Kennedy’s Cougar Crier Named Best High School Newspaper
t the June 2 Press Club of Long Island’s Media Awards dinner, Bellmore-Merrick’s John F. Kennedy’s Cougar Crier was named Best High School Newspaper. “Being recognized along with some of the best journalists is something to be proud of, “Sam Luckman, the paper’s editor-in-chief, said. “This wouldn’t have been possible without all of the hard work put in by the advisers, editors and staff.” In addition, students Jess Mer and Nikita Rodov won third place in the Editorial/Commentary category (Student Division) for Mehr’s opinion piece, “The Case for A Virual Option,” in which Rodov edited.
