Packaging

All our plastic and bulk bags contain 30% post consumer waste and are fully recyclable.

Collection of empty packaging can be arranged through companies such as ‘Tradebe’ and ‘Biffa’, or can be taken to your nearest recycling drop off point.

Every tonne of plastic recycled saves 1.8 tonnes of crude oil being used.

Advertising

All external advertising is supplied on 100% recyclable material.

The timber for our displays is all sourced from a FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) registered company.

Fleet vehicles

We are well into the process of changing our fleet of vehicles onto pure electric.

Make the right choice

Make the right choice

With a large range of decorative aggregates, it is important you choose the right one. Style and project type are key to the material choice.

Style - Deciding on a look is crucial to product selection. We show both modern and traditional garden creation ideas throughout the brochure.

Modern - White, blues and greys really work well in contemporary designs as most of these colours will be in the surrounding materials such as paving, pots, features or fence paints.

Traditional - Creams, yellows, beiges and browns tend to be more suited to a traditional or wildlife garden.

Driveways

Hard angular 14-20mm chippings are recommended.

Granite, flint, basalt or quartz are ideal.

Angular stone knits together while rounded materials easily displace. Less than 14mm is likely to get stuck in tyres, greater than 20mm will increase tyre wear.

Darker tones will not discolour as quickly.

Pathways

Angular 10-20mm gravels are suggested. Size can be as little as 10mm before it starts to get caught in shoe treads, while larger than 20mm will be more difficult to walk over.

Materials similar to those used for driveways are best, however marbles and dolomites are also suitable.

Consider stabilising grids on slopes greater than 1:20.

Water Features & Ponds

Any shape of material can be used depending on the required look.

Rounded products reduce the risk of puncturing pond liners. Many stones look more vivid when wet.

If your pond includes fish avoid all types of marble, dolomites and limestones.

Raised Beds & Borders

With no traffic all products can be used. However, you should consider scale and the sun.

The best beds and borders often use a combination of aggregates, pebbles, cobbles and boulders.

Shaded areas can be lifted with lighter colour options.

Ice Blue Pebbles 40-60mm

Are a larger version of the ever popular Ice Blue 10-20mm premium gravel. These subtle tones of blue and grey continue to lead the market as they complement many of the popular hard landscaping paving tones.

The softer rounded pebble will add a new dimension to any project.

Dapple Grey 20mm

The latest granite to join the Natural Selection line-up.

Chosen for its beautiful grey colour with black flecks and a dash of sparkle throughout.

This is suitable for all applications.

Midnight Pebbles 8-16 & 16-25mm

Predominantly a black basalt pebble with occasional grey and white tones appearing in the mix.

With two sizes available, Midnight Pebbles can be used on paths in a similar way that most gravels are used. They are also ideal for borders and pot topping.

Zebra Pebbles 20-40mm

Black and white pebbles that follow the trend of mixing materials for a modern twist.

Zebra Pebbles are perfect for borders, oriental garden features and designs.

Flamingo

Flamingo is a premium washed mixture of pink and grey marble with white dolomite.

Avalable in 14-20mm which is ideal for most domestic applications and complements all planted areas.

Polar White is an angular dolomite chipping which gives an amazing sparkle.

Available in 8-11mm which is perfect for oriental gardens and 20mm is the multi-purpose size.

Multi Mix

Multi Mix is a modern blend of materials with three different colour tones including, white, red and grey which create a unique look.

Available in 8-11mm specifically for decorative areas.

Picking one of the three tones to complement gives many options. Red Laguna (Page 69) are one example.

Cotswold

Cotswold is a light cream angular limestone chipping, which is a shade darker when wet.

Available in 10-20mm it is ideal for foot traffic areas and borders.

White Limestone is an angular pale grey chipping, which deepens in colour when wet.

Available in 10mm for paths, whilst 14 & 20mm are more suited for driveways.

Red Granite

Red Granite is a very attractive red angular chipping, which deepens in colour when wet.

Available in 14 & 20mm, they are suitable for all domestic applications.

Accessorising Red Granite is best achieved with a contrasting White Cobble (Page 53) or Boulder (Page 66).

Green Granite

20mm 14mm

Green Granite is an evenly toned dark green angular chipping. Like other granites, it deepens in colour when wet. Available in 14 & 20mm, they are suitable for all domestic applications.

Green Granite Rockery (Page 74) is a perfect match. The rounded Angel Whirlpool Boulder (Page 68) is a softer option.

Golden Flint

Golden Flint is an angular multi-toned chipping with a variety of beiges and browns within its composition.

Available in 10mm for paths, 14 & 20mm for areas taking vehicles or where a larger scale fits.

Heritage Quartz is a dark beige angular chipping with a subtle tone of cream.

Staffordshire Pink

Staffordshire Pink is an irregularly shaped gravel, which is a mix of pinks and browns.

Mediterranean Cobbles are a mixture of many different stone types that together create a unique multi-coloured appearance.

Available in 60-120mm these cobbles are ideal for oriental themed areas.

Yorkstone Rockery is an angular brown and buff gritstone which darkens when wet.

Rustic Slate Rockery

Goldpath

Goldpath is a self-binding gravel that creates stunning pathways with a cost effective, durable and textured surface. It’s suitable for a wide spectrum of applications from functional pathways in domestic and commercial settings.

Goldpath is a dolomitic limestone ranging in size up to 11mm.

For domestic use, a depth of 50mm is suggested. At this depth 100kg of Goldpath will be required per square meter.

Kiln Dried Sand

A fine sand that contains no moisture.

Its principle use is to fill or top up joints between block paving and some paving slabs.

It meets the British Standard BS7533 for such use. Colour can vary depending on the source.

Play Pit Sand

A soft fine silica sand which is perfect for children’s play areas where a safe stain free surface is required.

This pale golden sand complies with British Standards both BS EN1177 and BS EN71-3.

Lesiure Sand

Leisure sand is used for a variety of applications such as golf course bunkers, long jump pits, artificial beaches, beach volleyball courts and sand sculptures.

Quantity Calculator

The key to buying the correct quantities is understanding the depth of material required.

This will depend on the chosen application and the material size.

The Suitable Depths Table (below) is a simple guide to help. Remember, too little material can leave weed membranes visible, too much can result in pooling/sinking underfoot and displacement of material, especially with rounded aggregates.

So now you have the required depth, how do you know what to purchase?

The Weight & Bags Table (below) turns your depth requirement into an approximate material weight to cover 10sq.m. It then shows you how many 20kg or 850kg bags you need to buy that product weight. These numbers can be ratioed according to the area of your site.
