A MESSAGE FROM THE CLUBHOUSE

As we find ourselves in the heart of summer, there’s no doubt that this season at the Club has been full of energy. While the early days brought a few challenges including a soggy start with frequent rain showers on the weekends the skies have since cleared, giving way to the sunshine that defines summer at its best

One of the highlights of the season so far, aside from the always popular Annual Independence Day Fireworks Show, was our Country Western Father’s Day at the Pool, where members gathered to celebrate dad in true Texas style. The afternoon featured country tunes, poolside games, and a buffet that earned rave reviews. From house-made hot links to tender smoked Wagyu beef and a variety of southern-inspired sides & specialty cocktails, it was a feast worthy of the occasion

Shortly after, the Club came alive once again with our Summer Champagne Tasting, which proved to be a huge success The Main Clubhouse was buzzing with energy as members sampled sparkling wines including Bollinger, Pol Roger, Laurent Perrier, Deutz & Veuve Clicquot The evening saw an incredible turnout, capped off by a full house at Lakeside for dinner.

A MESSAGE FROM THE CLUBHOUSE CONT’D

The Club has been buzzing with energy from our youngest members as well! From splashing in the pool to unleashing their inner chefs at our popular Make Your Own Pizza Night, the kids have truly made the most of every sunny day The poolside pizza event was a standout, with little hands tossing dough, choosing favorite toppings, and proudly enjoying their delicious creations. Game Day brought out the spirit of friendly competition, with lawn games, team challenges, and laughter (especially during the watermelon eating contest!) It’s been a joy to see the Club come alive with youthful excitement, making this summer one to remember Don't miss out on the upcoming Outdoor Movie Night at the Main Clubhouse Sunday, August 31st!

With warm days, special events, and more opportunities to relax, connect, and celebrate still ahead, we ’ re excited for all that’s to come

A big thank you for helping us make this summer so special we look forward to seeing you soon

GREETINGS FROM THE BOATHOUSE

Well, it certainly has been a hot July - and we don’t just mean the temperature! The Boathouse has solidified itself as a hot spot at the Club and has been buzzing with activity all summer long.

This year we are seeing more rentals on the Lake going out at full capacity We are even seeing boats tie up together in the middle of the Lake to enjoy a day or evening together It is a blessing to watch the Club community come together on the water

Fishing has remained strong. From dozens of kids on the docks pulling in sunnies to guided fishing tours with Jack, the fish are biting, and members are delighting in their catches.

The fire pit area has been popular on weekend evenings A friendly reminder that we have S’mores kits available every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening and we welcome you to join us by the fire

Looking to unwind? Well, we have that too A relaxing ride around the lake on the Duffy or a kayak is sure to bring peace to your busy life.

If you haven’t stopped by the Boathouse in a while, be sure to take a moment to stop by We’d love to see you soon

TUXEDO FLORALS

You may have noticed some subtle yet bright changes to the floral scape at the Club this year. From bright green lush foliage at the Golf Glubhouse to new tropical flowers in a multitude of pots, to a new variety of Coleus in the troughs of the Pool pavilion, it’s been such a pleasure to bring beauty to the Club for everyone to enjoy.

One of my personal favorites this year are the pots surrounding the waterfall near the Pool These pots are a testament to the beauty of simplicity Featuring only three colors and two different plants, they make a bold statement with their stunning color contrast and exceptional growth In these pots you see red mandevillas on a throne of purple and yellow petunias (above)

Also at the Pool you can spot some medium-sized pots featuring a fun new floral to the Club - canna lilies. Standing tall and leafy with their beautiful bright flowers ranging from light yellow to Tuscan red, these flowers are accented with cascading ipomeas and dark purple scaevola (right). The bright dreamy orange petunias and bright orange and yellow marigold seen in some pots were introduced at Tuxedo last season

The beautiful lion head pots (right) have made a comeback to Tuxedo this year! These pots can be viewed at the entrance of the Main Clubhouse They feature white mandevillas that are surrounded by the bountiful ipomoea vine and a soft summery orange petunia The hydrangeas growing alongside the Clubhouse lend a sense of quiet grandeur to the graceful display.

While the Main Clubhouse back terrace beds display a vibrant array of colorful fun flowers that evoke a sense of carefree liveliness, the urns (left) located in the same area are a stark contrast, featuring only black and white flowers amongst the green foliage. I chose to create a black and white floral design here to represent Tuxedo, from the black and white tuxedo itself to black tie events, weddings and all other formals that are often located here on the back terrace With the Lake in the backdrop, these urns are the perfect addition to any event The urns themselves are an elegant shape and are wellsuited for these mysterious black velvet petunias and dainty white calibrachoa framing the mandevilla in center The flowers are finished off with a neat and tidy dark leaf vine that drapes beautifully over the edge, accentuating the form of the urn

The Argentina Pop-Up Dinner was a huge success, and members were able to enjoy Argentine wines, as well as traditional Argentine asado, empanadas and so much more Expect at least one more pop-up night in August Keep an eye on the Club e-mails in the coming weeks

As we move through the heart of the season, we look forward to keeping the momentum going and creating even more memorable moments together.

We hope to see you at the Golf Clubhouse soon

After spending much of last year on the injured reserve, Paul Sandars bounced back to win the Hay Cup (18-Hole Individual Stroke Play for Members 55 years of age and older) by a narrow one-stroke margin with a score of 68 Net.

In the first Ladies’ 18-Hole silver event of the season, Karen Banyo successfully defended and claimed her fourth Laurie Zellweger victory (2012, 2021, 2024, & 2025) with 29 stableford points!

Most recently, Howard Mertz defeated the golf course handily in the individual match play versus par (net) format of the Ramapo Valley Cup and finally captured his most elusive silver tournament trophy

GOLF UPDATE CONT‘D

Lastly, thanks to generous donations from the Wayne Lyski Memorial Golf Outing on September 27, 2021, the Metropolitan Golf Association (MGA) Caddie Scholarship Fund is pleased to continue to support the Wayne Lyski Memorial Scholarship as an Endowed Scholarship for the fund Wayne Lyski passed in the fall of 2020 Beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, and friend, Lyski had a passion for golf and education The Wayne Lyski Memorial Fund was established in 2022. Awards can be given to any Caddie Scholarship Fund scholar with demonstrated need, with preference given to those from Tuxedo During the recent Caddie-Member Tournament, we were proud to award the scholarship for the second time for the 2025-26 academic year to one of our own….Nicholas Bonanno. Originally from Suffern, New York, and a graduate of Suffern High School, Nick is in his fourth season at Tuxedo After he completed his freshman year at Ramapo College, he transferred to the University of Wisconsin where he will major in Finance.
