The Miami International Film Festival (MIFF) reaches a major milestone this year by celebrating 30 years of bringing films to our Magic City's silver screens. The evolution of film and how it reflects and affects cultures has not only empowered this art form with a ubiquitous power of communication, it has also influenced a plethora of ingenious and visionary filmmakers to provide audiences with a caliber of cinematic artistry that extends far beyond the visual by inspiring and educating. Wire Magazine sat down with Jaie Laplante, Executive Director of MIFF, to talk 30 years of film, the longevity of the Festival, and what’s in store for this year’s repertoire of films. We also sat down with filmmaker Cory Krueckeberg to bring you an inside look at his world premier of The Go Doc Project, an LGBT hybrid documentary, narrative, and art film about young-love.
