2025 GOLF CALENDAR

GOLF UPDATE

The putting greens opened on March 29 and the recent warmer weather has contributed to favorable golf course conditions following Spring aeration – which included core aeration of tees, fairways, and approaches and DryJect green aeration in late April th

For the first time, we officially kicked off the golf season in style with a lively Opening Cocktail Party, welcoming members back for another exciting season Held at the Golf House, members enjoyed an evening of socializing, reconnecting with fellow golfers, and meeting new members The next morning, the Men’s Opening Day ABCDE Mixer fielded near-record participation as 119 golfers joined forces in fivesomes to compete in the fun-loving scramble format

Congratulations to the team of John Hughes, Chris Dollbaum, Mark Cariddi, Mike Conlon, & Paul Valetutti, Sr. that won by a three-stroke margin with a score of 63 (-8)

Just one week later in the Member-Member, new member Calvin Hwang was uplifted by his own sponsor Ashish Malik to start his member tenure undefeated. Malik carried the team with an impressive seven net birdies and a birdie (net eagle) en route to a score of 61 (-10) in the net better ball of partners event for the narrow one-stroke victory

Hope to see you on the golf course!

COURSE UPDATE GOLF

Greetings from the busy Grounds Maintenance Department where April and May have seemed to go by in the blink of an eye!

On the course soil temperatures have come up significantly in the last few weeks, which has proven beneficial to healing our playing surfaces from core aeration and our putting greens from DryJect sand injection. Every spring has its challenges and 2025 is no exception Since May 1 , our property has received 7 inches of rain which is a far cry from the 52 days without rain during the fall of 2024 The combination of elevated soil temperatures and precipitation has caused a growth flush throughout the property Although this weather pattern has been great for the health of the primary rough, mowing and spraying other playing surfaces has been challenging Mowing wet closely mowed turf can cause mechanical damage if mowings are not timed correctly. In some cases, our fairways may not be mowed for a few days until they are dry enough to cut. When things do dry out, we catch back up on the mowing The same is true with our chemical and fertilizer applications Timing is critical for these applications to keep our turf healthy and protected from diseases and pests. Special thanks go out to the Grounds staff for working around the rain, working late and getting the job done st

Overall, the golf course is in excellent condition as we head into Memorial Day weekend and we embark on a summer filled with outings, member events, and the opportunity to host the Metropolitan Golf Association’s Westchester Open Championship June 9 and 10 Our countdown is winding down and our department is excited for another great chance to showcase our golf course th th
