Engaging with our schools In February, Wembley Park collaborated with mental health charity Place2Be to bring the topic of mental health to the forefront of conversations. Young artists in Years 5 and 6 from 11 schools in Brent were called to participate in an arts competition to raise awareness of children’s mental health. Keeping the theme of “Healthy: Inside and Out” in mind, the young artists were asked to illustrate healthy environments at school, home, in their community or in the work place. Resulting in:
To coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week (13th – 19th May), selected entries were displayed opposite The Yellow, our community centre at Wembley Park— with the intention of promoting good mental health and encouraging dialogue surrounding the topic. Entrants and their parents were invited to the official unveiling event at The Yellow and the hoardings will be entered for the Ivor Goodsite Art Hoardings Competition 2019.

A voluntary judging panel made up of Wembley Park, Place2Be staff and the founder of Second Floor Art Studios was tasked with the impossible challenge of picking the top three artworks and 60 of the most remarkable runner-up pieces.

At Wembley Park, Quintain and all of our contractors are fully committed to supporting local voluntary sector groups within Brent with a wide range of projects— including refurbishment projects, a new dementia café and mental wellbeing initiatives through arts, crafts and community events. Volunteering week is from 1st – 7th June. To celebrate this wonderful week, volunteers from Quintain, our contractors and Sufra will be creating a community mosaic (designed by students at a local school) using lost and found items, kindly delivered by our logistics contractors at Alandale. The mosiac will be displayed at Sufra's community garden in the St. Raphael's Estate in Neasden. Throughout 2018/19 Sufra set up some wonderful projects for Quintain employees to help with— including creating a new
