise a record amount – over $23K – in support of the Fund.
Thank you for your continued support of the golf program at Tuxedo and I encourage you to contact me or any member of the professional staff if we can be of any assistance throughout the remainder of the season
