What an amazing summer it’s been, filled with sailing and rowing across the Lake, fishing for big bass and trout, s ’ mores by the fire, sunnies off the dock, and swapping fish stories that just keep getting bigger (!) and better
Now, fall is here - the perfect time to enjoy a scenic trip around the Lake to take in the magnificent foliage As the leaves gently fall, houses begin to peek through the treetops, revealing the beauty of Tuxedo Park in a whole new way. The last day for Club boat rentals will be November 9.
Fall is also one of the best times of year to catch both bass and trout Our Fall Fishing Derby has seen a lot of entries, with the current leader being Joseph Furlong with a 4 lb 10 oz smallmouth bass Remember that entries are due by October 19
As you make your fall Lake plans don’t forget about our Snackle Boxes which have been a huge hit this season! They're packed with delicious treats - perfect for enjoying on the water with family and friends Pick one up at the Boathouse before you head out to make your fall Lake adventure even more memorable Click here to view the Snackle Box menu and to order
We hope to see you at our 1886 Regatta this weekend and at the Boathouse all fall long Please note that the Boathouse will close for the season on November 21

It is hard to believe that summer has come and gone. One of the highlights of our season, the Men’s & Women’s Club Championships, wrapped up a successful summer with some exciting matches from our Finalists
In the Men’s Club Championship, Defending Champion Joseph Furlong IV fought back from early deficits in the opening round against Keith Kucinski, and in the Semi-Finals against seven-time Champion Dan Rifkin to return to the Men’s 36-Hole Labor Day Final for the third time On the opposite side of the match play bracket, Tyler Cline was pitted against his cousin, and three-time Champion, Cole Meitner in the Semi-Finals and prevailed ‘3 & 2’ to return to the Final Tyler Cline went on to win ‘8 & 6’ against Joseph to secure his third Club Championship title.
In the Women’s Club Championship, Allison Kucinski returned to action to face-off against first-time Finalist Maureen Cook in the finals Tied through three holes, Kucinski would win the next eight holes on her way to an ‘8 & 7’ victory to claim her ninth Women’s Club Ch
In addition to our Club Champions, I’d like to congratulate the winners of our coveted “silver” tournaments including:
Maureen Cook won both the Medalist & Eleanor Madronal trophies awarded to the individual low gross and net scores, respectively, after 36 holes played over two days Only four other players in the Club’s history have held both trophies at the same time and, impressively, Cook now joins only one other champion to have done so in consecutive years!
Doreen Rose & Karen Banyo won individual low net in their respective divisions of the Senior & Super Senior Championships.
In the final women ’ s “silver” event of the season, the Flaming Foliage, Sarah Phillips conceded victory to Joette Fullerton after tying atop the leaderboard with 38 stableford points
Brian Huff & guest Don Stanzione won the final men ’ s member-guest of the season, the Vogel Cup, by more than two strokes over the next eligible competitor
Two couples hoisted the Benziger Cup – known as the Husband & Wife Championship – for the first time in many years Tim & Maureen Cook fired a gross score of 74 and would have won both gross and net divisions had the rules allowed it James & Jane DePiero won the net division for the third time – having last one 19 years ago!
Our Men’s and Women’s season-long match play tournaments all found closure earlier than usual:
In the Robert Trent Jones Senior Championships, Kirk Kashevaroff & Scott Fife found themselves impressively in the finals of both the RTJ Senior and the Champions’ Divisions They decided to play one match to determine the winner of both divisions In a match that came down to the closing hole, Kirk Kashevaroff prevailed to claim his seventh Senior Championship and fifth in a row; and avenged last year ’ s defeat at the hands of Scott Fife to claim his first Champions’ Division title in just his second year of eligibility
In the Sichol Cup, Jake Lindsay defeated Defending Champion Jack Horney ‘5 & 3’ to win his second title (2023 & 2025)
In the Governors’ Cup, Gregg & Alex Butler earned their first Governors’ Cup win after many years of moderate success when they defeated Runners-Up Andrey Kosovych & Ted Wang by a ‘1 Up’ margin in the finals In the Armageddon Tournament, last year ’ s Runner-Up Kellie Baldwin defeated Peggy Horney in this year ’ s individual handicap match play final to claim victory. In the Ladies’ 9-Hole Club Championship, Judy Consiglio defeated Runner-Up Emma Mulvaney ‘2 & 1’.
Perhaps some of the most exciting and interesting tournament finishes of the season by our members weren’t administered by, or didn’t even take place at our Club
In late-July, we hosted the Women’s Metropolitan Golf Association (WMGA) Husband & Wife Championships Keith & Allison Kucinski were familiar with the format having won six Benziger Cups, our own Husband & Wife Championship, and used homecourse advantage to shoot an impressive 69 (-2) despite a triple-bogey on their last hole to win by six strokes The Runner-Up team consisted of our very own Golf Shop Manager Corinna Limbocker and her husband Scott who shot 75 (+4) Click here for the leaderboard
In the Westchester Seniors Golf Association (WSGA) Fall Championship at Century Country Club, two of our own tied atop the leaderboard in the Super Senior Division. Jake Lindsay edged out Jack Horney in a match of cards after each shot gross scores of 84 to lead the division.

As we head into the fall season, cool, dry weather has been the norm and has helped provide us with excellent growing and course conditions I wanted to take this opportunity to present the membership with an update on our fall aeration schedule by playing surface.
Our putting greens will be core aerified and top-dressed with sand on November 3 and 4 During the first week of November, golfers can expect the greens to be sandy, but playable The greens will be cleaned, rolled, and soil amendments will be applied at this time to prepare them for the winter months and set them up for the 2026 golf season Keep an eye out for email updates with potential hole closures
Tees and approaches will be core aerified, cleaned and rolled in late October as weather allows Our staff will try to complete these aerations on Mondays if the weather cooperates
Some fairways will be verti-cut and cleaned during the last two weeks of October, prior to core aeration to remove thatch and organic matter to promote healthy turf and firmness next season Verti-cutting will be completed on specific fairways with more thatch present
Fairway Core Aeration is scheduled for Thursday, October 30 and Friday, October 31 It is imperative that this process be completed on dry days to ensure efficient and successful cleanup If poor weather conditions do not allow us to aerify the fairways, core aeration will be rescheduled to November
As always, thank you for your consideration and support
